Updat On Richie Florence Ivory Handled Ginacue

Amazing how much better that cue looks!!!!

I held it before refinishing at Ernie's shop.

What a beauty....

Now thats a Cue !

Will,

I met you at Bill's ( Cornerstones Booth ) at the Derby in 2006. I think Richard Black was there also that day with you guy's.

The shaft wood used for this cue is beautiful, what a find and what a piece of history.

Great picture.....thanks for sharing :)

Thanks to all of you for the nice comments. The cue is on its way to me right now, and I am excited to receive it. I plan to open the case and pull the cue out VERY SLOWLY.... enjoying it inch by inch!

Myron, the one picture shows how he had to replace the core inside the ivory in the handle. He had to find dead center to remove and replace the core. The wood strips around the ivory are to protect the ivory during the process. Three-piece handle, rings, partial buttcap, refinish, etc.... A lot of work, and it came out one shade better than perfect. For Ernie, it is expected. Others strive.

chrippa, you are right about the wide core to improve playability.

Rep left for all of you!

Take care,

Will

Thanks!

Hey Will,
Wow, it turned out soooooooo nice. I am happy for you. What a piece of history. I hope to get to see the cue in person one day.

Enjoy it (I know you will) :) :)

Take care and keep in touch,
Jimmy

PS: Ernie is in the final stages of my new cue, so I am getting "pretty" anxious.

Jimmy,

Your cue is coming, and it will be drop dead gorgeous! We will all miss you at VF. Thanks for the comments!

Take care,

Will

Hi Tommyd1,

I remember you well, and remember the conversations while Richard Black was in Bill`s booth. IIRC, you are in law enforcement. I enjoyed our conversation.

Hi everyone,

As many of you know, I purchased Richie Florence`s ivory handle Ginacue in December. This was a monster player used by Richie at the time of some of his greatest wins over almost every big time player of the day.

I asked Ernie Gutierrez to refinish the cue, and he graciously accepted. It took some work by Ernie but the cue looks great, and I wanted to share the update on AZ.

Thanks for looking.

Take care,

Will Prout

Hey Will,
That was a great addition:)
Best,
Ken

Will,

Congrats on a unique one of a kind collectible - Gina Cue, Ivory Handle, and Richie Florence player cue. Truly awesome.:)

WOW :D

I'm usually not a big fan of the "player" design cues but this is a cue that I would LOVE to have. And not because of the history or that it is a Gina its just plain awesome looking.

Enjoy it and congrats

Friend

Richie was a friend of mine and stayed in touch up to the time he passed. I know that he would be proud that you ( Will ) ended up with this cue. Congradulations.
