Well, my little string of bad luck continues.
Here is a brand new Cory Barnhart cue. I just got it from Cory, and sold it here on AZB. Well, we all know how gentle the post office is in handling their shipments.
Honestly, is there any real way that this could have been accidental? To me, it looks like it had to be intentionally done to totally destroy it like this.
I wrapped it in bubble wrap, and packed it in a tube. Then, I packed the tube in a new Post Office triangle box. Here is the result.
Nothing is left usable. I had hoped that we could save the forearm, but it is split right through the points. The butt sleeve is salvagable, though.
It was insured, but not at full retail value. My last post office claim took 4 hard, grueling months to settle. They kept denying it based on the fact that I had "overstated" the value. I had a $500 claim on a $1500 cue. They finally paid when the cuemaker gave me a certificate of replacement value.
