Some people wanted me to post an example of our US Open Ten Ball coverage form this May. I have put up a match between Dennis Orcollo and John Morra in its entirety.

The match is an example of what IMO is the best production we have ever done. It has Nathan DuMoulin and Eric Shepard of runoutmedia.com running the cameras, Andrew Cleary and myself doing commentary and running the switcher.

It is a look at what is possible with some manpower and a very little bit of lighting.

Here is the link to sweat it for free if you like: http://vimeo.com/13892476

Thanks Justin,

That was truly one of, if not the best online pool production I have ever seen and you know I have bought them all (US Open, DCC, Mosconi Cup, TAR...) over that last few years.

Nice helicopter reference at the 18:25 mark Justin.

Tanks Again

Why do you say that Chris ??? People Just getting a lil to uptight with their money now a days or what???

Any plans for releasing all the recorded matches in some format? I for one would love to see more of these.

Orcolla fouls the six ball with his first shot of the game.
He did not call it ?
The oncomming player made a combination in the side pocket and orcolla challanged him as he did not call the shot when it was so obvious.

great coverage i am watching it now.
thanks to all involved.

Hah, good point. I didn't notice the foul until you said it. I wonder if Dennis noticed it.

Good eye. I missed the foul on the 6. Saw it on the rerun. Bad on him for not calling if they were playing all fouls.

On the carom challenge, again depends on what rules they were playing. Some rules day that all banks, combinations and caroms are not obvious and must be called.

WPA rules only say that you must call the shot if it is not obvious. I guess it's a good practice to explicitly call banks, caroms and combos, but at least WPA rules doesn't require you to do so.

Whenever the shooter is attempting to pocket a ball (except the break) he is required to call shots, the intended ball and pocket must be indicated for each shot if they are not obvious. Details of the shot, such as cushions struck or other balls contacted or pocketed are irrelevant.

I think this was a BCAPL tournament and BCAPL rules state that combinations, banks and kicks must be called. If not your inning ends and other player shoots. Interestingly enough, Caroms are not mentioned so I guess do not fall under this explicit rule.
