Nope, I have handed you the nuts. Let's see if you drop them.

I will bet more on almost any match that a Filipino is playing in.

You are only allowed to play in the US Open if you draw a Filipino in the first round.

Alex & Lapena count as Filipinos - I don't care where they lay their head down now.

I dont understand them not playing especially with what Barry did for them last year. All the Filipinos and Kuwait players were seeded and sperated from each other because of how far they travelled. Not to many players were happy about this as we would never be given the same treatment in other countries.

Jay is this also going to be the case this year?

How about 1-3 Mika doesn't win.... 3-1 an American will win and 2-1 a pinoy won't win.

There is a six pack missing from the list.

Where is Orcullo, Luat, Kiamco, Lee Van Corteza, Bustamente, Sambajon ....any other Filipinos I and the entry list is missing?

Roberto Gomez
Ronnie Alcano
Ramil Gallego
Marlon Manalo
Alex Pagulayan
Jose Parica
Efren Reyes

I need more than this for my action with Fatboy or I am in trouble.

.....and the countries are a little strange. Did Jason Klatt give up his Canadian citizenship?

Roberto Gomez # 2 on the 10-13-09 list
Ronnie Alcano # 8 on the 10-13-09 list
Ramil Gallego #68 on the 10-13-09 list
Marlon Manalo #118 on the 10-13-09 list
Alex Pagulayan # 141 on the 10-13-09 list
Jose Parica # 142 on the 10-13-09 list
Efren Reyes # 150 on the 10-13-09 list

I think you misread his post. He was saying that Orcullo, Luat, Kiamco, Lee Van Corteza, Bustamente, Sambajon are missing. The others (the ones you listed) he knows will be there. He was simply naming the P's that WILL be there.

Not if I can help it.

Hey Jay, nothing against Barry, but the country seeding was by far the worst thing in the world. I mean, do the Americans get seeded? Too much BS in my opinion. I will say that Barry has the best tournament in the country, but this little loophole, with our money at the last minute was out of line.

Brian Parks and Morro drew each other first round last year. They play each other every other week. Why weren't they seeded? I, along with 255 other players are putting up 600 entry and at least a dime in expenses. To seperate the countries that only make up a minority of the field is ridiculous.

If I go to an event knowing beforehand this was the case, then thats my fault for going. Dont make this last minute decision once we are there. jmo. Peace

In 2004, they seeded the European players at the U.S. Open because they were shooting in a tournament in Europe, preventing them from making the players meeting on the Sunday when all players were supposed to be on site at the Chesapeake Conference Center.

It did seem a little unfair, as all other competitors, who did pay their entry fee like the Europeans, were told the players meeting was MANDATORY; thus, incurring additional lodging and other travel-associated expenses.

The Europeans arrived on Tuesday, instead of Sunday, and each got a bye in the tournament. That also did not sit well with some of the other competitors who had to be there on Sunday, some playing their first round on Monday.

That said, I realize that Barry is doing everything he can to accommodate all competitors, and this is very admirable. You can't please everybody all the time when it comes to running tournaments. There's always going to be somebody who doesn't like the way something is being handled in pool tournaments. As a TD or pool organizer, it must be hard to deal with.

The Europeans seem to get a free bye, though, and I don't care how good they play. It ain't fair, especially if and when there are Americans who are more worthy of those byes than a European who got one just because he was playing in some European tournament at the same time as the U.S. Open begins.

Today starts the Eurotour Portugal Open, and it finish on either Saturday or Sunday.

Wonder if the same "rule" is in affect this year, with the bye's to the European's competing in both events? (I think all Europeans registered at the US Open, also play the Eurotour)

Does/would the Eurotour do the SAME for the Americans or are we the only suckers as usual? Johnnyt

Oscar, I'm with you on this one. Did you read my post right above yours (#48). That pretty much explains my position on this. But I'm not the only vote and I don't own the event. I will do my best to make the draw fair for all. That's all I can promise you. If two guys from the same country draw each other, so be it. Remember it's double elimination, not single.
