Problems with Pierce cues

It is most unfortunate when people make business matters personal and "namecalling" results....

your mother wears Army boots....yea, but she is a sargeant-major with the 82nd Airborne...

I have done business with tons of cuemakers, and Jim's customer service is right up there at the top of the list. Tell me what other cuemaker would make a free replacement shaft for a used cue. I don't know of ANY that I have dealt with who would. The buyer would have been out a couple hundo.

It is truly unfortunate that this issue has not have been settled to everyone's satisfaction. Seems like everyone was trying to do the right thing, but, everyone being poolplayers, it all turned sour.

Calm down, take a breath and start over....

I think one thing this thread really points out is that it can be real tough doing business only by email or phone calls. Sometimes it can be real hard to trust someone who you have never laid eyes on before, especially when you have 3 parties involved. I am not condoning the behavior by any of the parties involved but I can definitely see how someone thought they were getting the "short end of the stick" here. I hope they all find a way to get every issue here resolved to everyone's satisfaction.

I disagree with just one small part, above in blue.

*Your* customer would never be out a couple of hundred bucks.

Why?

because you either wouldn't have sent a cue with a shaft problem to begin with or if you learned your customer was unhappy, that person would have been made to be a happy camper, absolutely and unequivocally.

J-Flo deserves the same.

and for the record, I think what Jim Pierce was trying to do, initially, was commendable. Really. But that def went a little sideways.

GL to all parties involved.

I appreciate the compliment, Brian. Believe me that every deal has not been roses, but I have tried to resolve every issue.

You are correct that the OP should have been able to resolve the issue with the seller, but I also know Jim is super proactive on customer support.

I have personally talked to Jim on this and he wants to make the customer happy. Maybe the 3 of them could do a conference call.

Hey Trollmaster, don't come over here stirring sh!t up cause I busted you out a few minuets ago in another thread. You have 21,000 posts. Your a troll. Read the entire post. Its all been covered. So put up or shut up

$$$$$$SHOW ME THE MONEY$$$$$$$$

SEND THE $650 AND SUPPORT YOU CHILL FRIEND JIM

THATS WHAT YOU OFFERED IN THE OTHER THREAD ABOUT ABUSE IN THE WFS.
NOW YOUR CHANCE TO BACK UP WHAT YOU POST.

Yes that is what I offered but he didn't take me up on the offer so I came off the table. What's ur issue you got your panties in a triple knott???

Or is your aunt flow around for the week? You got to be on your period If you're so angry you can't see how me asking to see both sides of the conversation isn't starting shit.

Go get urself some heavy flow pads change ur panties and drink some cranberry juice. Then you can explain why you tried to hate so hard.

Where is the original shaft now. Lets get er in the mail today and even I will pay the shipping.

I agree 100% you offered to take care of the problem. When a customer says no they will take care of it there own way your now off the hook. He's an adult and he made a decision ..now it's between him and pierce. From past threads jim seems to lose his temper when things don't go right but he makes a hell of a cue and seems to always make it right in the end. No one is perfect...

Here's the deal ..

I demanded the cue be sent back to me and once i had the cue in my hands i would send John a refund ..

Jim and John decided to ignore my demand, and decided they're going to handle the situation between themselves..

What's really messed up is John doesn't let me know he's unhappy, and decides to start this thread, puts Jim and myself on blast without contacting me 1st (he has my phone number, and email)..

Anybody who decides to put me on blast vs trying to work things out privately will never get a refund from me period..

I was CRYSTAL clear on my expectations, and they were ignored..
Nobody gets complete freedom to act as they wish or gets the opportunity thinks what's best after I offer a refund..

Its elementary..
I offer a refund
You ignore my demands
Your out!

Pierce cues

Jim sent my cues to me the same day he shipped this shaft out and I must say that this must be a fluke. I have dealt with Jim several times and he has always been top notch!
The cue u just got from him he went above and beyond what I asked for. I will continue to do business with him and have no doubts referring people to him.
Thanks

I think Jim said the shaft rolled straight when he sent it. This suggests that the shaft was intended to roll flat, without taper roll. If it arrived with a bad roll, then the shaft has been damaged during transit. Given this, it would be reasonable for the buyer and Jim to expect that the cue was received in the condition it was sent. It wasn't, and in these situations it is the person who packaged and sent the item to get it sorted. It is the same for large retailers or private sellers. I bet if a Predator or other production shaft was received in less than perfect condition it would be sent straight back. Big roll, small roll, it's irrelevant.

I don't even think Jim is saying the shaft is okay. In an earlier post he said that the shaft must have warped in transit due to heat/humidity. So enough of the 'looks pretty straight to me', 'I wish my cue was that straight' etc. All involved parties agree that the shaft is not right.

The added complication to what you are saying is that Jim pierce isn't using very stable wood for his shafts. Bowling alley flooring, iirc. That's neat and all, but the uneven grain and run out is going to be more susceptible to warp, especially at narrower tapers.

I have no dog in this fight but I just don't understand why this has been made public, seems to me that once the the buyer was not happy with the cue the seller imo should have refunded the money instead of getting Jim involved period !

I have been dealing with Jim Pierce for almost a year now and his customer service has been nothing but top notch. In fact, when the local cue maker here turned down of the shafts too much (12.4 mm) and I mentioned it to Jim he offered to replace it for free! he said all I had to do was pay for the shipping.

I have owned 3 of his cues and plan to buy a few more as long as I keep playing the game.

To Jim, -------> get mia a bra to match her panties will you, I'm sure she wears an XL since she's such a big girl behind a key board.

I'll take the dog on the right cause he's got all four feet on the ground!!

The dog on the right is all show and no go. Ill take the left one as he is already making the aggresive charge to get the action started. The left one not only talks the talk, he backs it up.

Joe,
with all due respect, Im past the stage of taking a breath and starting over. I did that step already. You see when Jim got the original shaft back and had a conversation with snowman, they got out of hand with each other. After that each called me and each told me that "I showed him". They both won the argument is what each told me so at that point what they had agreed that Jim would make a shaft for the cue, snowman gets cue back and gives me a refund. Lose , lose, lose , no one wins in this situation. I wanted the cue which was why I paid the money in the first place. So after Jim calmed down, him and I made an agreement that since he was making a new shaft for the cue anyway, it didn't make sense to send it to snowman cause no one would me happy. So Jim agreed to send me a new shaft, fix the old shaft so that his name would not be out there on a bad shaft. Snowman would keep the money, and I would finally get the cue I paid for.
So we did make things right on all points but it went wrong a second time. I hope you see how things really went and how I was feeling after the second time receiving a bad shaft and not receiving the second shaft. I was the guy out the money and I was the voice of reason up to this point. Now, as far the new shaft being warped or having a tapper roll, Im was going to make another video with my phone in one of the pockets so you can see the shaft roll from table level. The first video was taken looking down at the shaft so you cant really see the amount of curve and lift. Im wont make that video public cause it wont make the situation better but I will make it available to Jim. Hope that clears things up a little. Have a happy 4th

I'm not sure your theory is correct about bowling alley wood.
There is alot of wasted alleywood that is no good for cues
but when you get some optimal pieces I find it very stable.
I have a entire cue made from that wood including the butt
and its as straight as an iron rod and plays incredible.
Not saying Jim doesnt make errors but I think the communication
turned insulting on both sides which makes the issue worse.
The OP should of taken the refund when offered. I also believe that the
main issue was the playability he didnt like if you go by Snows first email
he got from the OP. If I was Jim I'd plug and re-tap the original and send him
that back as well and be done with it.

I was being polite what I told snowman about the shaft. I knew that shaft was bad and that was confirmed by Jim himself. Im not sure it the shaft played bad cause of the loose fitting threads or if it was bad all around. I NEVER INSULTED JIM. Please prove that I did.

I see you have had time to come on here 3 times to post since I offered to make a new second shaft but you haven't had the time to comment or the time to respond to my txt... You said you would contact me after 7pm last night and still no response.. Your stalling me out making me sit around phone watching.. I'm way to busy for the games. So at this point how am I suppose to get you taken care of? Azer's I admitted I screwed up but here I am swallowing some pride and trying to do rite and the OP won't respond.. So at this point I'm done..

I believe you. But here it is mid morning and still no response but I see your on AZ replying to post and not to any of my post or any of my txt so your making it pretty apparent you don't want to take care of this and move on..
