OK, I'll brag a little. I shot the best match of my life last night.

Race to 4. Winner breaks. 9' Brunswick table.

On the lag I left the CB maybe 1/32" off the rail.

Game #1: 9 on the break.

Game #2: 9 on the break.

Game #3: 1 on the break. 9 in the side on a 2-9 combo.

Game #4: 1,3,7,8 on the break. Run out.

4 games. Zero innings.

I bounce between a 4 and 5 APA BTW so yes this excites me.

I am not a lifelong pool junkie.

I goofed around with it as a kid (18-21) but was mostly high and didn't learn much.

I took it up 2 years ago for real and have a bit of a passion now.

Anyway, and not that I know everything, but my break is pretty simple:

-Left rail, I'm right handed.

-About 0.25 tips low and right.

-Second ball break in 8 ball.

-HEAVY pushoff from the back foot.

The cue I use, and the first that has let me really slamit and keep some control, is a Predator SP with the new 2nd generation 314.

I certainly can't shoot that well consistently and don't claim to be the expert but that has worked well for me. I can almost always make a ball on the break now and almost always at least put the 9 rolling.

Congrats to you buddy!!! Now can you send some of that karma my way, after last night, whole nother story, i can take all you can send. i'm in the doghouse now from the wife, and the sad thing is that i lost double the amount she thinks i lost, shhhhhhh :eek:
 
Why are you doing 2nd ball break if it is 9ball? If it is 8-ball, why did you win because of making the 9 on the break? I am CONFUSED.
 
Correct. Second ball break if playing 8 ball. I assumed everybody would get that since its a 9 ball foul.

I'm sorry LWW, as I'm not trying to start a controversy here, but you clearly state a second ball hit in the above quote then go on to say that this break at least "put the 9 rolling". The sentence before this states that the aforementioned break has "worked well for me". In putting all this together in my head, I am positive that you are describing a 9-ball break by hitting the second ball, which we all know is a foul. Then in a following post, you backtrack like George Double-U at a news conference on the Iraqi War ;) and try to tell us that you were refering to 8-ball on that particular break description. But the game of 8-ball was never mentioned in any of your previous posts. Come on LWW, I think we caught ya red-handed :rolleyes: . Make it right and just say that you've been breaking illegally in 9-ball :eek: and nobody has called you on it yet. If this IS the case and you made the 9 ball on-the-snap two games in a row, then I'm not as impressed as I was on my OP. But still, that's a pretty good night any way you look at it. Good shooting, my friend!!!
