The "Holy Grail" of cue cases! I'm Smiling!

I think they are beautiful cases. I don't think they are what I would call "real" Fellini's. I don't think the exterior's are done by Fellini and "Real" Fellini's have Fellini exteriors.

I mean no insult here. Just an opinion. And.. by the way, I like John's input in this thread and don't see him as selling anything.

I look forward to paying tribute to these beauties on a GTF base and seeing if we can do even half as good a job.

The case troll strikes again. This is perhaps your lowest point John. You seriously need to seek out some professional help for your sickness... really...

Nor are you complaining when people sell their Instroke and Whitten knockoffs on here. (and YOU should be complaining as you are a Whitten dealer)

I beg to differ John... again, spouting off with no facts...

I absolutely care. Whitten makes the most functional and protective case in the business IMO. I have a custom Justis also and love Jack's cases as well; but I like the Whittens better as an everyday case. I just ordered a brand new custom Whitten to match a Dave Kikel cue I just received. Both Jack and Joe Whitten are great to work with. You can call them and have a conversation about their cases and your design.

It makes me furious to see an EXACT rip off of a Whitten being offered without regard to the original maker. I just sold a lighlty used Whitten on AZB for $275 shipped. You can find good used Whitten cases for about the same $$$ as the rip off imports. If you are looking at purchasing one of the rip offs, do yourself a favor and look for a good used Whitten. I promise you will not be sorry you did.

It is one thing if the company wants to produce their own design of cases. Ripping off the Whitten design is a whole other story.

Bravo. I stand corrected and applaud you for stepping up at least once. Now did you do this BEFORE you became a Whitten dealer when people were selling Whitten knockoffs on AZ?

I only ask because I haven't really seen you as a crusader against copying in the past which is probably why I mistakenly overlooked this tidbit you came up with.

Real or fake Fellini whatever, these babies are ridiculously hot! DWBOD if you are taking too much flack you can just ship them to me and I'll take the shots for you!

Yes... this post was made 09-24-2007, at 08:17 AM...

Now... I will not hijack Doug's thread showing off these great cases any longer.

I have had no less than ten pm's or phonecalls today asking, "Why is John Barton such a tool?" My answer, he is the most insecure, self centered, self righteous, self praising, self destructive piece of work you will ever run across. Thanks for taking yet another thread John and running it into oblivion to try and accomplish your retard quest. By the looks of my rep box you are hated more than I thought. Keep up the good work and make sure you post pics of all your copies when they're finished. This will be my last post in my own thread. Thanks to everyone else for all the kind words, please feel free to continue the flamefest on the chinese casemaker of the year.

Doug does this mean your thread wasn't ruined enough that you got fed up and thought "I'm gonna send these cases to MikeyFrost and let him deal with this crap?" Oh well was worth a try, one day the super case will appear in my head and I will have it built...

Nice cases though at any rate, reallll niceeee.

sh*t Doug you mean I didn't do a good enough job in my basement??? I did use Neat Lac dam*it! I guess the secret is out

Best to you my Brutha, don't let the haters wear you down. Nice cases you have there, truly the best of the best

I would think a master case builder could do them easily with tooling already completed. As for Mr John's honesty it is just that. Braided cases? Harder to cut the seam perfect rather than have to $$hit can the whole piece of tooled leather after a miss cut. That may be why these were done in this fashion. The work was too expensive to chance it. When educated people give an honset opinion as painful a$ it may be to hear I have to say Chance favors the educated mind.
And when it comes to cases where most peoples mind ends Mr John's beguins. His knowledge can't be deminished by the slings and arrows of outragious mis fortune.
Congrats on the fine art you have Mr Doug.
Nick :)

Doug, you better run and buy a lottery ticket as you have hit the jackpot with these two monsters. Congrats, Stan

Great, Great Cases............

Thanks Lenny, nicely said in a concise manner.

Doug

Doug,

These two cases are unbelievable finds, and either one is a keystone to a world class case collection. Monster Gus cues would feel right at home in them, and I can imagine how pleased you are to have them as part of your collection.

Congratulations on the acquisitions, and thanks for taking the time to share them for everyone on AZ.

I also want to commend you for the great way you are approaching your collection-building. You quietly buy and sell really nice cues and cases for a modest profit, put the funds away for the eventual rainy day that always comes. Such as when the door knocked and these two appeared.

Pardon me I differ with you opinion. I honestly think John Barton is like the many who are on the cutting edge of their profession. John Barton IMHO is one of the few guys who works out of the box, he is an innovator, and could be a genius. IMHO he know more about the billiard industry, its history, secrets, than most of the people on this forum. He get a lot of SH** from people who can not stand his version of truth. Most attach him, as they have ZERO AMMO to attack what he says! JMHO.

Fellinis or conversions whatever. Those are the two most attractive and highest quality cases I've ever seen. As Will said, pop that top of and slide some HUGE Gus out of there and all would be right with the world.

Thanks for having them and showing them

Kevin
