This is a great, exciting format.

And these 2 guys are tough money players.

This is no way a "pick em" match, Darren has got to be a pretty strong favorite. I lived in Australia for a couple years and after playing 2 shot 8-ball on those tables with tiny snooker cut pockets for that long a bar box looks like a joke, you have a hard time figuring how you could miss.

When is this taking place? If it is in Vegas during the BCA or VNEA I would be happy to meet up with people and take some bets on the entire thing or individual sets within the match.

This is going to be an enjoyable match to watch.

It is interesting that Scott's best game isn't in the format.

I've heard a lot of positive things about Darren but have never seen him play. I have no clue who would win between the two player although it's apparent that most people are betting on Darren. Scott also has a 3rd gear and is a very capable player at every game.

This should be entertaining. Thanks TAR/Justin!

This is going to be a great match. I've been demolished by The Freezer in the past, and I've seen him hit that 3rd gear many times. Unfortunately I've only seen Darren on film/dvd. Both are great players that can get out from anywhere.

I'll be there in person, when I'm not playing singles and scotch.

I take it this is being played in the TAR pit. How many peeps are going to be able to fit and watch it live? What times are we looking at? Same time each day?

I'll most likely take some of that action on Scott.

Please come find me. Just ask JCIN or Nasty & they will point me out.

Or you can reference the photo to the left - that is me with my buddy JB

Legend

Legend,
I will bet you $20 I take the Freezer. I guess the format is 2 out of three, so my bet would be $20 on whoever wins the 2 out of three. Are you all talk or what?

The TAR PIT is going to be about 3600 square feet. Our seating is going to be limited by what we have to work with as far as bleachers, risers things like that. I am guessing that we will be good for 100-150 people comfortably as a conservative estimate. We will probably do a VIP rail or tables as well for people who want to be close to the action. The seating details are still being discussed.

Right now we are looking at a start time of 6 or 7 PM local time for the Appleton vs Frost match. Once all of the final details are in stone we will put out the start time for each day. The PPV price will be our standard $25 for all 3 days, $20 for the last 2, $15 for the final day.

Details on Alex vs Shane as well as a very exciting announcement for TAR will be out very soon. I know everyone wants to know what is going on but it makes more sense for us to wait a little until things are solid to put info out than to put it out and have to keep changing it.

Thanks to everyone for the interest. The BCAPL 8 Ball Nationals in Vegas is going to be great time to see some of the best in the world match up head to head, winner take all, in long format sets in a unique atmosphere. We hope you all will come out and join us.

You woofing at IBA only or can I step up and take that bet?

You are down for $20 on Frost if you want it.

The window is wide open over here too if anyone else wants to bet on Frost.

You've got action. I am definitely not all talk, I've taken at least 25 bets here on AZ since January and everyone has been paid by the following business day. Thanks for the bet. uwate, as he called me out I'll assume I have the action on this one. Chesscat, please confirm who you are betting with as well.

AZ action = good action for me (except pooldawg1 - Jeff Holloway)

I don't like this TAR PIT idea. All this means is that I have to get out my GPS, go back into the woods, dig up some more mason jars & bring more money with me to Vegas this year. Plus I'll be spending more time hanging out with pool instead of the distractions of Vegas. And my lil buddy Justin B. will also have to be instroke just in case someone really wants to do something. Rumor has it that his ex GF will be in Vegas so if anyone wants to jump on Justin this would be a good time. Even 20 year olds can have distractions.

Damn you TAR.

My bad man.

Speaking of Justin, I got your next opponent ready. PM coming.

Hmmm....Not sure how all you odds makers can be so positive either way on a bar box????

Since I am local (and have witnessed it) I know that Freezer is easily capable of putting "packs" on a bar box...as a matter of fact he is capable of running out the whole set if his break is working on a diamond bar box...

I am assuming the Darron is at lease that capable also... so I am not sure how you can pick either way...I think it will all come down to which person has the break working that day.

Since I will be there, I will reserve any rail betting until I get there.

Is there going to be any admission charge to people that want to watch this live???

We should set a line on this match. From the looks of this thread, most of the action is going the way of Appleton.

Appleton has to be at least -110. Maybe 6/5 (-120).

One thing to consider here is that in the history of the TAR matches, the underdog has won in nearly all the matches except for Shane v Earl.

Shane v Corey (underdog wins)
Shane v Earl (favorite wins)
Harriman v Schmidt (underdog wins...although this one was arguably a total pickem)
Webb v Rousey (underdog wins)
Bergman v Morra (underdog wins)

makes you wonder what the future holds for Frost v Appleton...

Yes there will be charge at the door. The room is 38x96 and by the time we get all the stuff in there and arranged there will be limited seating. We are figuring conservatively around a 100 with probably 30 VIP. It could be more, just depends on if we can get risers or bleachers. I would prefer fewer seats that are comfortable than a bunch all crammed in. We are working on it.

Door charge will probably be around $15 per day with a wristband to come and go as you please.
