For the past several months there have been many post and threads about Trudeau. Most of the posters have been in the agreement that he is a liar, and a con man,and they wouldn't do business with him, period.Well if that's the way he's perceived by the people that feel that way,I can't argue that point because I too think he's a liar and a top notch con man. But the difference between me along with a lot of professional pool players and the people that were aforementioned is that we need a person with the ability of a Trudeau to take us to that place that we have all dreamed of . The land of prosperity where we can be respected like professional baseball players, and other athletes in the world. A place where we can earn enough money to live like the aforementioned people ,and I hope that we will not be denied of that. When the IPT tournaments were existing we felt special and respected, and lets be real , pool players just don't feel that way for reasons that aren't worthy of discussion. I guess you can consider us desperate and hungry for some respectfull recognition, and every thing else that goes along with it. Can you blame us? Furthermore, we have paid our dues in many more ways then the IPT fiasco and now we are in a position were we have nothing to lose, simply because everything that has happened to us in regard to the IPT is over and theres no going back ,everything that was lost is lost. But we did gain the experience of dealing with a man like Trudeau , so why can't we try to exploit him like he did us? Lets allow him to offer us deals where we have the option to deal or no deal, that's always a good position to be in. So from this pool players prospective, deal me in and let me decide when to fold them.

..........Huh?

Maybe a kitty walked across his keyboard and hit the enter key before he was done.

I think poolplayers will follow the money,it doesnt matter who the person is and how unsavory they are and i can understand why they do this.If more companies that are making money would give back then this would be helpful,i suggest that people start buying products from billiard companies that have tours and sponsor events, its a good step in the right direction. You have Joss,Pechauer,Viking and some others who do things but there are companies who dont do enough but just take the money and dont put it back into the sport to make it grow and also make their profits grow also.JMO. ;)

The problem Billy is, and no offense intended, this guy is so far beyond any pool hustler's realm of thinking that it is nearly impossible for you to try to take advantage of him.

Want some interesting reading of what KT is up to now....

If you don't want to read it, at least watch the YouTube video.

The problem is that pool players will not stick together (Kevin Trudeau knew this from the start). And as long as the "every-man-for-himself" mentality still goes on, the sport as a whole will continue to suffer.

Billy

Trudeau has about 4 different options for every step along the way, and you will never know which one of those options he will take at any given moment.

I have been playing 46 years, and other than leagues and more local and regional tournaments, not that much has changed.

Number 1, there has to be a national recognition of billiards as a sport. Number 2, it has to be organized as such, with a ladder structure reporting to a national association, with defined levels of play with equitable compensation per each level. The national association would then coordinate with the international association for International requirements and events.

For the sport to perpetuate itself, we have to have the kids involved, with inter-school competition at the Jr. High & High School levels. College competition, and get it into the Olympics.

That's about as concise as I can make it.

I don't really like him as a person, or at least what he shows to the world.

I do like that he did try and will try again to save pool. That means alot to me and I would hope to most pool players. He may have failed, but it looks like he isn't giving up

save pool?

Sorry, that is a joke, and a bad one. KT doesn't want to save pool, he wants to make a buck off of it. He will lie, do whatever it takes to do that. Anyone that goes in for the big lie the second time around has only themselves to blame. In truth, the people that made life changing decisions based on anything KT said the first time with much of his history already on the table have to shoulder a large part of the responsibility for their own troubles.

KT's actions helped a handful of people who were in the right place at the right time and hurt many times more who spent money based on a three year guarantee that was false. Anybody remember that KT was supposedly worth two billion and put his personal guarantee behind the IPT? The five million he stiffed folks for and doled out over time was less than 0.3% of his supposed worth. If he had a fraction of what he claimed to, he could have taken that out of petty cash.

KT's actions have also hurt professional pool too. He damaged every existing tour and event running roughshod over them, and he raised false expectations that nobody using a real business model can hope to match. As I somewhat expected, pool players were mostly the window dressing for KT's con, he hoped to rope in sponsors and networks similar to the poker boom. Only when that didn't happen did the mythical deal with Ho become the backbreaker of the IPT. Nobody is blindsided by a bill winding it's way through congress and internet gambling has always been illegal in the US. However, it was a new excuse and those that are grasping at straws are willing to accept it.

KT has made his way by hustling desperate people from the beginning, nothing has really changed. KT may or may not have any interest in pool any longer. What he does have an interest in is a soft landing for pool players because as I pointed out in another thread he still has huge legal liability and even country club jails aren't as much fun as running around with the rich and famous.

Billy,
You are the one of the utmost respected people in the pool world...why on Earth would you want to put anymore trust, hope, dreams, etc. into a con man such as Trudeau? He has a past of being nothing but a scheister. Pool does need someone that can get everyone involved and make a huge impact, like the IPT was SUPPOSED to do, but not someone who will be gone tomorrow. In any event, if someone or some company should come in and give pool the financial backing that it deserves, you would definitely get my vote as a Player Rep. for the tour. JMO.

Again i ask someone to tell me someone other than KT who has put that much of their own money on the line for a pro tournament. Let's grow up kids of course he is out to make money. Are you saying that Diamond billiards, Viking, Joss , and many others are not. Please quit with the childish statements and stick to facts.

Lie down with dogs, and you will get fleas.

There have been several opportunities in my life to make lots of money, engaging in questionable practices. I chose not to. I refuse to compromise my morality for the almighty buck. And regardless of what you might hear, I am not a wealthy man by any means. That is why I continue to work hard to make a decent living.

Those who know me, know that I live a middle class lifestyle. I'm not poor, but I'm certainly not rich financially. I am rich in the fullness of my life. And what more can someone ask for?

I dont recall anyone from Diamond, Viking or Joss repetetively charging peoples credit cards and going to prison for it....I also dont recall, when Camel was the Pro sponsor, them ever promising something and delivering it at 11% at a time. KT is a scam artist plain and simple. He is out for KT and thats all. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice and shame on me.

I agree. That's the heart of the problem. No U.S. men's pro pool organization has ever been able to hold together for more than a few years. The very mentality that equips a guy to be a top pool player works against any effort to be organized. Most of these types of guys don't cotton to groups. Women on the other hand work very well in a hierarchy, and are willing to do what they're told. That's why they can maintain well in a group, and make up a nice package which can be promoted and marketed.

I see Billy's point. Since all pros are aware of KT's track record, if he offers a verifiable, money escrowed deal, players would go for it. Otherwise, they'd pass. KT is not likely to offer any deals like that.

I've never tried to support Trudeau as a person, he obviously has shown the world where he stands with his commitments, and his honor at stake. I'm mainly concerned about the players and our game, in terms of reaching our potential. Trudeau may be the snake most people believe he is but you must recognize his remarkable ability to promote products. I'm not asking the players to blindly follow Trudeau, we have already been down that road, what I am suggesting is that we the players ,at this time have nothing to lose so why not exercise our ability to choose what we like and what we don't like.Once again any time you have an option to play or pass it can't be bad.

IMO the majority of PEOPLE who know KT and/or his antics loath him.

Any business venture he's involved with will be scrutinized with a VERY, VERY powerfull microscope.

MANY OF THE 'IMMACULATE" CAN"T SURVIVE THE SCOPE.

If KT wants to pursue financial gain for himself and pool players through the game he would be best served as a transparent "invester" working through a well respected front person. DA is a lightweight and MS comes across as a shyster.

BUT, there are options if KT opens his eyes.....

Ah, could you make that a proctoscope, please.
Doug

Proctoscopy: ... the proctoscope is lubricated and inserted into the rectum, and then ... be mildly uncomfortable as the proctoscope is inserted further into the rectum....

*KT promised the poolplayers plenty and then he rectum.
