The most racks ran

Whats the most 9-Ball, 8-Ball, and 7-Ball break-n-runs in a row?

I know Johnny Archer has done 13, is that the highest for 9-ball?

Archer ran 15.
13 and out and two more on the next set but he lost that set and quit.
Neils Feijen ran 15 I believe on a Kim Steel table ( tight pockets ).

I ran a rack one time.. and then I broke, made a ball - and played the 1-9 combo... I'm sure that's about the highest 9ball run ever.

It's correct with Feijen. If you log into www.eurotour.nu and check the link Players, most of the best players have stated their highest 14-1 break, 8-ball & 9-ball packs.

Here are some of them:

Ralf Souquet 11 B&R in 8-ball, 13 in 9-ball and 285 in 14-1
Niels Feijen 8, 15 and 259
Alex Lely 8, 8 and 272
Line Kjorsvik ?, 5 and 116
Oliver Ortmann ?, 11 and 326
Thomas Engert 13 ,7 and 491
Nick van den Berg 7, 12 and 257
Daryl Peach 10, 9, 334
Jasmin Ouschan, 4, 6 and 126
Stephan Cohen, 8, 10 and 295

larry nevel has broke and ran 13 racks in a row 6 or 7 times he has quit a few times at 13 thats his lucky number .:) :)

Niels Feijen's 15-pack was believed to be the 9 ball record when he did it a few years ago. I beieve it happened while Niels was warming up for a Eurotour event.

Many years ago, I heard that Lassiter ran a 21-pack in nine ball and asked my friend Irving Crane whether it was true. Irving said he had heard about it, too, but that nobody could verify it. Irving did add, however, "I would not doubt it!" Lassiter was, by far, the best nine-baller back then. Still, it is iffy whether Lassiter's 21-pack ever happened.

I got an accustats tape where Jimmy Mataya asks Danny DiLiberto what the most ever racks of 10-ball ran was. Diliberto says that Detroit Whitey ran 9 straight racks of 10-ball. IMO I think that is stronger than 13 or 14 racks of 9-ball considering the break factor of a 10-ball rack.

I agree 100%.

Whitey did that in a ring game in Johnston City in the 60s against the best players in the world. When Whitey broke on the tenth game, the cue ball jumped the table, and Whitey immediately quit.

Hard Pressed

I think to find anyone beating Matlock's 28 9 ball racks on a bar table. That was told to me directly by David. i don't know what his big table record is, but I do know it is double digits. I watched him run 9 racks on a big table at Rumors here in Wichita in a 7 way $10 ring game in 10 ball.

Doesn't our very own Nick Serdula run 13 or 14 racks all the time?!?!

All the time? I would wager very high against that. Guess it depends on what you call all the time.

I watched Danny Medina run 14 on a very tight GC.

I've heard the story before about Matlock running the 28 in a $10 ring game too. All I can say about that, is who in the hell is going to stand there and watch one person shoot for 28 straight games. Now, that is torture. {I probably would have been one of them}

i know him...

My comment about Nick running 13 or 14 racks was a joke. He claims that he used tobe able to string dozens of racks together all the time. And that some guys that he knew would break and run out for four or five rounds of tournaments.

See thread below:

i know Nick personally and him running 13-14 racks is a joke... there is no way he has EVER run that many... ive never seen him run 13-14 BALLS in a row... much less Racks...

Thank you! That actually makes me happy to hear (read, whatever!). :D

A guy that Strickland lived with said he ran twenty something straight 9-ball racks in practice. I can't remember, 23 maybe? I do remember for sure the first digit was a 2, which made it a little unnecessary to remember the second digit because my 7 was a little short. I'd bet a million dollars he wasn't lying.

> The Matlock story has made it's way to me several times, and the people telling me this said that 28 may have been the high, but 20-something was supposedly put together by David a few times. If you were playing the types of guys that are subject to lose 5000 in a 100 dollar game,I can see where packages like that were possible. There was a story told to me by a guy that hung out in the old-timer's room here in town about 3 local kids that passed 7-8 rack runs out like Halloween candy in 5-10 a man ring games back in the 70's. He said back in those days,a man that called himself a pool player wouldn't quit until he was 50 games stuck. Try finding people now that won't want to adjust if you get 10 ahead, much less taken around the world 3 times with the coin. Willie Mosconi ran an unfinished 13 on some yo-yo that interrupted his and Andrew Ponzi's lunch. He kept woofing at them for a game,Mosconi simply drills him, then tells his backer that he can't pull up on his now, because he hasn't shown what HE can do yet,as opposed to the 13 Willie handed him. Tommy D.

I would bet a million on that. And who ever ran 13 in arow with tv cameras and a million on the line?
