Tooth?....

Hey FATBOY....... please explain your word Tooth??.... I don't get whatever your are trying to say. Thanks

Some do support, but not many. It's a billion $ industry and won't support who they sell too.. As long as pool player keep buying their $hit why do they need to spend the money. I said this a long time ago and got mostly flamed because there are a lot of members on here that sell things billiard. I know many of them can't afford to spend a lot, but they could donate a cue, or a case to the small tournaments to put up for bidding or give out to the winner along with the purse money. Whatever they make that cost them under $300. I'm not talking custom cues or tables here. I for one do not by from anyone that does not support pool. Johnnyt

I would like to compare numbers between free viewing and PPV.

its hard to say, because some of the viewers on U-Stream are bots, but I would guess its like 8 times more people on the free stuff. this is just a guess from my memory.

Thinking about it, the low numbers on the last TAR thing sure speaks alot about the lack of audiences in the WPBA, shame it was such a good thing for so many years.

I do not think it is a matter of loyalty. As a business owner I sought out subcontractors to do my work and paid them. My business, my rules.... my reputation on the line. Better to think of this as a contracted deal and not a buddy system. IMO. :)

I agree, lets move on. TAR is still young and they have to see what works and what dosent. Now we know the WPBA dosent have a loyal following:eek: .

new business...

There were over 1700 users on yesterday. They are not all located in the USA. (Remember to think big) This is the #1 Billiards website in the world, facts to prove not opinion. I for one am glad it is here to view and chat. I've learned a lot...and still learning.

I wish them the best of luck, but I won't be doing any business with them again. I was in Vegas when Shane and Alex played the race to 100. I (and my son) paid to watch them play. I then bought the DVD of the race to 21 that the same two played at the DCC. Also, I drove about eight hours to Kansas City ( again, with my son) and paid to watch Justin and Morra play. The problem I had is that one disc of the race to 21 was faulty and wouldn't play on my DVD player. I e-mailed them, told them of the problem, and was assured that they would have a replacement in the mail the next day. Two weeks went by and nothing in the mail. I e-mailed them again and didn't get a reply. So.....I gave up, but won't give them any more of my business.

it just does not make sense ???

I was there and had worked things out with the Florida Pro tour to do the
mens event .Well after alot of thought I decided not to because I felt if I
did the mens event it would hurt the number of viewers TAR and the WPBA
would get .
SO I get half way home tonight and see this post and it makes me sad .I
really think Justin and TAR do a jam up job .As a fellow streamer I just hope
the support gets alot better for us all .I have just done a few tournaments
and am still in the learning process about streaming .TAR are truely the pioneers
of doing this .I got sick and could not go to the Derby a couple years
back and thanks to these guys I got to see alot that other wise I would of
missed .

I had issues with the orders I did with TAR. Both guys fixed it properly ones they got into it. They are only 2 BIG guys and let's give them some leway specially when they are on the road.

I am a very happy customer. I have never had a problem with the feeds and the camera quality was better than ever. Me and Jay bet $50 on two matches that both went hill hill and it made it exhilarating to watch.

I will be depressed if I can't spend the rest of my life betting on live feeds so keep up the good work guys.

The TAR guys are stand-up guys and do have great integrity.... imo. Period. Any problems WILL be taken care of the right way every time if people would be sure that TAR has been made aware that a problem exists.

I hope, Stream, that you'll give the guys a chance. If they didn't satisfy you then you just didn't get their attention. Give them, and youself, another chance. You'll be glad you did.

I think this feedback is great so I'm going to give some insight to me as a viewer. Pehaps this will help to hear things like this.

1. I bought this PPV twice, once for me and once for my friends Dad to watch his daughter play. I bought it personally to watch any of the Canadian girls that might be on and Sarah Rousey because I like her as a person and like her break. Here is my summary,

Two Canadian girls got on the live table so I was extremely happy for that. When Joanne played I had a doctors appointment and if not would have been working and unable to watch. (Tournament weekday matches leave most people paying for a feed they are only going to get to see from 6:00 on.)

My friend played EWA Laurance and the match was very scrappy and came down to who played the least poorly. However I stayed on and watched the Jennifer Chen match right after which was great with lot's of impressive shots from both girls.

Now I do think $30 is a little high? Well as a consumer I would say yes. However knowing it's my only way to watch besides buying a plane ticket to Florida, plus they were going to show matches that inrerested me I bought the PPV.

2. I like the challenge matches and I like the build up to them, the story behind them. Alex and Shane is the best thing that's been on IMO. Even before it was announced I was reading everything I could on AZ about their prior matches, many were qreat stories from people who had watched them and many were people going back and forth about who would win if they played again.

Then the Race to 100 was announced to be shown on TAR so I was excited. Here I want to pick a side I want to know the history, maybe I want to bet, either way I need lead up and a story behind it. Many times the most entertaining stuff is off the table and the video. It just so happens that SVB and Alex delivered one of the best matches I've ever witnessed.

Perhaps Vince McMahon's model would work. Basically his weekly TV show was a few matches but mostly people challenging eachother and creating a story leading up to and getting fans excited to order the PPV.

To sum up TAR does a great thing for us fans by streaming these matches. I know for it to be a success and for it to keep going they need more than 35 people paying to watch.

Nasty and JCIN have done a great thing here and I am thankful that these two guys have so much passion for the game and the players to keep pluggin away. I don't think anyone should expect an overnight succes, good things need to build. These are two smart guys and I'm sure they are going to find a working formula through some trial and error. Our feedback and ideas here in the forum are certainly valuable so I hope this thread doesn't just look like a bunch of complainers or people who think they know better.

Keep up the great work guys!

I was at that event watching the mens side for a little while last night and I went over to check out the TAR guys before leaving. They were obv at the booth doing comentary, I saw some unfamiliar lady standing next to the booth so I asked if she was with them, she said something like "kind of, those are 'the action report guys'" I said I knew who they were and I wanted to make a small donation she said "oh well if you want to make a donation you should donate to the WBPA, we're(they're) putting this all together." smh :speechless: .

Not sure if it was JCIN or BN that I saw but either way it was nice meeting you, and that's a nice setup. Keep up the good work guys. I would have loved to treat you guys to some Blue Plate or Tattoo but I had to get out of there.

The WPBA coverage was a joint venture with the WPBA and was a trial run more than anything else. It was basically to show the WPBA what our capabilities are and for them to see what the possibilities for future broadcasts could be. I am not going to go into our business arrangements with them or anyone else. I will just say that we are not as dumb some think or as smart as some give us credit for.

It was unfortunately a last minute thing that did not get promoted anywhere near what is neccesary. We knew all that going in. I won't lie and say that we expected the low turnout that we got. I thought there would be about twice as many as there were but in the end I think most people who would have had some interest just didn't know about it. Hard to sell something when your customers have no idea its available.

Chad and I appreciate all the support and suggestions in this thread the great majority of the suggestions have a great deal of merit and are something we have been looking at for awhile.

I think the video on demand/pay per view download is a must. The problem is I am not a web guy. I do all of the web work and it is stone knives and bearskins. To properly set up the PPV download site is beyond my skills and something that we will work hard to find an affordable provider for.

We have tried somethings out to see what works and we keep coming back to the thing that we started all of this for: Action. Chad and I have spoke several times over this weekend and decided that after several failures trying to cover other people's events and trying to outrun the expenses only to come up short, we will focus on what we do best. Action.

Working with the WPBA this weekend has been a good experience. All of these ladies have a deep love of the game and getting to meet some of the players who fight hard to make all of the tour stops and play their best with full knowledge that they will probably take the worst of it financially but do it anyway because of their passion for the game is inspiring. We won't rule out working with them in future and think there is bright future for streaming the WPBA if it is done right and with the proper marketing and support.

We are about 18 months into this thing. With the support of many great and loyal customers we have been able to do some great things IMO. We will keep learning, innovating, and improving in the future. The best part of what we do is meeting, hanging out with, and sweating matches with the people who support us. I think there is a market to make what we do possible and worthwhile. The economy and time constraints make somethings hard but I feel they are challenges that can be met or dealt with.

We are far from dead. In fact I think the best is yet to come. Thank you to everyone who contributed suggestions and comments to this thread.
