Toupee Jay's pool room

Who climed up in the attic to hang the light??........I have a visual of Jay climbing around in the rafters mounting hooks.

It was amazing how that light got hung. After Realkingcobra worked for a few hours getting the table set-up just right, he looked at the light on the floor and asked me who was going to hang it. I told him I had a local electrician I was going to call. He said no need for that and jumped up on the table and started drilling holes in the ceiling (he had put a cover over the table). He hung that light (by himself) in about thirty minutes, and charged me NOTHING! I seriously doubt my electrician could have done the job nearly as quickly and the bill wouldn't have been cheap.

Thank you Glen!

thanks

Who took the picture above the No Gambling sign with you wearing a red shirt? Do you have a better close-up of that one? :)

JAM....

Seriously...you have some good eyes!! I didn't even notice it looking at the photos. Of course, I had to go look for the original photo. What an adventure that can be. 90 minutes later....

Finally....

And then a Old School B+W....like in the Jay's book.

Those are really great photographs, Rick. I meant it. Wow!

You can see the line between his bridge arm and the stroke arm, forming a triangle, and then the look in his eyes is priceless. Check out the railbirds in the background sweating Jay's shot. :p

Thanks! I had a good subject.

Jay was intense!! You can see it in his eyes, he meant business.

I can usually tell if a photo was taken during competion, or during a practice session. (or posing) You just can't get this type of shot.

In the last photo, there is one thing that sticks out like a sore thumb Jay...so much so I would almost red rep you. Seriously...the power cord for the TV has got to go. ;)

Beautiful room sir (except that which I already mentioned)

My Wife's with you there...she can't stand seeing wires anywhere.

Jay...I just had to cover up mine in my office. Home Depot sells these covers (20-30 bucks) that are super easy to put on. A couple screws, and that's all.

It's big enough inside to run cable from computer to the TV. Which really comes in handy. Makes it nice watching streaming!

I still need to paint it :(

My wife and I saw the photos last night and I said to her - "here is man who has his priorities right. There's the dining room and there's the pool room!" Wasn't enough to convince her to put a table in our living room but it may have planted the seed!

That is one real fine pool room, Jay. Sure wish I could right-click, copy & paste it in my house!

Great room Jay. How far are you from the Swanee tournament at Hollywood billiards?

DRW...Hollywood Billiards is closed, and they are selling the pool tables. The next Swanee event will be held at Hard Times in Bellflower...which is a heck of a lot closer for Jay anyway!

Scott always has the inside scoop. Yesterday they had a fire sale at Hollywood Billiards and sold everything off. And there is a very good chance next year's Swanee will be at Hard Times, which is only twenty minutes from my house.
How does Scott know all this stuff? I have no idea. I think he has some pretty good sources.

15th Annual Jay Swanson

I was reeading this thread and thought I would give up the latest news.

The Swanee will be at HardTimes Feb 12-13, 2011.

The details will be posted by next weekend. It is a Sat-Sunday event.

I really appreciate Eddie stepping up and giving us a place to play. i cannot believe this is the 15th year!!

It will be basically the same - limited to 192 players.

More info to follow.

Jay - We have the same tables... both set up by Glen... 'cept I've got tournament blue for my cloth. And it looks like you have the standard pro cut pockets as well... right?

And the other difference between our tables that you may want to consider... I had Glen remove all of the advertising decals on my table. The only lettering left on the table are the script "Diamond"s that are engraved into the sides of the short rails. Removing all the decals makes a nice clean-up imo... making the Pro Am look less industrial.

I'll post a pic later.

Nice room... I like it, brother. :thumbup2:
