I've been buying cues since 1987 and had them all. Even the ones no one has heard of I still have like Tim Padgett, Myron K... From Ariel C, Bill S, Dave Ker, Dennis S, Eddie P, Jerry McW, Joe Gold, Jerry F, Mike C & Tim S, Pete T, Rich & Rick P, Gus & Barry S and so on I can name them all and had more than one from each. As far as playability Pete Ohman's Ebony Forearm with 3/8x11 pin plays and hits the best for rotation games. From the hit and the "Tink" sound to the cue ball reaction - Pete's cues with just a Triangle Tip will outplay most of my High End ones that have Kamuis or Mooris on them.
I'm not knocking the others down, I think they play monstrous as well aside from how well they were made. They play just as good. It's just my preference on performance over all my cues and the ones I've had. Imagine a horse race where all the horses are on the line... Pete's nose is just an inch forward to photo finish line.
And this of course will depend on the type of grip one has on his cue and how he strikes the CB. For example my friend whom has a Death Grip on a cue can never tell the difference between a steel joint and a wood to wood pin... But if you let the cue do the hitting with slight cradle to no grip you will notice how each cue responds on center ball, draw, force follow hits... Based on that - Pete's cues to me is the Hannibal Lector of all Monsters! Discreet but Tactical.
