Sitcoms with Pool related episodes

What TV sitcoms do you think have had the best pool related episode? I can remember quite a few, but my favorite one was from an episode of Good Times where James (the father) had to resort to playing pool in order to make the rent payment on time. Another good one was on an episode of the Dick Van Dyke show. Any others?

I remember an old episode of Sanford & Son, where they had a fold up Pool table in the living room. I don't remember the story line, but I remember thinking.........Where can I get one of those.:D

Hated the show...but remember the plot line....

Can't even remember the name of the show....but it's the one with Erkel (sp?), the goofy kid with the ultra high-water pants and glasses bigger than his face.

Anyhow, I remember him being a math whiz, and using those skills to work out all the angles on a pool table. Wound up being used to hustle some money from some "seedy" types. Pulled some wicked nice shots out of his arse to win the dough.

Hated that show....as I do most TV nowadays....but that particular episode stuck in my head.

lol Family Matters! I remember that cus I watched that all the time as a kid. That episode DOES actually stick out becuase it puts such a comical spin on hustlers. I wish they would've beat Eddie's grandma too! Come to think of it... I find it kind of ironic that the character names Eddie was getting hustled in pool....

I'll be there for you...and you'll be there for me too.

Ross and Rachel almost did it on a pool table in the pilot of Friends. That counts...right?

The Sanford & Son show was great. Fred had a cheapo table in his living room and couldn't leave it to spend time with Donna, his girlfriend. In between his turns he'd leave the table & go into the kitchen trying to do both at once. She put her foot down & said "table or me". I'd of kept the table...LOL!!! This was a classic...."you big dummies"!!!!:D :D :D

I remember that family matters show, lol. Here's another corny one, the fresh prince of belliare had an episode where will was hustling and got in trouble and the butler comes down to the pool hall and kicks some tail to bail him out...... well a lot more than that happended but that's the simple version. Also the Seinfeld episode where georges dad puts a table into like a 9 bye 9 room and kramer puts the stick through the window and they end up using the miestro's baton...lol

I remember Redd Foxx was a hell of a player. Not a sitcom, but one of my favorite pool on TV episodes was on Twilight Zone with Jack Klugman. I almost forgot the Seinfeld episode. That was classic.

Also Bobby Brady had a stint as a mini-pro on the Brady Bunch, and ended up playing Jim Backus (Gilligan's Island), winning something like 250 packs of bubble gum.

I know it's not a sitcom....but another show popped out in my head about 2 minutes ago.

Anybody see that episode of The Pretender??? I don't think it's on the air anymore...but it was a show about a genius who could learn anything, then assimilate his newfound skills in any profession or role he needed to....

Anyhow, he picked up how to play pool over the course of a couple hours (from the daughter of a bar owner, no less), then proceeded to whip some SERIOUS A$$...to include that of the "bad guy" in that particular episode.

I remember the bad guy was carrying around an Ebony and diamond studded Richard Black custom.

Cheesy show...but once again, the pool table stuck in my mind.

I remember that Siefeld episode now. What did they call it?
"The place to be" or something like that.
And the Miestro took his pants off. ROFLMAO.:D

I use to watch 90210 in high school ,(please dont tell anyone), but Dillan(Luke Perry) use to hustle at pool all the time. He was rich anyway, but always played for a few hundred at the local bar and usually ended up in a fight. Then he got laid by every girl on the show. I always envied that guy.

Years ago Burgess Meridith played an old Hustler on a Gunsmoke episode.

Dennis Cole beat someone pretty good on The Mod Squad.

Mike Connors played a player on Mannix. He alos did an episode in Denver many years ago and came into the pool room. I played him some one-pocket. He knew the game a little, but was way out of stroke. Nice Guy.

None of these are sit-coms, but, FWIW.

V,
Well then, perhaps I shouldn't mention the Beverly Hillbillies (black and white days) episode where the pool hustler (?Charley Ruggles?) goes after Jed's money (playing on the "fancy eating table" with the "pot passer" cues). The hustler didn't realize that Jed's favorite pasttime was "ricochet shooting", so pool was not much of a challenge for him even though he had never played.

On the Nickelodeon Channel there is a sitcom called Drake and Josh about two teenage boys. On one episode Josh (it may have been the other way around) found out that Drake was a "player" and got him to shoot against all the other teens down at the local rec hall. All the while he (Josh) was wagering "on the side" and keeping all the winnings for himself.
BTW, as a disclaimer, I am not a watcher of Nickelodeon. I happened across this show while surfing the kids channels looking for SpongeBob Squarepants for my grandson. Needless to say, once I caught a glimpse of the above mentioned show, my grandson had to wait a little while before he got the TV back :o !!!

That wasn't Burgess Meredith, Ironman; it was the great character actor Frank Albertson, who also played a hustler on "Ironside". Albertson had flawless pool fundamentals and was wholly believeable both times.

Surprised none of you guys remembered the "Mission Impossible" (TV) show where Peter Graves was sent into action with a cue ball that would obey remote electronic commands (the tiny Robert Conrad, of "The Wild Wild West", guest-starred). Of course, Barney Collier, the MI team's electronics wizard, warned Jim (Graves) that the juiced ball could only improve Jim's already keen game by 5% or so. I'm not making this up! George Fels

It wasnt the butler who played it was his uncle Phil.It was funny though that he had the butler bring him his cue and he made all types of crazy shots to take the cash.
