***Robb Saez Needs Sponsers***

Now if he did something in the past ,let it stay there. This man is trying to get his life right .

So from the previous posts in this thread, Robb is being called out for being a jerk and dumping. Now he wants someone to donate to him so he can play tournaments. What exactly is he doing to get his life straight?

last time i talked with him in march, Robb was working on his temper, and trying to get back in the game for the right reason , Sometimes we don't want to trust people can change but if we keep kick a man when he is trying to get better how will he if we put him down no matter what he does ?
It's funny we as people would praise a guy that does f drugs to stay sharp ( in this game ). Hell some will go as far as to give him some money just to match up knowing that you'll never see it again, Or to say i gave that dam junky $50 to gamble ( but knowing you'll never see it again ).But a man
comes to you humble and looking for help with the option to pay you back

We pick his past to make up our minds for the present ,Hmm look at it help the dope addict but not a humble man ..
Hmm were do we stand ?

Pool is a game and will never be a sport if we don't truly help out someone .

P.S how many pool plays did some really f@%k up things when big money was on the line ?

Lot of nice, upstanding, honest, humble, phenominal pool players out there that would love to be sponsored.... that did not have a checkered past.

Well first I'd like to say thank you for those of you who had nice things to say about me. I'm here just trying to network maybe meet new people and answer questions on pool. So if anyone has any questions feel free to ask me and I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge. Thank you and I wish everyone the best of luck!

Oh good glad to see your here now Robb. I'll be out of town tomorrow (saturday) but i'll check back on sunday to see whats up.

Hope you get a chance to talk to the people here !

Job

He needs to help him self and get a JOB. He is not the only one in this World that had problems growing up. Millions of people have problems and they work their way through them in Life.
The only really thing that I can tell him is that he needs to start thinking about his Life for when he gets older. I hope that I do not see him here asking for money when he is 60 yrs old to pay rent.

Welcome

Welcome aboard Rob!

I have not had the pleasure of seeing you play in person,But I have caught a few of you matches on video, And I must say I am very impressed with your game!

I always enjoy watching you play, Wish you were on more videos. Someday maybe my son and I will watch you in person.

Well, I wish you the best in seeking sponsorship for upcoming pool tournaments, Wish I could help, I will offer what I can , Won`t be much but willing to help out as much as I can.

Word of advise is, Don`t pay too much attention to those on here who just want to rip you to shreds, AZ is also known for running off many pro players.

Too many posters here think they can get on their high horse and spit bull at pro players asking for help or sponsorship.

I seen your game and believe you are a deserving player. Hope someone or some can step up and help you get to your next event.

H.P.

I recently added robb to facebook and he was very nice and helped me out with all of my questions, not only was I surprised by the advice he gave me but more with how quick he was to respond.

Watchez - Yes, I read the entire thread. The first part of my post was to point out that HoH was only sponsored for the US Open and not the other tournament in OK, which it appears you assumed incorrectly that she was sponsored for. You then assumed that she went to a tournament in TX, which was also incorrect.

See these two quotes...

The second part of my post was in reply to your original question of...

You then added a post about Mary Rakin and then went on to talk about Justin Bergman.

In any case, the point I was trying to get across was that Robb is asking for sponsorship for all of his events as opposed to one specific event. The AZ sponsorships you have mentioned (Ashley, Melinda and Mary) seem to have all been for a single event. I'm guessing you did not understand this from my post.

You asked why Robb was getting the cold shoulder. My response is that Robb is trying to get sponsorship to all of his events and to me, it appears that AZ tends to respond better to people asking for sponsorship to a specific event rather than broad sponsorship.

I believe asking for sponsorship to all events is different from asking for sponsorship to a single event, especially if that single event catches the person unaware, and thus AZ responds differently.

Specifically in regards to Robb, I truly believe that if Robb were get a last minute invitation to an event he could not have planned for, AZ would respond positively in terms of sponsoring.

Az'rs are also more likely to offer help to people that spend time giving as much as they give to the site. even though i don't agree with a lot of people that post on here about specific topics. if they NEEDED help and asked i'd be way more likely to help them than someone who only comes on for the sole purpose of asking for help.

Hi, Robb. Hope all is well with you. I remember sitting in somebody's hotel room between pool matches with you and a few other pool peeps discussing what pool means to all of us. You were still living up in Yankee Country at the time. What struck me about you was your sincere desire to be a professional pool player. You actually wanted it more than anything and said you were planning on playing in as many events as possible, in an effort to become better and achieve this goal. I truly admired your enthusiasm. :)

That was about six or seven years ago, Robb, and it sounds to me like you still have that passion. Good for you! Follow your dreams, but allow yourself some room to expand in other directions, as well. Pool, as I'm sure you know by now, is a rich man's high. Unless you're sponsored or have a corpulent stakehorse, it is difficult to follow the tournament trail, especially today when so many tournaments are now being held overseas. I can count on one hand how many American pool players can afford it. :(

I don't have to tell you all this, as I'm sure you already know it. This forum is not a friendly environment to pro players either. Though this forum is moderated, there are multiple-identitied trolls as well as keyboard bullies who take great pleasure in ripping people apart. That is forum culture.

I hope you continue to play pool and enjoy it to the fullest. Be sure to have a Plan B as far as keeping a roof over your head. Find somebody to share your heart with. Believe it or not, there's more to life than this doggone pool racket. Some pool players have learned that the hard way. I wish you all the success in your endeavors

Here's my favorite picture of you taken at the 2005 U.S. Open. It was a glorious day, and the sun was just setting. I love the color contrast of the pink shirt and the blue background. :p

Great post JAM. Nice picture too. You have helped this thread to level off quite a bit with that response. The thread started off kinda rough, but then with some good responses from AZers that have known Robb personaly, things got more on a normal forum basis.

Ugh.

I really hate that people are bashing Robb on here when all he is just trying to go to tournaments and it sounds like he has been working in his temper. :(

Fair enough Samiel -

The Texas inference came from HOH - and response to her.

Maybe it was a little apples to oranges overall but the way Saez got smashed so quickly is what made me curious.

While it may be apples to oranges, I am sure Watchez isn't the only one to questions why Ash and I got a warmer reception to the request for help.

In addition, in asking for help, one needs to be specific and clear what they ask. IMHO, the post asked generically for sponsorship - of which all pros want/would ask for. I think a better package of the desire and return would have gained a better response. I'm not knockin' Zilla for helping, or Robb for trying, but when doing something like this, imo, one needs to stand out from the rest so the peeps can say, "wow, I wanna help this person because that's a great incentive and idea they have."

I don't have any suggestions how to do that, but I'm just saying asking for sponsorship should be done in a way to get a real good response and stand out from the rest (an example would be Sarah's HeartBreaker club thingy).

btw, Thank you to those who explained the dif between this thread and the help thread for Ash.

First of all, sorry to take so long to respond. I just wanted to clarify that I'm not looking for a hand out or donation. I'm just submitting a business proposition and I'm open for any negotiations. Their are lots of incentives of being a sponsor as you all know. The better I do, the more we both get back. I have never done any "funny business" in the pool world and those who know me would agree. Bartrum, we aren't the best of friends but we are cool with each other. He knows me well enough to know that I would never be apart of such things and wouldn't even think of doing that. I would rather struggle and fight through all of this and wait for something good to come around. I have way too much love and passion for the game. Lastly, I really do appreciate all the nice things some of you had to say. Those of you who know me know that I am a genuine person with tons of passion for the game of pool. Now that I'm all set up on this forum now, I'll be posting regularly. Thanks everyone!

Hey Rob, I will probably see you at one or more of these events. I wish you the best of luck but with the economy right now its hard to get $$ for sponsorship. Especially for so many events. Still I hope you get what you are looking for.
Mark,

I was on the road with Robb many years ago. We shared everything and played off the same BR. We never had a problem with money and we never dumped anyone. We did however after many many days and many ups and down almost come to blows a couple times, but we didn't. Robb has a big heart and imo a good heart.

After I left to go home after months on the road I somehow left my, a pretty fancy 6 point Scruggs behind, as he stayed where we were. I didn't realize until I got home.I wasn't even sure where I had forgot it. When I got home(this is before cell phones) I had a message from him that he had my cue. I picked it up a few months later when I returned.
