Ronnie Alcano Charged With Rape...

Here's a little story...

My ol' man and myself were friends with another couple, who had 3 kids...one boy, and two girls. I knew this couple for a few years, my ol' man a bit longer. The family was pretty dysfunctional...dad an alcoholic, mom a chronic pothead, among other things.
After a long, arduos process, my ol' man got custody of his daughter, from her mother, at 10 months of age, because mom was an IV drug user, and was hopping from backyard to backyard, living with her 3 kids in a tent...it was a mess. We were thoroughly investigated by a guardian ad litum prior to the custody hearing.

Now, occasionally, we would babysit this couples kids, so they could go out drinking...at least they were being supervised.
The mother of these kids was very tiny...small stature, and looking very much like a young girl. I had no idea, but apparently, this dipstick was having an affair with a known sex offender...of young girls! I had no clue.

Let's fast forward a few years. Apparently, this dipstick did not 'approve' of me, and she and my ol' man had a falling out....I never really cared for her, or how she cared for her kids....very abusive verbally.
Okay...the next year, myself and some close family friends are preparing for my ol' man's daughter's 5th birthday party...we were just waiting on him to get home from work. Suddenly, a car pulls into the driveway, and two women get out, and tell me that they are from CPS! I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what the heck is going on. They proceed to tell me that they have received an anonymous phone call that my ol' man has been sexually abusing his daughter!!!!!! I am completely floored...I mean, what do you say to something like this?! They ask if they can interview his daughter, and of course, I let them....and then they interview each one of us....while this is going on, the ol' man comes home....he was positively stunned by the accusation. So, the CPS workers concluded their interviews, and then tell us that we have to take his daughter to a doctor for an examination, to make sure that the hymen is still intact....I'm reeling. I KNOW that this is something that this man would never do....he absolutely abhors child molestors, and thinks they should all just be shot!

So....the examination shows no signs of abuse whatsoever...which I knew it would not...and this was with her normal pediatrician.

Angered beyond belief....I set out to find out who or what is at the bottom of this! Turns out....the dipstick was in our local tavern the night before the anonymous call came in, talking about how my ol' man abused HER youngest daughter! Now I am best buddies with the bartender there, as she used to rent from us....and she has known my ol' man equally as long as this 'woman'...and she knows better. She also tells my friend that she is upset, because my ol' man chose me, against her wishes, and because she had not been invited to my ol' man's daughter's party???!! I'm hearing this and thinking, this gal is way far over the bend than I thought....she's completely whacko.

Well, CPS finally closes the case as unconclusive...which means the case isn't actually closed, just goes into dormancy for the next 7 years! I am not having this crap. Under the Freedom of Information Act, I demand a copy of the the taped conversation....and guess who it was?.....You got it!! And this was coming from a woman that we had not seen in over a year....and get this...her husband had no clue that she had done this, or the other accusations...he was completely shocked as well. With the above info, and with affidavits from everyone we know, and including her husband, presented this info to CPS. Beyond that...it turns out that the child molesting bf that she had been having an affair with years earlier, before he went to prison for that very offense...was due to get out, and she was planning on reuniting with this guy!!!! As it turns out, HE was the one who had molested her daughter, and she was using my ol' man as the scapegoat, to cover the bf's offense. This 'woman' talks too much to people she thinks are her friends when she's doping or drinking....and I find out, that everyone that has ever pissed her off, has had CPS called on them for some sort of abuse.
After months of fact-finding, and assembling evidence to CPS....I finally got the resolution of the file changed from 'unconclusive' to 'unfounded'....and closed for good...file destroyed....and a letter of apology from CPS, as well as a letter clearing him of all accusations.....it was a complete nightmare, and a lot of fighting...all the way up to the Governor's Office...but it was worth it to clear his name of this horrific accusation.

Upon hearing of this...the husband went into alcohol rehab, got a divorce, and full custody of his kids....and has been clean and sober for almost 5 years now. No one knows what happened to her, and after what she pulled, no one really cares.

I have to tell you, living in a very, very small town...it was quite uncomfortable with the stares and whispers...and it lasted long after he was cleared. It is pretty much forgotten now, but every now and again, we still get the looks. It was incredibly damaging to his reputation, and he did lose a job over it, just trying to deal with the agencies involved. His entire life was almost destroyed over some woman being pissed at him over some very petty, non-related BS.


The bottom line here is....some people, and not always women, but unfortunately usually...seem to throw out these types of allegations like they're candy...and could really care less as to the ramifications that they can have on one's live possibly forever after the allegations are made. If Ronnie is indeed guilty of such a heinous act, it will come out in the wash...but just the allegation alone will follow him for a very long time to come...whether it is true or not.

The really sad thing about this is....it changed my ol' man's relationship with his daughter forever. He would not play 'Tickle Monster' with her, would not allow her her to climb up in his lap for even a hug...as he was just too afraid that something like this would happen again....the close relationship he had with her was gone forever....unfortunately, she was the one who really paid the price for some vindictive, crazy woman's accusations.

Two true stories. They plainly illustrate that outsiders never know no matter how well they think they know the person. In Ronnie's case this seems to be clearly a grab for money. Is there any basis for the case? None of us can be sure one way or the other. At this point we should be very careful not to make harsh statements about anyone involved in the case. Time should make things much clearer.

Unfortunately the truth may never come out. It is almost certain that Ronnie will be stained by these allegations, be they true or false.

In my mind it is possible that this is a shakedown, but one cannot jump to conclusions without knowing the truth.

NOPE, the truth is already known and will follow those involved through eternity. I hope he is presumed innocent until proven guilty there as he would be here.

I worked with a fellow who was accused of molestation by a step daughter. During the TRIAL she recanted and said her mother (the "X") put her up to fabricating the story. VERY sad......
 
the thing is being charged with molestation or rape never goes away. Once the charge is out there the reputation is tainted. This is the kind of thing bottom feeders love and will keep on the front burner as a long as they can.

The one issue I always have with this type of news is the occasional (perhaps frequent) lack of followup by the media. As an example, I don't believe there has been much news about the Deno incident since it was initially reported (by our local AZ media :cool: ) . Perhaps the matter has been settled, but without knowing we are left at the point where a police report was filed. If there is enough interest to report the accusations, there really should be an obligation to report the outcome. I feel that some of the residual stain is the result of hearing the accusations but not hearing the conclusion.

Here is a tragic story from around here. The account seems accurate from my recollections (it was front page news on-and-off for about 10 years). If you are queasy about these things, please don't read the story, it's quite disturbing on many levels.

To summarize (imo) the accused in this case lost a lot more than anyone else, even after their 6 and 7 figure settlements. Others (on the accusing side) just lost their jobs, the opportunity for advancement, or nothing at all (the bit players). This particular story only mentions the kids early involvement as most of the incompetence was shown by the surrounding adults, although those kids must surely have been greatly affected by the "Martinsville Nightmare".

If you want to see an equally disturbing situation that didn't end well(the accused went to jail and one died in jail), pick up the DVD "Capturing the Friedmans"..... its a documentary thats very disturbing, though because of the nature of the outcome, all the main players were able to talk on the documentary because they thought they were "right".

It really gives a good insight into the minds of the people that search out false claims.
 
Rape is one of the most aggregious crimes because it strips women of all power. When it happens to a child whose body cannot accommodate adults and also the fact that the violence probably comes from someone they trusted, it is monstrous! Their lives are ruined forever.

However, I have also seen the work of a scorned and vindictive ex that put her daughter up to accusing her dad of molesting her. He is one of my best friend's brothers and I grew up with him. I goofed off with him and he was never inappropriate. He was a doting dad and just got out of prison because the charges stuck. No one will look him in the eye or give him a job. His daughter wants to see him, and as she is older, knows what she did, but the mother is still poisoning her mind. There are several victims in this scenario.

I just hope Ronnie is innocent and that the charges will prove to be fabricated.

How about Hurricane Carter? Spent more than 20 years in jail after being setup by mobsters.

If you think thats bad. There's was a major incident back in the early 80's in California, that most people who can remember back then, know about the McMartin incident.

It was actually made into a movie starring James Woods. And is a very good movie to watch. But it also shows what the accusations of child abuse can do to the people, and how it changes what people think of you.

I've seen many of these accusations and charges filed. I haven't kept statistics but off the top of my head I'd guess that my experience has been that it's about half and half credible charges as opposed to totally false accusations based on a desire to gain money or hurt the other person. Either way it's a terrible thing that causes a lot of pain. Let's hope that Alcano is found to be innocent of these charges but until he is people will be, at best, somewhat suspicious of him. What a shame for all involved that these things happen.

Ronnie Alcano, a lot of us are still giving the benefit of the doubt.

Deno Andrews, hung him out to dry right away.

Why is that?
 
It is SO very hard to disprove an allegation such as this , really any verbal allegation where just two people are involved is almost impossible to disprove unless one party admits lying.

If it's true, it is a SICK SICK thing

If it's not true, probably nothing will happen to the girl and his career/reputation will never be the same.

This a lose lose situation and very sad indeed.

Deno made his bed, and made it out in the public eye. How much benefit of doubt do you think anyone would give Ronnie if he had molested his daughter in public?
