Too many in the booth. Too much arguing. I never thought I would say this, but Danny has to go. If Pat can't see and hear this, he's not listening. You can feel the tension in the booth. Johnnyt

Danny has had to go for a looooooooooooong time.

He might have been good one at time, but he calls so many wrong shot now.

Danny

Sometimes we think we no longer want to hear someone speak. I have felt that way about some older gentleman in my poolroom. Then they are gone and I truly miss their voice and stories.

I for one am not looking forward to the day when I can not look forward to hearing Danny's commentary on live stream. I have met him a few times and he is a very nice guy to talk to and always takes time to chat with folks.

Pat, ,AZ and all the other major streamers keep Danny in the booth!!!

Danny told some fresh stories I hadn't heard. He is fine. People whine about everything. It's a free stream - be happy we have commentary at all and especially from esteemed people like Danny Diliberto and Pat Fleming.

If you don't like it then turn off your sound. I like to hear Danny.

Danny

it does not help the image of our sport to have a broadcaster who speaks fifth-grade English.

While some of his stories seem entertaining, Danny is behind the times in knowing the true speed of these players. Look at how he disregarded Little Ko as if he would need work just to be a local champion. The guy is a junior world champ & has high finishes in some of the game's biggest events yet Danny talks of him as if he is some nobody.

If you are going to have someone commentate, have it be someone who actually knows what they are talking about.

Don't get me started on Eddie who just wants to hear his voice & never shuts the hell up. The only half way decent person in the booth besides Pat was NJPoolplayer who seems to be the most focused of the bunch calling the actual match.

A commentator calling what they are seeing, what a novel concept!

You know what is the longest and hardest thing in the world for a truck driver ?
5 th grade.

Hey, I resemble that Mikey. Don't you remember that I was a Truck Driver most of my life.

I graduated from High School also. Where I learned many things, mostly in the parking lot, Pool Halls and Bars way under age.

Wasn't great at a lot of things, but put a steering wheel in my hands, and I got the stuff to where it needed to be.

Anyway, Danny is an icon. I have watched and listened to Older Actors give speeches during the Oscars, Emmys and so on, that thought they were still capable.

Faltering voices that were once young, forgetting now, more lines, even tho they are written down on a piece of paper directly in front of them.

At some points, even feeling a little embarrassed for them.

Give Danny his dues. He isn't going to make many more years in the booth. Not saying that he is going to pass, just that he likely won't be able to be there physically.

And once he is gone for good, people are going to start Threads saying, "Gee, I sure miss listening to Danny's stories in the booth.

May or may not have been heard from the booth.............

"So far, this Chinese fellow has poked out 9 of the lights on Zuglan's tables by stroking into the air between shots."

"Watch this folks, he's going to load the cue ball with reverse intake side-vacuum suck."

"The players just took another break. Apparently they had something from the snack bar, similar to a systems flush."

"We hope you'll buy the stream for the Race to 1,000 in 9 Ball.....20 day extravaganza next month. Right now the special price is $159 for all 20 days. That's $7.95 a day for those of you with no math skills."

"This player doesn't claim to be the best player in China. He says he's 2nd best out of 1.5 Billion people and hasn't missed a ball since he was 15."

"If you stand there and stare long enough at the shot, you can move the ball by telekinesis and get enough to play safe."

"We're joined in the booth here by Jacques St LA Pierre from Shelburne, Ontario. He's Captain of his pool league and he's going to fill in for me while I take a quick break. Don't heckle or criticize him now because he was banned for life from Hockey for killing a guy on the ice. Here he is 6'9" Jacques." "Il fait face à un difficile abattu ici sur la table, mais puisqu'il est un maître, il devrait être en mesure d'empocher la boule."

"This guy is a self professed pool savant and served time for robbing the Dollar Store."

"We're joined in the booth by Pi Lee Chang, the National Billiard Team Coach for China. Welcome Pi." "In US you play with Elephant balls. In China, you touch Elephant balls, you get trample to death by elephant."

As was pointed out the stream is free.

The commentators have a lot of time to fill in and I don't think it is easy. I don't see too many standing in line begging to get in the booth.

I don't view the talk any different than when Howard and Dandy Don made what is now Sunday Night Football with their constant bantering. When those two left MNF the ratings fell.

Danny's stories do get a little old but hang anyone long enough and theirs will also.

Would you rather have Mitch Laurance and ESPN's pocket cam?

You can always turn of the audio and pretend that you are in a front row chair with no commentary.
