I've never met you, but I was lucky enough to sweat part of your 8-ball match against Orcullo on the barbox in Vegas. I became an instant fan. :D

Thanks for kicking so much butt and for being a great representative for pool and the USA. It's a pleasure to watch your skills on the table.

Take 'em down in Manilla!!!

I had the pleasure of watching you when you and Jesse matched up in Des Moines and it was a real pleasure. You are poetry in motion at the pool table.

I'm Not Kidding About THIS

Shane, if you happen to read any of the other threads and Polls started about you, don't get angry. Almost, without exception, EVERYONE here at AZB is very proud of you as the reigning U.S.Open Champion and a fine upstanding young man with good work ethics and morals.

Most people here (especially me) don't play anywhere near as well as you do and we are not so eloquent at effusive compliments to those we admire. It is much easier to couch our enthusiasm in jokes and humor. Don't take any of it seriously, it's all said in jest.

Many of us are living our poolplaying dreams through players like you and John Schmidt and Gabe, etc. You make us proud. Keep up the good work and read AZB for it's information AND it's sense of humor & entertainment.

Doug
( we like you, we REALLY like you ) :)

Shane...I've always known you had it in you to be a tremendous champion. This year has been amazing, and you've shown yourself to be the same championship player on and off the table! Fantastic job winning the U.S. Open! We're proud to have you representing the USA in the upcoming World Championships in Manila! Best of luck there...I know you'll do well, and I hope you win again! You've got lots of big games coming up, and everyone here wishes you the best. You're a credit to our sport!

May the pool gods (and GOD mostly) give you the best of your abilities, Shane!

Wishin' you the best in your games from here on out...

U.S. Open Champion... Shane Van Boening. Man, that sounds so SWEET! Congrat's Shane and thank YOU for being such a great guy and a wonderful asset to pool! You have many followers here on AZB. We are proud of your accomplishments - and you are only 24?! Wow.

I watched the race to 100 with Corey, and the U.S. Open on BCN. I was really impressed with your game and your demeanor at the table. It was really cool the way the butterflies hit you hard on those last 4 balls in the Open, but your coolness got you through it.

Your a "real" champion. You've got a very bright future S.D.Kid

Congratulations Shane. It's nice to have a champion whose character matches his stellar game. Best of luck in the WPC.

You're Welcome

Players like you make it EASY and PLEASURABLE to be a fan. We get to see perfect pool matched with perfect manners.

IF you make the Triple Crown of World 10 Ball - US Open - and the World 9 Ball in one year I think that the BCA might have to lower the Hall of Fame entry age to 24!!!

Keep rocking it Shane - I can't remember the last time a player has generated this much excitement about their progress.
