what has this forum resorted to???

when the economy is bad and people are poor, trading unwanted items becomes the preferred transaction instead of paying cash.

When can you start?:D

Well, I might be by your house tomorrow. I could start Sunday morning. Just let me know how long you want me for, and also, what cue you are exchanging. I can cook, clean, sing, and rack the balls for you while you are practicing.

Servant

I will be someone's servant in exchange for a cue. That's all I have to offer.

Btw, I also do not see the big deal about trading for pool items.

Great trade offer Ross.
Do you do windows?
What level of cue do you want, and if you bring me a large pizza I'll throw in some J/p's.

I don't see the problem! I've always been a fan of bartering. I've traded cues for cars, trucks, a trip for 2 to vegas, new roof on my home, house painted, shed built, auto repairs, computers and a lot more. it's always been a win-win situation. Most everyone has a trade, business connections and/or excess stuff they no longer have a use for. But cash is often hard to come by for a young family man or any of us for that matter. I've found bartering to be a way to put one of my cues in the hands of someone who most likely could not afford or justify the cash layout for one of my cues but would cherish it even more than someone with deep pockets. Nothing wrong with that!

I agree that trading a cue for these misc items is fine, no problem. However, I believe the only issue is that it damages the aesthetics of the site which may distract some vistors.

Just my opinion

Thank You !

Well, i dont see any problem on it. As long as both parties agreed their dealings there's nothing wrong with that. Barter in modern times.
I remember when i was a student, In the Old times, People are willing to trade hectares of land just for the trade of spices..It's a win win situations, and the important is both parties are satisfied of what they got..

I've got a cue I'd trade you just for that duty alone! Plus, I'm also in Minnesota, so you don't have to travel too far ... that's what I call a bonus.

For those that study history, and many can still remember, bartering was very common in the last depression.

I agree with everyone else........nothing wrong with bartering. People have relied on this system for years to acquire things they could not normally afford. So I really do not see a problem if both parties are happy with the outcome. As far as making the site look less than reputable......well that is debatable. Any forum you see that has a for sale section usually has people bartering. Not everyone in America has cash laying around to blow on a pool cue. So if you love this game why would you not want to see some guy who has a family or other financial obligations get the cue of his dreams. A simple trade may allow him to do this when he would otherwise be without a cue. I think anytime someone gets a cue in their hands it is good for the game.....but hey it may just be and my opinion.

I agree ,if the site is about pool items, then watches, glass jars, wigs, and hemmroid cream are not pool related items even if there looking to trade for a cue.Just because they say" looking for a pool cue"shouldn't give them the right to have a online garage sale.If the economy was that bad then all these guys with rolex watches would be selling them for cash not trading for a cue.A seperate thread for that other stuff would be much better than tainting the one we have here. Thanks

As long as the trade is pool related, I don't see a problem. It gives members with a surplus of cues to maybe acquire something non pool related using a cue they got into "dirt cheap." Or it lets a member who maybe inherited a Rolex, trade for a cue he really wanted. These items may be of no use to the person who is trading them, and of great use to the person who makes the trade.

I say that if any members can benefit from this type of bartering, it is most certainly not disruptive to these forums. I think it's a great thing that (AZB) can put soo many different people with common interests in touch.

Considering it is a pool-related forum, I expect nothing less than several knockers chiming in.

Just a thought

Mr. Wilson,

Do you think we could have a," Bartering Section " ?

Seems like alot of our members are for it :)

Thanks - Tommyd1
