What a tool!!!

Hell most of the posters didn't know the rules and some still don't.

I am very familiar with the rules I just would never call a foul on a shot that obvious. Personally I don't want to win like that but to each their own. Calling a foul was totally unnecessary in this particular instance imo because it goes against the spirit of the rule.

It was not a foul, it was an uncalled non-obvious shot by CSI rules. If you read the CSI rules, the players are absolutely required to call combinations. The CSI rules make it very clear that there are no exceptions.

How is it not a foul if it results in losing your turn at the table?

It wasn't a foul. It was an uncalled shot in a call shot game. This has been pointed out before in this thread.

In fact the opponent could have asked her to shoot again since that is a rule at 10 ball when you pocket an uncalled ball. It was his option.

And while it may be required to call all combos it does not mean your opponent needs to call you on it when the shot is so obvious. But like I said to each their own win however you can by all means necessary. I'll be the better sport myself and never call that on my opponent. Again it goes against the spirit of the rule imo.

we went from hating the asian guy and calling him all kinds of names to now agreeing with him and putting down the girl.
a bunch of fickle ninnies here.

the OP had us thinking it was him saying the mean stuff in the end of the video. and i don't think anyone is blaming savannah, she handled it fairly well. her parents did not.

i think it's a good lesson in the workings of social media too. followers of an influencer are emotionally invested (and sometimes financially invested) in that person which leads to irrational and over the top reactions. it's really kind of scary. mob mentality. had hoang done this against balding shortstop joe schmoe nothing would have happened. now he did it against a social media influencer and was almost hounded out to the nevada desert

Start watching at 13:35. She has a long segment after the commercial break. Enjoy.
Great! Loree Jon's segment on That's Incredible begins at the 21.30 mark and goes until just past 26.00. She first does a truly incredible trick that few players today could duplicate! And then she shoots a really cool shot from the hostess' mouth. Later on the producer told me that it was the second most highly rated episode in the history of the show! It was that good, and Loree Jon was all of 15!

Wow, simply amazing.
Try that one sometime. After I saw that episode I went to my local poolroom and tried to duplicate that shot. After maybe half an hour I was able to do it once. It takes extreme concentration and a very steady hand. I know I could not do it today!

Definitely a triumph, Jay, and it didn't hurt that Loree Jon was a cutie. I'd seen her play by then and had met her father, but I hadn't yet met her.

I'm pretty sure I could never do the pyramid trick. You need the hands of a surgeon!

I disagree with people saying she should have shook his hand. In my opinion she got denied of the game and match because of the so called uncalled shot. You would have to otherwise convince me that he didn't know what shot she was calling, as it was clear and obvious to me. If he truly didn't know that's one thing, but I doubt it. And I understand people's arguments that it's a teaching moment, and rules are rules, I think everyone watching who can play pool knows what shot she was going for. He used the rules to beat her instead of outplaying her. Having read some of the other posts, reasonable people can reach different conclusions, but nothing has changed my mind so far on this topic.

You don't have to change your mind. Everyone knows it's just a technicality, but the fact remains that she was supposed to call the combo, regardless of how "obvious" it was. Also, there's no way to know if that would have made the difference in the match. I'm sure the rest of the match would have played out differently had he not called her on her mistake.

Side note, I watched the guy play a match the next day. He seemed polite and respectful. The guy obviously just sees the importance of the rules differently than some of us.

I have no doubt this guy is polite and respectful. Just to me it seems like a sleazy way to win. I get he didn't do anything wrong, and he is just following and enforcing the rules. I play and match up all the time, and I would never feel ok to win like that on a technicality even when a good amount of money is at stake. But point taken.

I agree with you:)
