What exactly makes a Diamond the better table??

When he tried to get out of one of my "Locked Up Tighter Than Janitor in a Drum, Safeties." Thats When! :grin: His Diamond plays the Lights Out Nuts versus his GC. I would also give some big time kudo's to the Marc Lehmacher Atlantis Table from the 90's. That was a straight pool players table for sure!

Dude, that is nice. Real nice. I wish I had space in my house for a pool table. the Diamond is the way to go. Along with playing well they look so frickin' nice.

Hand sanitizer....when put on a rag, and used to wipe down the inside of the pocket where the balls hit...will remove all the excess dye from the leather...and when used to wipe off the balls from the black marks....will remove them in seconds

That Phoenix sun will get to you. When I took my son to enroll at ASU, the temperature hit 117 degrees and I thought that was pretty warm (I was from Tucson where it peaks out normally at 108 degrees). When I moved to the California desert in 2006, the temperature hit 124 degrees. Now, that's hot.
They only charge what people are willing to pay. You could say the same thing about Black Boar, Barry Szamboti, Gina etc.... thousands of dollars for a piece of wood and tiny little shards of ivory, mother of pearl, abalone etc.... As long as people are willing to pay those prices they can charge them.

OK, when I post the differences between Brunswick and Diamonds, I'll throw in the Gabriel's tables as well, but Connelly as far as I'm concerned has no business having a table in the commercial market place, home tables yes....but not commercial use tables because they won't hold up under that kind of use.
There's a room up in Oregon that has all Connelly Ultimates in it, 6 years old, and every table looks beat to death. The top rails are beat up, finish wore off. The leather drop pockets are all zip tied together. Seams are apart. Piles of shims under the legs of the tables trying to keep them level. I talked to the room owner about selling them new Diamonds and walked away when they told me they just bought the Connelly tables years ago, and wasn't interested in replacing them. My parting comment was like...."Oh....ok, the only reason I was asking is because it looks like you might have bought them about 30 years ago, because they look like they need to be replaced real bad"....and walked out the door.

The poolroom in Roanoke has old Kim Steele tables, along with a couple of Diamonds. The Kim Steele tables have tape holding the pockets on them. I like the tables except for the crappy pockets.
