I got a call about 20 minutes ago from the guy that staked Tony when we played. There are two things that he wants to make perfectly clear:
1) Tony had "absolutely" nothing to do with incidents that happened with me in reference to the 34,000.00 coming up missing and he has nothing to do with a similiar situation that arose with Chris Bartum about a month prior.
2) The guy that staked Tony has "ASSURED" me that I will be getting a phone call in the next two days that will say something like this. "Lil Jon, come get all of your money back, I found out exactly what happened and I am going to meet you at the airport in Boston and give you your money back."

Now, I want to say that I appreciate the fact that you guys are trying to get this straight and I also will make a "Public Apology" to Tony and his crew once this matter is resolved fully. I also will do anything that I can to restore Tonys name in the pool world. I want to also say that after having a conversation with Eddie(Tonys Stakehorse) about 20 minutes ago that I really do have confidence that this is all going to work out. I know you guys are going to think that I am being "NIEVE" to think that I am going to get all my money back but I truly believe that "EDDIE" is going to make this right in the next two days. This post will be continued in two days by me........LJOHN

John, don't meet any of them in any parking lot. Meet them in the terminal, where many people will be. I like ya, John. Would like to see you around for a while. GOOD LUCK.

No trust...

It is admirable to here that you still want to see the good in people, but like the previous posters I think it would be a good idea that your meeting is in a crowded place. Your too young and talented for some $hi!bird to screw it up.

Yes, I think he should be cautious. But what would he be afraid of? They already HAVE his money?!

WHY do YOU have to fly to Boston? It would seem, logistically speaking, that the monies could be sent to you via Western Union.

It is good that the two of you are communicating. I think the Boston participant(s) should fly down SOUTH to your neck of the woods to return the monies. Or, in the alternative, Western Union offices are all over the country.

Another option would be having the Boston participant(s) obtain 17 money orders for 1,000 each from the Post Office. All 17 of them could be sent to you PRIORITY OVERNIGHT via Federal Express.

Although me getting ripped off for my laptop computer in NEW YORK last month pales in comparison to your loss, I can state with assuredness that I would have NEVER received compensation had I not voiced my displeasure via letters, e-mail, and phone calls with a variety of folks, to include the law enforcement agency, Better Business Bureau, Marriott Headquarters, and the Albany newspaper. The squeaky wheel does get greased. It's a shame that one has to create a ruckus, just to get back what, in reality, is yours. Considering the magnitude of YOUR LOSS, it should have NEVER gone this far (IMO).

Good luck to you, and I look forward to reading a happy ending! :)

Were you fully reimbursed for your stolen laptop?

I just signed and mailed a "release" form yesterday to the Courtyard Marriott in Albany, NY, and, yes, they are going to reimburse me for the total cost of my Sony laptop computer, 600 bucks and some change, which is what I paid for it in 2003.

When I spoke to the manager of the Courtyard Marriott in Albany recently, he was amiable, professional, and accommodating.

I believe in my heart of hearts that I would have NEVER received compensation had I not voiced my discontent via letters, e-mail, and phone.

I cannot imagine how I would feel if I had been ripped off for 17 dimes, as was Liljon!

Recently, I was watching A&E "Cold Case Files," and this lady, who was ripped off by a "friend," agreed to meet him at the airport to get her money back. The incident occurred in New England, as I recall. She was NEVER heard from again. They found her disintegrated body in a ditch closeby to the airfield many years later, and the forensic scientists nailed the "friend" as the murderer.

If I were Little John, I'd invite the northern players to a rematch on a level playing field, maybe in Louisiana, and he could at least show 'em the sights.

"Goodbye Joe, me gotta go, me oh, my oh
Me gotta go pole the pirogue down the Bayou
Little John, the sweetest one, me oh, my oh
Son of a gun, they'll have good fun on that Bayou!" ;)

Listen to, JAM, and me, John. BE SMART.

I am still very interested in the details of just how the money came up missing and what measures it took to get it returned.

Getting the money back is the best part, but I'd sure like to know who planned and carried out the heist.

I can't accept that it was just a lone crook, not with a room of people with money "under" the table.

"I found out exactly what happened" ROTFLMAO yeah he found out his action just got knocked from Boston to Bangledesh and he will never get a game.

I'm just curious about a few things that have been brought up in other posts on this thread.....

Has anyone ever flown with $17K+ in cash? It's not like it's just a small stack of $100's that can be hidden. How do you explain this?

Has anyone ever tried to cash $17K+ worth of money orders or wire transfer? Banks and institutions have to report anything $10K+ to the IRS....

Just curious.

Hey Roscoe,

I'm sure this why JAM mentioned 17 different M.O.s for a grand a piece. Take your time cashing them and no one knows and there is no reporting issues.
