What State Has Produced the Most High Caliber Players?

Ohios right up there!!!!

i think the midwest in general, is a mine field for champs and future champs. you never know where you ll find a bartrum , joey gray, bergman, matlock, james walden, marco marquez or whoever. imho i think the only reason pool players come to arizona is to visit their grandparents or retire lol

For WPBA players originally from NC we have Val Finnie...

For WPBA who relocated here we have Kelly and Allison Fisher... Ewa was in the Charlotte area for awhile but is in Myrtle Beach now.

I'm 99.99999% sure that Val Finnie is Scottish.

That's a $100k bet surely you would want to bet at least $10 so you can make a million off it...be an opportunist haha

Hell, this thread and a case of beer, and you'll be arguing 5000 different opinions :p What time period? Is this an all time list? You get it...

I'll throw NJ in there: Allen Hopkins, Ray Martin, Steve Miz, Pete Margo, Jose Garcia, Jack Colavita, Sammy(Mr. Loree Jon) Jones, Danny Basavich, Al Lapena, Neptune Joe Frady...

Eric >tired of typing

Sammy is from Kentucky, originally.

What bout Jack!

I cannot believe that the boys from NC have not mentioned Jack Stenner!! I know he got his amateur status back but he's been around long enough and still plays pretty strong!!!!

Ohh it's a ton of fun...I think NC either has the most posters on here...or we win with a first round KO.

Facts are facts

NC and the SE region in general are IMO the best area for pool in the US. Most of the most popular tours are there and even weekly tournaments have lots of players. Hell the only other sport that is close is golf, if you live in NC it is mandatory you do both and you better be good!! Good golf, good pool, good climate, good people, hell it's all good!!!

I don't know the spelling but does anyone know Dennis Gieshke (Geeshkee) known as TEX years ago.

Great unknown player, placed in top 10 Johnson City 9ball twice I believe. Resided in Carbondale IL mid/late 70's - mid/late 80's. Watched him play many of the champs of the era. Usually a winner.

Just stoking the NC fire with Rodney Andrews and Jeff Pruitt...oh, and what about Johnny Griffin and Dave Brown?
