Sugartree cues must be really good!

im not sure how the handicap system is still run in AZ but i used to love it just giving games on the wire, andthey used to have a system where you had a card with your rating on it and when you played in any tourney you showed the card and that is your rating everywhere, they had the best rating system around iwas a 9 and i won a bunch of tourneys out there, iwas rated a little high but i didnt care cause it made me have to play better, now here where i live the rating system sucks big time it is geared way to much to favor the weeker player and most are only a race to 4 so imagine having to give the 5 and 8 to a player who can run a rack in a short race, and everywhere you go here you rating is differant at every place some places my rating is through the roof other places its kinda low so really id rather stay home and kick myself in the nuts its about as much fun.so ive been playing in more open events and thats it

You guys already beat me up pretty badly. :bash:

I hope the rep I just gave you helps the healing. I also hope the rep I just gave Eric helps me get a free cue ... but I aint holdin' my breath on that one, just maintaining a misguided little hope.

Dave <-- misguided just like his aim

Kudos to you for having so many supporters. Overwhelmingly they consider
you a good man as well as an artist. I defer to their judgement. While I don't take issue with your opinion about handicaps and , frankly , never experienced them before moving to Arizona, I ,because,as you said, the forum is not 3-dimensional, got my panties in a bunch because of your term
something for nothings. I don't consider myself that.
I appreciate and enjoyed your comments because they helped me get my head on straight about where you are coming from. I apologize to your supporters for underestimating your character. You have my apologies if you want them but from what I have learned about you very quickly is that you will live on happily without them. I only wish that I could afford one of your cues some day.:withstupid:

Kudos to you. I have to say your character is a bit more complex than your first post revealed. No need to apologize :) We are all just fish in the sea. As for affording one of my cues.....hell i'd like to afford one someday LOL

TRUST me Eric....you cant afford one of your cues!

I have one I'd send you anytime...Of course I'd start emailing you a week later wondering if I could have it back :)

I would have to agree with Erics point of view concerning handicapped tournaments. Bottom line: YOU SHOULDN'T WIN A TOURNAMENT UNTIL YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO WIN A TOURNAMENT! Now, tournaments made up of players of similar skills is a good idea, but unfortunately, you'll always find guys that will hide their speed in order to make an easy buck. I don't think Eric means to disrespect lower tier or beginner players with his opinion. He's simply against the idea of a lesser player beating the better player as a result of a handicap. The winner should always be the best man/woman on that particular day.
And last but not least...................Eric doesn't need to sell his sticks 'cause they sell themselves.

These are some quotes from a posting by qbilder on the Thread titled : "What is fair?"

"Handicapping is a something for nothing fix for the something for nothing kind of people."

"Now any hack can be competent, without the time and practice. & Most of the field is full of "something for nothings"

"They suck and they want the chance to get paid for it."

"Handicapping straights sucks. Simply."

"I don't check PM's, please email me instead: sugartreecue@gmail.com"

I personally don't get it. Is this posterboy really connected to Sugartree?
Frankly we less capable players are just looking for competition with our contemporaries. If the really good players want to play down to our level
they are going to have to handicap us. Otherwise play by yourselves.
I know that most upper level players understand this. I just don't know where posterboy is coming from or how he expects to sell his sticks.

I have made some comments about the way Eric approaches things over the last couple of years myself. But, I have also learned somethings, Eric is very proud of what he has accomplished with his cues and he certainly should be because he has come very far in a short period of time. Eric is meticulous about shaft wood selection and very knowledgeable about wood and its properties in general, thus his shaft wood is always very high quality.

If there is any problem with Eric in general it centers around the way he expresses himself at times when he is confronted by negative comments or what he perceives as negative. However, we are all guilty of doing the same thing, few have the ability not also respond in a like manner when attacked.

I personally think you should take some time and reflect upon yourself and us all before you make any other judgments about others.

exactly right E

I am exactly what I post. The problem with internet forums is lack of 3 dimensional conversation. You cannot hear my tone of voice. You cannot see my facial expressions. You can take my words & make them mean anything you want them to mean. Most likely, unless you know me personally & can relate my words with my personality, you'll take me at a total different value than I meant to offer in my words. This is why I do not get serious about these forums. I don't judge anybody on here because of the things they write. The reason is because I don't know them & totally understand that what they are writing may hurt my feelings down in my gut, but if I were hearing the words & watching the body language, I may actually be laughing my ass off instead of hurting. That's a character trait often not seen in publiuc forums and most generally why things often become a fight.

I do appreciate the kind words from those who understand.

i have know eric for over 2 years and i am proud to say he is a friend of mine! and i am proud to say he makes is unreal at what he does! take it from me he doesnt have to brag or make cold calls or advertise for the sales of his cues! when he gets um done they just disapear! thats a fact! the best part of his ques are that you never lose money on them and when you own 1, you stop wondering why!

This might be the sanest thing I have ever read on a public forum. I am printing this out and taping it to my forehead.
