Set Up for a Shark

Hi all,

Just wanted to share a couple of pics of my new sharkskin Engles case. It is housing a Richard Black cue with swimming ivory shark inlays and opposing shark tooth JP's by Alton Takata of Cue Caps. I have never seen a case made of real sharkskin. It is very tough and I love the texture!

WOW,very nice Steve. It dosen't get any better that what you have there, the total package.I think we all would love to be able to buy our cue with matching joint protectors and it's own special case.

The reason you have never seen another Sharkskin case,by Engles or any other case maker,is because they didn't make many. That Engles is the third one of four I know of,and I have never seen any other case maker even try to do what he did. The case compliments the Richard Black perfectly, and Alton's work is top shelf!

I remeber seeing that cue for sale a while back. How does it hit compared to most blacks?

Thanks for all your comments! As for durability, the skin feels tougher than my elephant hide cases. I haven't had it for long, but I would imagine it's going to be very durable.

Thanks for the info, HEH. I have had the good fortune to have a lot of cases and have never heard of a sharkskin case until I lucked into this one!

The wrap isn't sharkskin, but a friend of mine said he'd send me a piece to see if I could get it skived down for a wrap. That would be cool!

The Black is one of Richard's live wires. I have owned maybe a dozen or so that I loved the looks of, but just didn't have the right feel. I know that feel is subjective, but this one hits nice. Great taper, excellent feedback, and a rock solid hit.

Thanks again for looking!

Is Sam back to making cases, or is this an older one?

Shark

That is one beautiful setup. If I were lucky enough I sure would go out of my way to make a deal.

Great looking case and cue. The joint protectors are a nice touch also.

Thanks for all the comments, gang! Here's a couple more shots...
