Preacher Ronn in a Trap ~ Freezer Needs 1 Ball (VIDEO)

Nice shot. I saw the same exact scenario a few years back. John Scmidt needed 1 ball against Teddy Garrahan. Teddy puuled off the same shot and went on to win the game and match.

He was suppose to take a foul. Let Scott shoot from the hook. If Scott shoots at the ball in the kitchen, he leaves a shot on the spotted ball, or a chance to clear the ball out. If Scott fouls, Ron can cut the ball down the rail.

The shot he chose called for too much luck(or skill). Even if he hits that ball it might not come out of the hole.

Oh and 15-1 is way off. He couldn't make that shot again if he tried it 100 times. The 3 railer might be closer to 15-1.

I'd take 6-1 on clearing that ball out of the hole all day! I didn't stutter.

Maybe, but I think my shot would work more than one in 6 tries. I said he wouldn't make the ball in his hole again in 100. The speed he hit it at, he was likely to leave it right back in front of Scott's hole if he didn't make it, or leave a shorty.

Holy smokes!!!

What was his first choice that he backed off of? Was he 'Z' banking the kitchen ball and hiding behind the stripe just above/even with the side point?to bring a scratch into play for Scott?

I don't know. Kicking out of the pocket made it fairly predictable to hit the corner ball. The speed lengthened it out-but still- Wowwww!!

Talk about coming with a shot when you need it. And the three rail- hit with a lot of CB inside kept that striped ball on the side point very scratchy for Scott.

Amazing series of shots.

Lenny - thanks for posting some fantastic footage.

Maybe someone can ask ron personally, but I kind of thought he played that shot. Others argued he was just hitting hard hoping to clear it out and got lucky. The speed obviously was there, though it can be argued speed helps keep a ball out of the pocket if it's marginal to go in (which means hitting hard = less chance for either a scratch or accidentally sinking the game ball).

I know that 1 rail track, corner to corner, pretty well... if I had one chance to practice that kick or even if I'd just been playing on the table for a while, I'd feel confident I can hit a particular half of the object ball on the firs try. I wouldn't bet anything on making it in the other corner but I'd feel confident I could send it in the right direction.

What do y'all think?

He may have had some thought of making the ball in his hole. It's just not a high percentage shot. If you miss hit it by 3/4 of an inch, you double kiss it and it sticks in front of Scott's hole.

:eek::eek::eek:

The crowd looked like zombies. Had I been watching that live, I'd probably be jumping out of my chair.

Great stuff Lenny!

I say he was just being sure he hit the side or top of the OB off the bottom rail. Executed perfectly and a fine roll.

That said, I was bummed he didn't need that last ball. You know he woulda fired it in 5 rails and sucked his stone back up the table.

great stuff Lenny, thanks for doing the stream and taking the time to edit this out to show it off.

I wish there was a way to re-print the text of the chat when that happened. The fans watching the stream had to be going nuts.

Funny thing is that if you look at the gallery behind the table nobody showed any reaction whatsoever. They must have been stunned.
