Billiards champ’s kid files molestation raps

THE 14-year-old daughter of billiard champion Ronato Alcano yesterday formally filed rape charges against her father before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.

The victim, a resident of Legaspi Village, Makati City, accused Alcano of violating Republic Act 7610, or the Anti-Child Abuse Law, and Republic Act 9262, or Anti-Violence against Women and their Children Act.

In a six-page complaint-affidavit, the daughter alleged that the sexual assaults took place last Nov. 24 and 25 and sometime in December right in the house of the suspect at 96 Oxford St., Cubao, Quezon City.

The girl recalled that the first incident took place in the house of Alcano’s third live-in partner, a certain Gwendolyn, in Makati City.

She said Gwendolyn was not in the house when she was sexually molested on Nov. 24. Then it was followed the next day before her father appeared in a television interview.

After the incident in December, the girl said she narrated her ordeal to her mother who was working in Dubai but decided to return to the Philippines last Jan. 4 to accompany her daughter in filing a complaint at Camp Crame’s Child Protection Center.

Included in the sworn statement were the birth certificate of the victim, the marriage contract and the medical certificate showing that the girl was molested. Alcano and his wife have been living separately since the girl was born.

I sure hope its not true. Another thread contained some rumor that the ex-wife is looking to collect on Ronnie's recent influx of $$$. Either way, someone is carrying out sadistic sh!t.

We shouldn't easily bite into this. It might just be a tall tale allegedly
woven by the complainant. We should wait for the preliminary investigation
first before coming up with any stories.

This has been the trend there in the Philippines. Once you've amassed quite
a sum of $$$$, they'll (the exes) sue your a$$ just to get back at you and
your moolah, talking about women's spite!

I'm not saying it's true or false. But before anyone asks for a pound of flesh, think about it for a second...

Is there any male here that can honestly say he hasn't been in a situation where a similar and phony charge couldn't easily have been made for hate and/or money? Chill.

I know of a similar case that happened in the state of Washington. These two step-children cooked this guy's goose (with tales of abuse & rape) & bragged about the situation over a dining table one evening, while drinking.

Even after the guy was cleared (2-3 years later) he didn't get his life back, his career back or his pension. He was done.... At 63, he had no future.
 
That's wierd. There is another thread that states that a medical examination showed there was no rape. Then, supposedly, the daughter came up with something like "lascivious contact" or something.

Without prejudging the complaint against our double world pool champion Ronnie Alcano, I believe he and his image are being roasted live and unfairly in the coals of publicity and sensationalism.

Nothing has been presented in this case that deserves the kind of publicity it is getting or should lead us to doubt Ronnie’s integrity and good name. All that has happened is that his daughter and estranged wife have filed a complaint of sexual abuse against him before the Quezon City prosecutor’s office. There has been no preliminary investigation of the charge. And there is no one way of knowing at this point whether the complaint has any basis or is just a case of harassment.

On the other hand, based on our inquiry into the case, we have learned some not-so-pleasant facts about what may be behind the complaint. There were attempts to get money from Ronnie and his manager, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Mariano that were unsuccessful. And there is the rather mind-boggling fact that the alleged incidents allegedly happened over three months ago, soon after he shot to fame and fortune after winning the World Pool Championship.

Ronnie Alcano is not just another citizen of our country. He is an authentic sports hero and celebrity. He has won great honor for our country and our people, not only once but twice. It is an unfortunate fact that celebrities oftentimes become the target of all kinds of suits and complaints, be it for money or publicity or out of envy.

In the midst of his present ordeal, we in the billiards community will not turn our back on Ronnie Alcano. We express our full support and confidence in him. And we believe everyone should rally behind this authentic Filipino hero who made us all proud to be Filipinos.

I'm with you on this one. It looks too much like the old shakedown. Pedophiles have a history. They can't help themselves. What's Ronnie's history? Any similar allegations ever?

I had a close friend that was ruined by his thirteen year old step daughter. After six months of pure hell the psychiatrist officially declared the girl was a pathological liar and every claim she made was false. That was after six months of family counseling, separate twice weekly visits to a head shrinker for my friend and the girl, and total destruction of my friend's reputation in the community where he had been fairly high up in the city administration. Many people always believe where there is smoke there is fire and my friend has never recovered from this many years later.

I had another good friend whom I admired. He was the life of any gathering. A wildlife biologist, funny, knowledgeable, and handsome enough that very attractive women chased after him. After being caught, he is the confessed molester of his wife's granddaughter, a little girl that considered him her grandfather. This started when the girl was about six and went on for several years. This was the last person in the world I would believe this of and I was very skeptical until he confessed.

Two true stories. They plainly illustrate that outsiders never know no matter how well they think they know the person. In Ronnie's case this seems to be clearly a grab for money. Is there any basis for the case? None of us can be sure one way or the other. At this point we should be very careful not to make harsh statements about anyone involved in the case. Time should make things much clearer.

Looks like a shakedown from here too but note I just posted two stories of child molestation charges. The man that is guilty as charged is in his sixties with no past history of any wrongdoing of any kind. He is a "wonderful person" who was liked by all that knew him and he has done me personally many kindnesses. In his own niche he is a legend. Yet he committed a crime so heinous that I can only hope that he is locked away for life in a very unpleasant place.

Sad to say that this happen in Phi..... be it wife harassement or husband molest daughter. Based on the few post on top, this seem common.
