Value of Cues for Current Cuemakers

When I picked my stick up from Jensen cue's he had a Tad that he was redoing because the inlays came out. I was not very impressed with Tad for as much as they cost.

wow i never heard of that, sounds like it was left in a hot car or something, i have 4 tads and used one daily for years-never had a problem.

James Walden also shoots with a Jensen. He is a fraction of the cost of other cues and I think alot better quality then most of them. He was also building one for Cole.

These are some interesting lists, that I have seen. Pretend that this is the year 2010, who do you see as being in the top ten. Take into account Johnny Q Maker may be old and either retired or possibly dead by then. I have not seen BCM, Gilbert or Skip listed yet. I am guessing they could be in the top ten, five years from now. What are your predictions?

Tracy
I have had about all of'em and Pete makes one hell of a pretty cue that plays well and great for the money. Prices are reasonable for the detail, also. Plus, a great guy to work with, and generally loves pool.

I will put a picture of my Jensen on here later. I think for the money Jensen is the best out there. Like I said earlier,James Walden shoots with a Jensen. Mike Johnson "Jensen Cues" is a one man operation and has been building cues for 38 years,if his cues were not any good he would not be in business for this long. He also builds a cue that he calls "The James Walden Edition".

I will add my .02 and give a shout out to Bobby Hunter. I think the combination of the hit and the look are unbeatable.

Mike builds incredible cues, both in terms of quality and playability and he and his wife are two of the nicest people you will ever meet.Mike

What is so special about Ginacue's? I Googled them to find their website, no luck. But I did see some for sale at $99.00?! What gives?

Since I have a soft spot in my heart for Ginacues I will make a deal with you. Every one that you can get for $99 I will let you double your money on. Sound fair?

I will be waiting to hear from you.:)

We all have different levels of exposure, but from what little I know here is my list.

Schick
JW
Ginacue
Szamboti
Hercek
PFD
Blackboar
Tad
Kerschenbrock sp?
Mottey
Wayne
Black
Original SW
Judd

Yeah, I know, that is more than 10 but who cares?

Of course I probably missed a few that belong in that mix but there are many fine cuemakers and one day I would like to have one of each. It will probably never happen but it never hurts to dream.. ;)

Tad are a tough sell.
PFD are a tough sell.
Black are tough sell, once in vouge now not.
Judd, your kidding right?
Wayne - nope.

Southwest just amaze me. I have JF Ebony, got another one coming in about a month, and another one in a few years. Same cue over and over and sells.....

Not trying to be a jerk.

But list a Showman, Hailey, and compare the traffic to a Tad, PFD, Black (I have all 3 of those) Judd, and Wayne.

Ken, I agree with all you said except for the Tad.
A nice Tad usually goes pretty fast.

Interesting how things change. I would definitely modify my list since lasting posting in '05 !!
