The Baltimore Bullet

The chance to appear in "The Baltimore Bullet" was considered a very big deal by the members of the Professional Pool Players Association (PPPA), as it gave their sport excellent exposure. In fact, two pages of the program in that year's 14.1 World championship event were dedicated to the movie. The same year, some PPPA players got to appear on ABC's Wide World of Sports, and the exposure given to the sport was also considered a great thing by the industry. I'll never forget watching Howard Cosell interviewing Irving Crane (wish I could remember some of what was said in that interview). Seems like yesterday, to be honest.

I can tell you Netflix does not have it. If anyone finds a VHS copy and has an appropriate VHS-DVD transfer machine, I will be happy to talk more.....

I have it on a DVD. I used to have two copies on VHS and I figured that the VHS copies would get ruined over time, so I used my VHS/DVD recorder to record it on DVD. The quality isn't the greatest but it works.

Right now I am trying to make a version to watch on my iPhone

If someone can make this easy for me I don't mind sharing and/or trading

Unless I'm mistaken...I believe Columbia SC resident Buddy Dennis is in that movie. He used to play rather sporty.

I too would really like to have a copy. If anyone has it, I would pay for your time and shipping. Please PM me.

Josh

I know have TCOM, Hustler, Baltimore Bullet and the Color of Money Match between Reyes and Strickland all on my iphone. I will never be bored again!

It wouldn't surprise me if he played. I think he liked to gamble mostly on cards, I don't no for sure on being a serious pool player.

Buddy Dennis was known as the Baltimore Bullet, does this have anything to do with him. I haven't seen or heard of him in many years. Also Danny Wolford known as Baltimore Danny. Are they still around and or playing.

6 Degrees of Kevin Bacon

James Coburn was in The Texas Rangers with Joe Spano.
Joe Spano was in Frost/Nixon with Kevin Bacon.

I thought the same thing the first time I saw it. His resemblence to omar Sharif is also mentioned in Playing Off The Rail.

Also mentioned in "Billiards: Hustlers and Heroes, Legends and Lies, and the Search for Higher Truth on the Green Felt" by John Grissim.

I enjoyed this movie quite a bit. I hope I don't get in trouble for this, but I have a digital copy if anyone has trouble finding this neat movie. I could convert it to a format that would be playable if you burned it onto a DVD. The quality is watchable, not great. I won't burn a DVD and mail it for anyone, sorry.

Buddy lives in Columbia SC and runs tournaments at Karls Korner. I was at an event there a couple years ago...about the time they get us down to the final 12, Buddy has to be taken off in an Ambulance. I'm not sure if his health is the greatest anymore...I know his pool game isn't. He used to play rather sporty late in his prime back at Mother's in Charlotte.

Baltimore Bullet

I'd like a copy if the VCR to DVD issue gets worked out. Willing to pay for shipping etc. Please PM me if you can help.
