SLATE CRACKING*********Brand new BILL SCHICK***********

I don't see walnut. Looks more like a stained burlwwood or cocoa.
It is nice...
Congradulations,
Nick :)

Walnut... Coco... stained Burlwood? It states right in the first post it's Brazilian Rosewood Burl.

What a great cue Steve. Old school... the way it should be!

Thanks Jamie.....I like the new school as we'll as the old school......I just love cues.

waiting patiently for Eric to start posting all his cues for sale.......other than the Boars of course......LOL

I appreciate your photos. It seems you show the good and bad in many of your cues (much to the chagrin of some.) Macro shots are tough on cuemakers and I've even heard Searing say that there's no such thing as a perfect cue.

Was this the cue from auction where Billy donated the proceeds to future ICCS expenses? Lot of handwork went into this and makes it a very generous donation. Adds a nice bit of history to the cue already; kudos to Tikkler for being part of that.
Now I guess you're committed to future ICCS events!

Very nice Steve. I love Bill Schick's cues. I love old school hand crafted cues. I like old gals and old dogs too. lol

I don't think theres ever going to be a PERFECT cue...tho many will claim they allready have it....LOL

the reason I post my pics is so that every other cueaholic like me can get a chance to appreciate these cues. The close in shots are intended to give everyone a chance to see the incredible workmanship that is put into these cues...or even just to see the cue as if it were in there hands.

Wow all by hand????

Thanks Murray I had no idea he did all this by hand wow

I loved this cue before an appreciate it even more for his ability to do this by hand this is amazing

Thanks for the pics Steve

I came into this thread because the title had me wondering...WOW...no other words...just WOW!

As a fellow cueaholic, I thank you for sharing Billy's work. It screams "Schick!"

You are clearly not the most observant fellow, are ya???

Steve, the grain of the rosewood alone makes this cue pretty damn gnarly.

- B <--------- prays each and every night that Bruce stops saying 'functional art' and Nick learns how to spell 'congratulations'.

Mia, the grain is sort of of FUNCTIONAL ART. .....LOL. All by itself

Seriously tho....the sort of orange gold colors deep in the wood are wild
Thanks

Great Cue...........

Troy, thanks.....the whole scheme of the cue flows so beautifully...I love the design of the boxes

Steve,

You made a very, very wise selection with this cue at the ICCS. Holding it in your hand is a whole `nother smoke from pictures, and a genuine pleasure to see up close. Let alone the playability of the cue.

Great wood, by a genuine Master.

Nice pictures of the Schick.

See you at SBE.

That's a great cue Steve, very good looking, lots of work, great execution.

Do I understand that Mr Schick makes his cues without the aid of a CNC machine?

Thanks

Kevin

At the last ICCS he had a cue in progress where he was wrapping the gold foil around the inlays by hand before they ever went into the cue.

Everybody has a different methodology and formula and rules for how they are going to build their cues. That's one of the beauties of the art. Its one of the things that makes cue building an art, variation is design and execution. To my mind, looking at this cue and saying you prefer another makers' methods or results is as short sighted as viewing an owner's Picasso and stating that you prefer Van Gogh. Please, are you saying you think Van Gogh is a better painter than Picasso because you prefer it?

Thanks for the info. Schick's work is artful, complex and tastefully done. I hear they play pretty good too.
