True Confessions

Oh, Zbotiman, I certainly hope that the day I stop playing in heels will be the day that the undertaker ties a tag to my toe.... and I really hope that tag is pink as well.

Katie Girl is a cute name for the board, and if you are looking for a sucker, but when you start fishing in shark infested waters, you need a back up name, how about Katie the Killer (last name) or Hell On Heels (last name).

Hey , irock - she might not be using the name currently , but on this board , Hell on Heelz will always be Ashley Nandrasy ! Anyone who tries to hijack that name will get redballed into the deepest circle of page 522 . . .

Katie Girl , you're new here , so you might not have heard of her ~ Ashley is a pro player who plays in outrageously tall stilettos . When she was going through a bad patch last year , members of this forum came together to pick up her US Open expenses . She didn't win for us , but she played her heart out ! :angel2:

who pis_ed in your Post Toasties ?

:
Some people will tell you that with proper maintenance , your tip should last you for years . Some top pros replace them weekly .

Don't be afraid to jump in & participate in threads- what's the worst that can happen - get yelled at by an anonymous poster ??

I know a LOT of pro players, and don't know ANY that replace their tip "weekly". Who are they?

Mark Jarvis may not be your typical pro, but at the 2005 us open, he ran out of the room after every match and had Joe Blackburn change his tip. I've known him for over 30 years and this isn't the most foolish thing he has done.;)

Asked and answered . Really , though , Scott - giant red letters ?
Just because there are more things in the World of Pool than you have actually witnessed ?

consider anger management . really .

like I said , this is the worst that can happen - then they end up looking . . . . well , you decide !

DRW ~ GREEN coming !!

Hi Ridinda9. Thank you for the edumacation about Ashley Nandrasy; she sounds totally AWESOME! I will make a point of looking her up.

Since this thread began with me asking about table maintenance, and Paulie very sweetly posted a link to a website that has Simonis 860 cloth in a nice Fuschia color, I'll just mention that I ordered the fuschia cloth today.

I contacted Simonis directly and let them know just how disappointed I am that they don't offer cloth in true pink. I heard back from Felice at Simonis; she says that the next time I'm ready to recover my table that maybe, just maybe, Simonis will have pink as one of their offerings.

But for now (I know that many here will be heartbroken) Katie Girl's beautiful pink pool table will be metamorphosing into Katie Girl's not quite as beautiful fuschia pool table. I will make every effort to not openly weep in disappointment as I do my daily drills on my once gloriously pink table.

*Sigh*

Lol

I saw the title and thought Katie was gonna tell us about getting naked and climbing up on her table and ...

I am most frugal with my tips (Being a Scotman and all), and my tips usually last me 2.5 to 3 years. I use a little sandpaper on a new tip to shape and rough up, then use a TipPik on it. Touch up with sandpaper later on if needed.

Personally, I think Freud would have something to say about players that have to whittle on their tips all the time. I am sure it is because of some type of complex.

ridindanine...Okay, you got one person who ONCE changed their tip a bunch of times in one tournament...still a very long way from "pros changing tips weekly". Like I said, who are they?...because the huge majority of pros don't do that. You're the one who made the post.

a gradual retreat . . . ?

Some top pros replace them weekly .

So now you've retreated from
" don't know ANY" to simply
"the huge majority of pros don't do that."
I never said a majority . I said "some" .
And for those "some" , it has to do with the tips they play . Ever wonder who buys all those "soft" tips , when all the hype is for the medium/hard tips ?
After just a short time , those "softs" compress to a "medium".
The only way to keep the 'springiness' is with a new tip .
frequently.
You may not realize they're changing because they may have several shafts set up with the new tips - when they feel the 'spring' going out , they switch the entire shaft between rounds . When they get home ~viola~ new tips .
This was WAY more common before all of todays specialized tips , back in the days when Triangle & LePro were the only choices - maybe my age is showing .
There are more things in Heaven and Earth , Scott , than are dreampt of in your Philosophy.

You are aware , of course , that on the internet , giant red capital letters are the equivalent of screaming in someone's face , right ? extremely rude behavior , that . . . . .

careful what you tell the newbies to do !!

It was a joke, did you think for one second she would change her name. (not)

You never can tell with the Newbies !
Hell on Heelz herself has had at least 3 screen names that I'm sure of . . . . . maybe some I've missed !

I use to replace my tip a couple weeks before a tournament, I used a lepro or a triangle. The triangle was perfect for a few weeks then it got to hard. But great for those 3 weeks.
Now I've had my tip on my cue for...well....years!

Katie, this lady here is one you would do well to model your game after. ;)

Hi Lisa,

Good point about playing league on bar boxes with sticky balls. Though I play in a league that's in-house at Sam's Billiards in Portland, Oregon. We play on 9 foot Brunswick tables with Aramith Super Pro balls. Practice at home on a clean, fast table with clean balls, fortunately, won't work against me for league play.

Thank you Pauli for the link to the (puke) fuchsia cloth. I suddenly feel motivated to move forward with recovering my table. At least I know who to call now... I'll give them a call to see if they can work with me to get me into a piece of Simonis 860 cloth that's a bit brighter than the fuchsia that they have listed.

You don't know the half of it, Pauli... my pool room is decorated with super hero Barbie dolls all over the place... with Betty Page posters and drink coasters... even the 4 ball and the 12 ball are pink... sometimes I even paint my nails to match my pink stick. It's down-right, nauseating, ain't it?

See what happens when there's no man around to keep a girly-girl in check?

I like it a lot better than red! Or even that ugly gold color I see sometimes. Nice looking set-up too!

Bad girl

Neglecting billiard equipment is just so wrong. People do things for strange reasons. I think this may be a cry for help or are you just seeking attention? Nevertheless you have put yourself in a position(possibly your plan) to be punished. When was the last time you had a good old fashioned spanking? My sister lives in Canby Oregon and I will be visiting her in the future. Don't try and hide. I will find you. I know I'm probably playing right into your hand but heh, whatever floats your boat.

That might be the single creepiest post i have read all year. Good job Mr. Wiggles!
