Who are the 'Old Schoolers' of AZ

I'm taking the heat in recent times from Keith about this. He's really raring to go. I am realizing more and more that I'm living with a racehorse who needs to get out and stretch his legs every now and then. He misses pool a lot.

If I have my way, I want to go north, mainly because I have really enjoyed the pool tournaments up there in Yankee Country, especially the Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour. Keith, however, has his eyes set on Las Vegas, a place that just gives me the creeps.

I guess we will both have to meet in the middle soon. They say good relationships have a lot of give-and-take. I guess it's my turn to start giving again. :o

Just remember that once you're in New England, you are most definetely NOT in "Yankee Country"...

I'm here to help. :p

(And if you two do decide to come to New England for a tournament, I will need to find a way to burn some vacation time to go and see it. )

Mmm, Regina's meatballs. I like the sound of August, and a beautiful time of year, too!

We've never attended a Seminole tournament. This is doable. It's a half-day drive from where we live, and I won't lose much time away from my job. Unfortunately for Keith, my ball-and-chain job keeps me glued to the computer, just about 24/7/365. I'm chief cook and bottle washer. :sorry:

Hope to see you guys there.

For me, everything north of the Mason-Dixon line is Yankee Country, but you're absolutely right. Those Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots are pretty spiffy.

Definitely will do. My girlfriend used to live in Massachusetts area, and she keeps raving about the fried clams and blueberries, not necessarily in that order. I remember when we went to Maine, those beautiful white birch trees, and then there was the lobster. Oh, man, that was dreamy.

Keith plays well up north. He seems to adjust to the equipment quickly, and we both enjoy the comaraderie of the pool peeps. :)

You guys need to make a trip down this way too, I am sure there is something worth venturing south for coming soon.

Best of luck,
D

Blueberries and lobster... we have that covered quite well in my neck of the woods. :p

Seriously, that would sooo cool if Keith were to play in RI. I would love to work out a small pool vacation for myself, to go and see for myself.

Oh, and while most folks are quite into the red Sox and Patriots, it's OK if people aren't. It's just not OK to be a Yankee fan, around here. :p Anyone else is all well and good. Kinda territorial that way.

Too much time!

Cool, little trick to see what number you are.
Hover over a username and look in the status bar below and you will see a URL like this:
http://forums.azbilliards.com/member.php?u=27

The number at the end is where you are in comparison to others who have joined. According to this I am old as dirt as there are only 26 people on here that joined before me.

Koop How do yo figure this stuff out??? Being from Mass myself did you know that the Gov has license plate number 1 the Lt Gov gets number 2 and so on? Status around Boston is having a low numbered vanity plate. I did some remodeling for a wealthy lady over on Randolph Rd in Newton years ago and she told me about it. She was a member of The Club naturally!!

Good find BTW, it still amazes me that I still do not know all the in's & out's of this place. Maybe it's best that way!!!!

Well I thought I was a shoo-in to be part of the old school group. I mean 1700 posts since October 2006 should be old school veteran staus, I thought. But nooooo, some of you guys (and gals) are old fossils around here.

I guess being on here nearly every day since I first registered made me feel like I was an old schooler.

Just wicked smaht I guess...LOL :D

I had no idea about the license plates. Not surpising that someone in Newton is wealthy though

I am No. 2568. :embarrassed2:

Keith McCready is No. 2. :grin-square:

Reminds me of McChesney and the McDermott tour, Mizerak wan't to have his player card #1, not from his caliber of play, but he just wanted to be first in line and before all other registered player/members.

Well, I do remember chatting back on RSB as well as the BD Forums before we ever had one here.

Before I installed forums on the site, I didn't see a reason to bother since BD had the majority of the forum traffic. I got emails from people asking for a forum though, so I went ahead and installed one.

As they say ... "The rest is history"

Mike

Thanks for the clarification.

so #1 - do you consider yourself an Old Schooler?

(and welcome to our lil thread :) )
