while in Las Vegas : be careful about stranger women 'mickying' your drink in night clubs/bars/cocktail lounges etc and then robbing you of your valuables.Don`t be mesmarized by the ' Fake Boob City of USA'.I heard that it became so frequent that there is a unit in the Las Vegas Metro (police department) dealing with this problem alone.
play well,have good time,go home safely!!!

Good lookin' out

Thanks for the heads up. The LVPD should contact me regarding how to put a stop to this. I've got the perfect solution to keep this from happening to me. Mine is about 5'2" and weighs about 130lbs. Doesn't fit in your pocket but it's pretty convenient though.

Do they also take advantage of you or just take your money??? If they don't take advantage of you and just take your money I think I know who it is. It really sounds like my ex wife and I would be happy to give the police her address :)

Good advice for the reverse to - women should not accept opened beer from men they don't know (as an example) b/c it could be spiked.

Scams and scammers are everywhere in Vegas. Taxi drivers automatically take "tourists" from the airport the long way to their hotel. Upscale restaurants pad their bills (look for the extra entree or extra drinks), especially if you've been drinking. If you Valet park your car, leave nothing of value inside. They can and do check trunks and glove boxes. You may encounter someone walking who claims to be broke and needs to sell either his "gold" ring, "gold" chain or his "Rolex" watch. Don't buy any of this crap, even for $20.

There's more but this will give you an idea of how "scam city" operates. Also, be extra careful when gambling. Always be aware of where your cup full of quarters is when playing slots. Someone will distract you, while their accomplice steals it. Same goes for purses, one of the most popular types of thievery around the slot areas. Be careful who stands next to you at a dice table. You must protect your chips in the rack. Same goes for someone who sits down next to you at a Blackjack table. Never take your cue stick to the bar and set it down ANYWHERE! Bye bye cue!

Do you want me to go on? DONT' GET INVOLVED WITH STRANGERS! They are not your friends! Every year MANY people get robbed and killed in hotel rooms. It is one of Vegas' best kept secrets. Parking structures are also good places to get robbed. Walk in pairs! And be extra careful crossing the strip, especially at night. The street is full of drunk drivers. Someone was killed last year in front of the RIV, crossing from the MacDonalds! And finally, in case you didn't know, the downtown area is dangerous at night. Don't go alone!

P.S. One more - the Strip clubs are the worst rip off joints in the world. All of them! If you must have sex, go to an Asian massage parlor. It will cost you $100-150 but you won't get ripped off. Even there you must negotiate.

You should also wear a locked weightlifters belt to avoid having your kidneys stolen.

Damn. I didnt know it was that dangerous here.

The east side of Indianapolis gives Vegas the 6 in watch your ass. At least in any area that a tourist should ever find themselves in. Its no different than anywhere else. Pay attention to whats going on around you and you will probably be just fine.

On the strip you cant spit without hitting two Metro cops, everything anywhere near a casino is on camera.

If you have problems in Vegas it is probably cause you were too hammered to take care of your self or too greedy or stupid to make at least a semi reasonable decision.

Of course that is what this place was built on. It's awesome.

You figure it out. Once upon a time I had to. I'm trying to save some people a lot of aggravation, and MONEY!

Thanks to Vagabond for putting this up at this time of the year when so may of us are going to Vegas for all the pool happenings.

You're right Jay that when this happens to you it's no laughing matter. The trouble is the many after a couple of drinks will forget all these cautions and will fall prey. I would suggest that one should stay with a group or at least a friend that way at least one of you may maintain some common sense.

Hey JCin,

Not true. Ask Joe Blackburn. Someone stole his entire trailer out of the Riv parking lot a couple of years ago. The Riv claimed they have no surveillance in the parking lot or garages. In that one instance, I believe them!

Also don't expect much assisance from the "police" force at the Riv. Their number one job is not hindering business in any way. What happens at the Riv, stays at the Riv. Simply said, pay attention to your location and your situation. Nothing is as it seems in Vegas.

While driving in Vegas remember one important statistic. There are more undocumented, unlicensed drivers in Vegas than anywhere else. It is also a 24 hour drinking town. Pay attention!!!!!!!
