TAR 26 Podcast this Wednesday at 9PM Eastern with Archer and SVB. Any questions ?

Separate podcasts sounds good to me.

Justin,
I think everyone wants to hear about the ABP. You know what questions to ask and how deep you want to go into this topic. I think it would be good to let Johnny know that it would be nice if he and his members were to openly communicate with the fans on AZ forums. I'm not sure if he really understands how meaningful communication could really be for his own publicity let alone the ABP. I think he would curry favor with many of the fans if he just communicated. But as it is now everyone has the redasss when you mention the ABP and that's not good for anyone.

Do your thing...

Cheers,
Mark

Spoke with Shane last night and he will not be here for the podcast tonight.....but dont worry all you Shaneiacs (going way back for that one) he will be in town Thursday night so we'll do a podcast with him then.

So the final deal is:

TAR Podcast #20 with Johnny Archer tonight at 9 PM eastern.

TAR Podcast #21 with Shane Van Boening tomorrow night at 9 PM Eastern

TAR 26 presented by OB Cues sponsored by Kamui, Simonis and CSI kicks off at 7 PM Eastern Friday.

Shane: Why did you decline to play Dennis O sets of 10-ball over at Jay's house this week? And, is 1P your new interest in pool?

For both players but definitely Shane since he was just at Herfelt's place:

What do you think of the Slug Doctor or Tight Rack systems?? Do you think that all tournaments should have them to prevent racking issues?? I really would like to hear their take on it!!!

Thanks Justin

question for Johnny

What does Johnny see SVB achieving in the next 20 years in this game? Will it eclipse his level of domination of the game within the USA?

I see SVB evolving into the dominant US player for many reasons, just wondering what Archer's take on this is as the "old man on the hill". BTW I feel that Johnny still has a lot more left in him.

In reference to what Hatch said about his age and being competitive, How many years does JA think he has left to compete?

Yes,yes, yes and oh fvck yes. I could be wronger than a pedo on a playground, but I dont think so lol.

Well, I wouldn't believe it unless each of them actually played a long set with Archer. However, I probably wouldn't want to watch it unless Archer was put on a strict shot clock!

You should ask every one on that list how excited they are to tangle with him. As great as shane is, he knows he ain't stealing playing archer. Before TAR switched formats when it was talked about them playing, why do you think shane made the stipulation he would play him only if there were two sets? One on johnny's table and one on a diamond of his choosing. Right after that shane went to Mika's home room and beat him like he stole his girlfriend lol. Beating Archer is tougher than poopin a pinecone. Im not saying archer is better than mika in any way, just saying he has earned that respect for a reason.

you got that right.and by the way ant nobody other than hennesse showed up to play johnny on that table.

Will JA be spending 5 minutes between shots picking lint off the table, the floor carpet, SVB's shirt...?

That's the question which would sway me into buying it or spending my weekend watching paint dry.

I know that it's a time eating monster watching that, but don't you think that he wants to quit doing it. It's something that he subconsciously can't help.

In all honesty it's like having a bunch of people standing all around you while you're shooting, shouting there's lint on the table, aren't you going to pick up the lint, cmon get the lint. You can't think of anything else, but pick up that lint and then get to your pre shot routine.

Just like in "A Beautiful Mind" you have to get to the point where you know it's there, but you choose to ignore it.

I sat and watched JA shoot the 14.1 Challenge in Vegas last week. His pace of play was not at all slow. It wasn't rapid-fire, but it wasn't painful, either. He had a nice pace. Only once or twice did I even see him brush the cloth with his hand.

I made the stipulation to play one set on his table and one on Shane's table. Believe me Shane isn't afraid to play on Johnny's table, I just wasn't going to stake something that is clearly an advantage to only one player.

I offered to stake SVB against Archer on a normal GC at a neutral location and he declined.

I staked SVB against Mika at his home room because the table was a normal GC and not a 3 7/8" table that only Mika played on. It turns out they re-felted / re-leveled and moved the table before the match so Mika didn't have much of an advantage at all.

I have a tremendous respect for Johnny's game and feel he would be a favorite over Dechaine, Hatch, Corey, Morris and definitely Earl. I believe SVB is a favorite over him but it is very close, I certainly wouldn't be giving up the kind of odds I see others who are betting on Shane.

SJM,

I have never seen or heard of that before.
Did the 10-ball go directly in or did a ball come off the cushion and kick the 10-ball in? How many different pockets did the 10-ball go in?

My experience is that from the original hit, the 10-ball does not move if the balls are touching.

Thanks, and good seeing you again.

I watched the match two days ago with Busty playing Burford and the 10 went straight in the lower right corner twice with the magic rack. There is a video on Accustats site where you can see both of the ten balls. I agree if the back balls are froze the 10 shouldn't move but it seems it is possible to rack the balls where something isn't frozen and the 10 goes straight in the corner.

I like that in the US Open the 10 ball doesn't count, but in the match mentioned above it made a huge difference in the outcome of the match.

Yeah, and he came back from 11-7 to make it hill - hill and got a real frosty roll when he welded whitey to the 10 ball for what would have been a straight in on the 7 with cosmo on the out. (2) 10's for sure had a big impact..
