This was one of the best pool weeks for me in quite some time. So, naturally, I figured while I have all of this nice momentum, why not go and take down the tournament this weekend at Castle Billiards in Clifton, NJ?

I mean, as long as MD, Earl, Jayson and Darren don't mind an H player getting in on some of the fun... :grin-square:

Well, anyhow, here in CT the forecast is for 8-10 inches of snow but it wasn't supposed to get started until after noon and I'd be in NJ by then. Unfortunately, it's already coming down steady here and the roads are covered. Going west to NJ it will only be worse.

I'm gonna miss seeing everyone there and so I'll have to settle for watching it on aztv which will be the very next best thing.

Is that a sigh of relief I hear from the champions that they no longer have to worry about playing through the chicken? :rotflmao:

Travel safe everybody and have fun.

best,
brian kc

Brian

I grew up in Buffalo and we never let a little snow stop us there. Of course, I didn't let it stop me when I fled to sunny CA either.

Yea I live in south jersey and I don't think I'm gonna make it up that way tonight either. Weather forecast looks bad and I wouldn't mind being stranded with a bunch of ppl who enjoy the game as much as I do but that stupid thing called responsibility is a real b!tch
Sometimes

Darren Appleton just called me to tell me how relieved he is that Brian cannot play. "Now I have a real shot at this thing." is what he told me. Wait a minute. There's the phone again...

That was Dechaine. He had considered pulling out but now that the heavy-hitter is on the sideline he will go ahead and play. "I can't tell you how much pressure that takes off."

Damn.

here's a shot of yours truly from a few months ago with a young gun who came to me looking to learn The ChickAim System.

He knows of what he speaks regarding avoiding a chicken who's on a roll (cue Homer Simpson with drool, 'mmmmmm, chicken on a roll...').

Rest easy Mike & Darren, your snow dance proved successful... :)

why thank you Jam.

Mike got that tiny waist along with those broad shoulders in just one week after doing the ChickBreak drills.

we got him breaking a hair over 35mph now.

I'm at about 41. :grin-square:

KC you remind me of Brian Posehn when he doesn't have a beard, except he is like 6'4". Unless you're on your knees in that pic, I know that's not the case.

yeah, he was stuck at 32mph for a while but we got him the extra 4 mph.

The ChickBreak is all in the leg kick (see below).

Thanks for the pics. Mike has the fastest break I have seen, easily 10 over my best:o

I might be interested in some ChickBreak lessons when I head that way next.

Until then I will study the pics.

Brian, thats why we have 4 x 4s and snow machines up here.

Nothing stops us from getting where we need to go.

I thought it might have been the super long stroke all the way down to the wrap. That finish on the break is just great.........he must have hit em so hard the cue ball incinerated on contact.LOL!!

Maybe one day ill be that good.

I find it interesting that given Jerry's comments in this thread, the 2 notable no-shows were:

Mike Dechaine

Darren Appleton

what does that tell us?

Fear the Chicken!
