I never quite understood the purpose of these types of threads.
I don't know about that, but I always wondered if you would have if you combined OJ's speed, Sayers' nimble feet, Jim Brown's power all in Brock Lesnar's body, you'd have the greatest runner ever.

These types of threads result from working third shift, watching pool all night and just typing what your mind starts thinking. Not trying to annoy anyone by posting it but just curious as to what other hardcore pool fans think.
Either way it would generate something funny for example just read the post by LALouie...AKA Smartass.....
Doesn't Earl have something like 5 US Opens and 4 World 9-Ball Championships? How about if you duct-tape SVB and Souquet together could you get a 9ball wizard like Earl in his prime?
I know everyone loves SVB (and for good reason - he's the top American). However, until he has 5 US Opens and 4 or more World 9balls --- the original post makes no sense.
Earl's the best modern 9-ball player (historically, record-wise in tournaments).

I predict at least 30 more of these threads before 2011. If by chance you ever forget a thread, you can be sure it will return in a different forum by a different OP sometime later. AzBilliards forum, in particular, is quite cyclical. :thumbup:
Tables have nothing to do with the decline of earls game-hes older(we all know what that feels like-hes crazier (someof us know what that feels like)
combine that with 20 plus years of being a monster(player that is) and you will see the decline in all of your favorite players
all of the top players from the 90s are falling towards the middle of the pack only winning a tourney here or there
except for the tall skinny chosen one who plays a different game then he did back then every one of the top players from back then are slowing a little
dont forget there were zillions who never won a big event
johnny,earl,efren,buddy,mike,rempe were all players long before the internet became about so unfortunately we probably wont be reading about 4 tourneys in a row from those guys-we now have mika-shane-oscar-and few short guys from the little big island to read and watch

Earl in his prime didn't need anything that he didn't already have.
When Earl was in his prime he wouldn't have needed those other attributes.
Nothin' wrong with Earl that duct-tape couldnt cure.

Having seen Earl in his prime, he had all that and more! Earl was focused and fluid, wasting no time in executing one perfect shot after another. To see him run out was a joy to behold. You couldn't help but marvel at his talent. He WAS the perfect 9-Ball player!

What you would have is a player that didn't need weight from
Buddy Hall in HIS prime.
