Sick Shots

That was an awesome stroke. I would have had to just shoot it with high and a touch of left to gently arrive at shape on the 5. Boring as hell, I know. He probably decided to shoot it like that just because he can.
Now you're being silly.
No I was serious. Lots of ways to get on that 5 ball without that stroke. Not getting laid with it but you might get out.

I just meant you're being silly by the way you're talking. "I've made hundreds of shots that difficult", "I would have shot it with high and a touch of left to gently arrive at shape on the five". What was your fargo again? 625ish? Come on, dude. It's ok to be impressed.

Here's one of my personal favorites, a shot from the 2019 World Pool Masters.

TOP 15 BEST SHOTS ! World Pool Masters 2019 (9-Ball Pool) - Bing video

Check out the shot by Alex Kazakis at 3:35. He has a thin cut on the seven ball and goes four rails and plays about twenty feet of shape in total, ending perfect on the eight. His control of the cue ball here was quite exceptional, as the cue ball had reverse english on both the third and fourth rail. The combination of superior speed control and perfect angle management made this shot truly remarkable.

Several good shots can be found on this video, but the Kazakis shot is the one that most caught my fancy.

Raymond Linares! I was watching a recently uploaded match; 2020-21 US Amateur championships with Jeremy Jones in the booth...

Raymond is up 2-0 and looking to run out. He needs short side shape on the eight but leaves himself too much angle to play follow. He plays a draw and gets a look amidst a sea of stripes. Dang! he misses the cut into the side and his opponent plays what seems to be a lock up safe. No chance for a jump and the object ball is center table. Time to kick for contact?

Raymond spends some time measuring and sets up for the shot... It just doesn’t feel right. He resets, again he doesn’t feel it. He goes off hand and jacks up for the kick. With the pressure on he nails an absolutely perfect pocket speed shot to go up 3-0.

Don’t know how to link videos but it’s worth the watch. Look up Raymond Linares 2020-21 US Amateur championship. The sequence starts about 17 minutes in. It’s worth a google and your time.

Here is an L shot to compete with Efren's Z shot. (For those not familiar with the game, Heathcote at 0:30 has to hit the yellow ball.)

Thanks for sharing!
Does VP do snooker?
Is there a 2 rail kick end rail ,yellow rail ?

VP does do snooker. Here is the shot I think you mean. It is real close to a kiss on the black, but this is without much right and draw. VP even gets position on the green. :giggle:

In the past I've seen snooker players pass up shooting into the close rail when right behind a ball. I assume they don't know the shot because off two jaws looks much harder.

Thanks I actually meant the other "yellow" rail🙃

The 5 may be in the way?

While this one won't go down in pool history (it's only on the Sunshine State Tour, after all), it is a great shot. But the best part is that the player knows its the wrong shot, the announcers can't believe he's even entertaining it, and he fires it in and wins the set anyway. Then he immediately sets the balls up and executes the correct shot, for lord knows what reason. It's pretty amusing.

If it doesn't link to the right spot, start at 38:40 for full enjoyment.

As well as some players jump the ball, the jump-combo was not far out of line. It's one of those shots you have to go with if it happens to feel right in the moment.

Sometimes you just want to go for it!
