Thanks to Bigtruck and Championship Cloth, Johnny Archer can F&^% off

IMO, people forfeit the right to keeping their name clear of mud the moment they betray their promises.

If he decides to share an apology with or without an explanation as to why he dropped the ball, we take it from there.

As Of the op though, all indications are that he honey badgered the matter.

Oh BB... You aren't so squeeky clean. Do you remember the time you were my scotch doubles partner for 7 geese and a betting railbird offered you a scotch on the rocks to dump? And I proceeded to kidney punch you and call you by your first name? :grin-square:

Pool donkeys are the teacher. We're all cursed and loving it. Kinda, mostly.

I think that sums it up about right.

I agree,

Ebony Knackers is the Teacher.

"pro pool players" - is there not one perfect among them?

and did you get that little "extra-something autographed" from JA? for the 3 month delay?

those darn "pro pool players" - is there not one perfect among them? :yikes:

Please do not stereotype all pro players by the actions of one pro player. I do understand, however, your thoughts.

I agree that Johnny not being more forthcoming is disappointing, but how knows what's going on in his life right now. I'm not going to judge. The Johnny I know has always bent over backwards for pool fans every time I've seen him, so I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.

That said, a big round of applause goes out to Big Truck (Ray) and Championship Cloth for coming to the rescue. :)

who cares we all have lives. be a man

Thanks to Bigtruck and Championship cloth for taking care of me, from the Buddy Hall auction. As soon as Bigtruck took the lead, everything was taken care of.

As a message to Johnny Archer, who is who I sent the check to. You sir are not a sir. A simple call, email, or DM on here would have made all the difference. You accepted my payment and left it to everyone but yourself to get things taken care of. If Bigtruck wasn't involved, I would still be sitting out here, without the cloth. I use to respect you and watch everything I could find online. It sucks when an idol in the sport takes the money and runs with it. I will not support anything with your name attached (im sure not a big deal for you.) As a fan, I am disappointed and sad that you didn't take the time to at least post in the thread about what the hangups were.

You should feel great that you did this for Buddy, but you shit on Bigtruck and users of the largest pool community to do it. All in all, I would keep your shit away from here unless you expect to get flamed.

Thanks Bigtruck and Championship for taking care of me. I really appreciate it.

Big Truck walks the walk and talks the talk, Truck is good people!

This was an auction, it was not charity. The OP "paid" for a product.

This is no different then someone going to the Wanted/For Sale section of the forum, finding a cue they like, telling the seller they will buy it, sending the money, and then having the seller keep the money and not send the cue.

The only difference is this time it was Johnny Archer that ripped a buyer off.

No one is asking for perfect CJ, is it ok to at least expect pros who don't actually outright rip their fans off and scam them though? Is that too much to ask CJ?

ok
1) when i wake up screaming w/ nightmares from that pic @ 3am....
2) Celtic is right - this is BUSINESS - same rules apply; but JA didn't "rip anybody off", moreover "dropped the ball"
3) and it's all-llll in how you work it. and particularly valuable this evening.
MARKETING & CUSTOMER SERVICE = REPEAT & REFERRAL BUSINESS

(thanks for my "gift w/ purchase")

person A's side, person B's side, and the Truth.

Of course it's not "too much to ask" - I've been in the hospitality business more than half my life and have seen all sides of "the coin".

We think words like "scam" and "rip off" are very serious and maybe not the best choice of words. You know what they say, there's three sides to every discrepancy, person A's side, person B's side, and the Truth.....they are NEVER the same.

I'm not saying the person doesn't have a right to be upset, I am saying that posting these remarks on a public forum under an alias is not the best way to handle the incident. I seriously doubt if Johnny Archer was "scamming" or "ripping" anyone off.

At least he deserves the benefit of the doubt, maybe he just made a mistake......haven't we all made mistakes? Casting the first stone is usually not the best practice in life.

You're welcome, I'm glad you liked it.

Think happy thoughts before you go to bed, wouldn't want you to "wake up screaming". ;)

I agree about people who weren't involved. I kept my comments all to myself, and didnt appreciate people who werent a part of it inciting shit. Once it was over, I felt like I needed to thank Big Truck. I also thought once completed as one of the people involved I would give my take. I am sure JA is a great guy. Has always been in everything I have seen. This is prob why I was so dissapointed/upset. Im sure I owe him an apology, as he is great for the sport. The other part is that I felt quite upset that I purchased something and the only feedback I get is from Bigtruck, and he had to do everything. I really really appreciate him and will be buying his streams from now on. If I can't watch, Ill buy them for someone else.

Like I said, all is great now, but how much longer would I have been in no where land if it wasn't for Ray?

It is rumor that Ray's next stream will be JA and BH counting the cash.

CJ,

I am the thread starter. Where did I say scam or rip off? Pretty sure the worst thing I said is Sir you aren't a Sir. Thats far from Scam or Rip off. Posting truthful things that happened on a dealing on AZ isnt appropriate? Three sides?? Is this saying that I am being less than truthful?

I won an auction for felt, sent check to person to pay for auction, waited a while, asked big truck, was told Johnny was taking care of it, waited long ass time, posted in the thread when asked directly that I had not received, big truck took the wheel and had it here right away. Have never heard anything about it from JA.

I know i'm just an internet person, but this internet person also pays to be a member of a billiards community. I am not a pro, I am not a shortstop. I do spend money often on my favorite hobby obsession. I bet on two different items, winning one. I spend money on streams including yours, and purchase a lot of items on this site. If it was me or Barking or anyone else, would we be held to the same, oh its all good, shit happens mentality? Or would I have bad iTrader, a Red Bar, and a ton of hatemail? Im pretty sure we still hear about Mikes tapes still to this day.

This blew up a lot more than wanted or anticipated. It was a way to thank Ray (Big Truck) and to show my displeasure towards the person who didn't follow through on an item I won in an auction. Stupid me for being upset. I just wanted to support the game I love in any way I could, and had an opportunity to bid on an item to help get Buddy Hall to the Mosconi Cup through Johnny Archer. OK, as a fan who loves the game, that was some pretty cool shit. Now I made the thread to thank big truck and show my displeasure to someone who certainly doesn't know me, and just left me hanging.

Also:
My name is:
Joe Moats

Could ask, I never assume anonymity online. Signing my name to the original post would have looked douchey. I wont put my address, and I don't think anyone else would either. Not that it wouldn't be easy to find.

EDIT: If i ever implied that JA was a thief, that certainly is not the case. I got the item I paid for, just instead of it just coming Big Truck had to do it months later. I never said he was a thief, and if that was how it sounds, it isn't my intention. Nothing was stolen from me at all.

It's obvious I was responding to the above post by "Celtic," not yourself.

If you think what you posted, Joe, is appropriate, and you enjoy the outcome, then by all means do it again....and again...and again....it's entirely your free-will choice.

I was only suggesting there's {possibly} a better way to thank one person and criticize another without going this "route"......'The Game is the Teacher'

Im sorry, I thought the second part was directed at me. I agree this thing got out of hand. I could have been more classy. What the intent was, which doesn't matter now, was to say that Ray grabbed the bull by the horns when I was left to dry on a popular auction listing on here. A little more passionate than needed.

Joe

Sure, on everyones orders. What about the person that was promised autographs from all the players and got only a couple.

Defend whoever you like CJ, but the end result was the same.

Yes, maybe JA just made a mistake. Like not giving a crap after he had the money.

And if another Pro wants to do an auction next year, to help with team USA's travel expenses for example, how do you think that will be received, thanks to JA.

These guys are very quickly whittling down the amount of members that will participate in auctions or make donations in the future.

I would say that JAs auction days are over, for a start.

maybe, since CJ is a pro, and Johnny is a pro - CJ could call JA....
....and?

not, that it's CJ's problem.

and again - yáll AND CJ know that i have no love for him - but at least he should get some respect for posting, herein, as opposed to.

Protect yourself

As you would with any other online purchase and pay via paypal with a credit card. Stop payment when things get ugly.

Who is the fool for expecting a pro player to be capable of handling a simple transaction? Once you have served thier purposes you will be left hanging. Expect it. This babe in the woods routine makes you look bad.

Dont come on slander someone, then say you didnt expect the obvious and predictable outcome. Arent you the guy who said F Johnny? Nah, thats not inflammatory. Like to see you say it to the mans face, means nohing otherwise.

Once again CJ and others pipe in about maybe Johnny got busy or had things going on.

He wasnt too damn busy to cash the check.

Then he wasnt too busy to fulfill his commitments.

I agree that Johnny has seemed to do the right thing in the past.

In this case he was wrong. As the others have noted, if I bought a cue paid for it and then didnt get it. There isnt an excuse.

I dont give a damn who you are. He is no better or no worse than any of us.

Only difference is the nuthuggers that want to make excuses for him.

Ken

....
Not defending his actions at the time, But...nobody's name but Buddys is ever mentioned in what happened. Why not give the whole list of players involved when its mentioned instead of just putting it all on Buddy. It was also like 40 years ago....give it a rest. FYI nowadays Buddy is donating his time in a "play the pro" challenge to benefit the Special Olympics this Saturday in Paducah, Ky.

23years.......
