Rodney shows up in Reno

I think that this can be fixed between Mark and Rodney but it needs some time to pass first. Mark needs time to see that Rodney has changed and Rodney needs time to change and understand what he has done and truely feel sorry about it. any apology without truely meaning it is a waste of time. If a year or two passes things may change but I wouldnt think its going to happen anytime soon.

Since your asking

Does anybody know if Rodney wears boxers or shorts? Let's discuss.

Jam.. I'd say both. The way he S**T all over himself it just might be smart to have a backup pair.

Oh. And since you brought it up I'm sure a few on here might like to know if you wear "boxers or shorts"?

Don :rotflmao:

So Keone should use his celebrity status to get Mark to reverse his decision.

I seriously doubt that Mark will be swayed that easy.

Yeah, might help get Rod in deeper doo doo that he is already.

But heres a thought, maybe Keone can pull some strings and get Rod onto the big screen if he worried about his lively hood.

Quote from NYC cue dude;
"No question Rodney is a talented player and has managed to win 2 American titles over the last few decades."

No question you have strong opinions on what Rodney has done, but number of titles should be based on fact not opinion.

For the sake of argument, his name is Keone Young...

Eric

I realized that, but I thought having a nick-name was pretty cool. I always wanted, one but never had one outside of ****, and ****face, or ******************************. You know the usuals... LOL.

No offense was intended.

No I am certainly not a celebrity but am able to vocalize my thoughts more appropriately than some might be able to. This has nothing to do with Keone being on TV or movies. It has to do that he is obviously intelligent and has a caring for Rodney and pool in general. Those qualities could help in this situation. Like I said, it might be too late as Rodney it appears in insisting he got the last word in with Mark with his prolonged Facebook comments. But if Keone can reach out to Rodney and help facilitate an adult conversation with MG, that might go a long way.

MG already said the banning was NOT over a single post / Facebook comment or solely the complaint about the late entry fee. Why does this keep getting repeated over and over?

Is it up to MG to come on here and air the dirty laundry on how he came to his decision? I think it's professional that he doesn't say more about it.

Compare that with Rodney's laughable and immature Facebook posts. He doesn't even say he called MG and was refused an explanation. He just states he doesn't know why he is banned. Hmmmmm ;)

Hey Keone - how is your poker bankroll doing?

I'm not sure it would do anything good at this point but maybe if you intervened for Rodney with MG, that might help. I relayed a story on here recently how I did the same years ago for a player we both know when he was barred from all CSI events.

Poker is fine. The Dept of Justice just released all the funds that was confiscated from
Full Tilt Poker. So those of us who had money in there are getting our monies back sometime next week. Which means Ill be at the World Series again this year in Vegas.

I don't think I can intervene. There are much better people than I who can. I just hope that Rodney would try to make some sense of all this and come to terms with it in a productive manner, Yes I am biased. Since I am from the islands its always been some pride for me to show how a boy from the last and smallest state could make such an impact. Like for some from the south have their feeling for Shannon or Earl.
But I also think that Mark is a smart individual and is doing wonders for the sport we love.
I know that people who admire Mark might take special offense to what Rodney did but I know that I have been just as guilty in this life. Ive made mistakes. Ive taken the wrong option. Ive changed. Or Ive tried to. The worse things Ive done is to disappoint people who believed in me. To live with that is the worse punishment of all. I hope Rodney and Mark can see both sides to that contradiction

Never considered myself with celebrity status. A professional packs his kit bag everyday and goes to work. If you aren't working you practice. You get out there you miss, you miss. Everyone misses. You lose, you lose. No one wins all the time.
You do your best. You love those that love you and you have compassion for those that don't. No one is special in this life and everyone is.

Rodney's FB rants were the most mellow parts of slanderous behavior. To be clear, this was not a 1 or 2 time incident. Rodney escalated this for many, many months to anyone who would listen.

Deadwood was the sh*t. They should have never cancelled it. I would give my left nut to have new Boardwalk Empire / backed with New Deadwood...

JV (---- Rodney who? ;)

Chris just because you don't know me doesn't mean that I post anonymously. Many people on this forum know who I am. Many know me as Mr Wu because I happened to play Mr Wu in the series Deadwood. I also played Mr Wu in Men in Black 3. Many on here know I was on True Blood last season as well as Sons of Anarchy. I don't like to bandy about my name because I already get some of the weirdest mail since I also have been in Star Trek (tv) and Deep Space 9. And they have the craziest of fans.
I have not been banned but I have been 86'd from places in my younger days. I also burned many bridges when I managed to piss directors, writers, and producers off when I was a young aspiring performer. I learned my lesson and now am pretty active and well accepted. As a matter of fact I am in next weeks episode of NCIS LA. Many many good people know who I am on this site. Youre one who doesn't. Nice to meet you.
I also am from the great island of Hawaii. Born and bred and proud of it too. But man I am not bitter. I can just understand the frustrations of any professional trying to make it in a world that is so difficult and with a short shelf life. I ask you to understand that we are all human and we make mistakes and no ones career should just go down the drain with out a little compassion and understanding. If I think back to all the mistakes Ive made Im very glad that Im here with a good family who I can support with children who I am proud of. If there were those who weren't there to understand and forgive I would probably be back in the islands dreaming of what ifs.
For all that Rodney has accomplished in his life I ask you to think if he deserves to be bounced out of the game. I don't think so.
Keone

. No one is special in this life and everyone is.

I just wanted to quote this just in case anyone skimmed over it. It is true in pool and in life and I have held this view dear for a good long time.

Cheers and happy shooting...

That was precisely my point.

No doubt, a few posts later in this thread, someone will chime in yet again with "I can't believe MG would ban Rodney over one FB post". :grin-square:
