Who else wants to know why I dumped ?

This may be a controversial thread, and I may step on a few peoples toes, but oh well..

Is there ever a good reason to dump a backer? ..Or chop up another player?

Maybe/Maybe Not

Think about this for a moment...Usually the guy that gets dumped is~~~~~~~~

1.a jerk and an overbearing a-hole
2.an obnoxious slob that can't make two balls in a row,but he feels the need to offer his two cents about your shot selection.
3.a suspect character that would just as soon trap you by going in halfs with you in the box with a guy that you've got no chance against meanwhile he's betting against you on the rail getting odds on the money
4.a double steer(if you've been around you know what that means)
5.a two bit nit that flashes a wad of cash but won't put any of it in action unless he's getting paid on both ends ..
6.a guy that want's to high-roll your player(after it's obvious you've got the best of it) pissing him off in the process and killing your action.
7.a guy that want's 70/30 (or worse) Now,I'm not talking about a guy that takes you on the road(or put you in tourneys) and eats all of your expenses, that's different.

Before you ask me ,yes I have dumped a backer before ,but he fit the desription above and he had it coming .

Good Shooting

How does this make you any better than the Backer? Two wrongs doesn't make a right!! I'm sure that you knew that this particular backer had these wonderful qualities and traits long before he decided to back you! In my opinion this make you even worst then him. Sounds like someones has revenge in their hearts. Play real pool, play for free.

or

8: A guy that has a LARGE amount of money and loves to gamble, and believes his horse will run true for him for a longgggg time for a mutually beneficial long term backing relationship, but unknowlingly picked a drug addict with no sense of loyalty who will gladly throw away a "potential" $100,000 in future earnings in order to lock up splitting $10,000 with his cooperating opponent TODAY.

Meditate for a minute on this bubsbug

You ever wonder why the same guys get dumped over and over again? It's no accident my friend .

I know I'm not the only one here that has done business

I challenge all members of AZ Billiards to admit that you have done business before ..

If anybody says that they have never done any business, they are a liar!!

Tony,

I've met many people who would fit into one of the above seven categories. I never felt the "need" to dump any of them. It's always seemed better just to avoid them as much as possible. Why would I want to be involved with them in any way? It almost certainly won't end up good.

Saying all that, I've been aware that some of them got dumped and I really didn't care. I just didn't want to have anything to do with it. But hey, that's just me.

Are you kidding me? Just because you have no morals, do you really think the whole AZ community is like you? Does believing your statement make you feel better about yourself?

Remind me never to do business with you. You have admitted that if YOU feel it's justified, you can't be trusted.

thanks for the heads up;)

T,

I have been staked for $5 and for $500 and I never dumped anyone that has put money up on me. I have also been on the other end and have backed sets up to 3k. I will not get into a financial arrangement with someone that I have issues with. I find humor and insight in many of your posts but I do not agree with dumping and I don't condone it in any situation. This doesn't mean that I don't know and associate with many players that I know have involved themselves in business. I am not blind or naive but I can not respect a Businessman.

Just because you dump, doesn't mean we all do.

I've never dumped. My ethical compass doesn't swing in the wind.

If all the reasons you stated are true, there's still no need for you to jump down in the mud with him.

No play for Mr. Grey.

I have never done any business, and if you call me a liar and tell THE TRUTH about who/where you are, I will see if you'll call me a liar to my face.

I wouldn't even let my WIFE win a game when we were dating.. You thinking I am going to lose on PURPOSE for ANY reason?

This just proves what I have thought all along about the 'Walt Tony Frazier'.......he is an idi---

I've never understood playing on others money. Maybe I'm just not good enough to realize how it is. My thinking when gambling has always been to play on my own dime, often times turning down games with people who had backers even though I love to gamble.

And another thing... With the percentage of totally sociopathic personalities that hang around pool rooms, would you risk dumping someone?

With some of the characters I have seen, you risk ending up in a pine box. This was discussed in another thread. There are people who will gladly kill you for $1000.00 OR LESS if you piss the wrong person off.

If you continue to dump different persons, the law of averages will eventually catch up with you, and one day you'll end up with broken fingers at best, or at worse, dead. Good luck with that...

Although, I don't really believe you are serious about having dumped people multiple times. I think you are just throwing this out there to stir up s**t, and will end up saying "I was just kidding, I don't really dump, I just wanted to see what people honestly thought of dumpers."

Either way, you are an irritating gnat that just won't die when swatted.

The concept is, a LOT of poolplayers are action junkies, and have to be in action at all costs. These action junkies are notoriously loose with their money, and if they don't lose it, they spend it..

So, when they are broke, they have to have a backer to stay in action. Financial responsibility and poolplayers generally don't mix.

That's why even when an idiot pool player loses his last 10K in a game he never had a chance in, other pool players praise him for "having heart".

Yeah.. Over a lifetime, heart and about $5.00 will get you a Starbuck's cappuchino. :D

Just waiting for our newest celebrity to come back with:

" Ha Ha...I never really dumped I just wanted to get people to admit to it by saying everyone does it.....look at me aren't I funny and special"......Walt Frazier.

Or some other silly bit of fluff. It's like reality TV for a forum. You know it's gonna be terrible but sometimes you just wanna see how big of a fool someone is gonna make of themselves.
