Who was in the wrong?

I have grown used to seeing and hearing behavior from Earl that is unsettling and worse. I watched the exchange between the two players and it appears she was very excited. She seemed to be very happy to even play him and the way she kind of trotted over to hug him was a show of excited respect from her.

For Earl it was just another poor display of character and it is what I expect Earl to do when he loses. Normally he looks disgusted and makes a few nasty remarks or blames the table, the balls, the temperature or anything else he can find. It amazes me that he gets invited to play in some of these events..

Did she hug the other players after her matches?

I find it hard to believe a 21 year old woman from Korea is in awe to play Earl. She's too young, and too far culturally removed, to consider him a "living legend". IMO.

I watched that as it happened. There is no right or wrong. But imo, I think it's pretty crappy on Earls part and Earl is my all time fav player. He is a living legend and knows it. This young female player who is probably thrilled just to even play him, just wants to hug him. It would have been a special moment for her. Who cares if you're mad or hate hugs or whatever. How about you do something for someone else so it makes them happy. It's not like it's something huge or costs you anything. I don't think it's poor sportsmanship but poor character
Agreed! She was raised on hugs, it’s their culture. It was her way of showing care and respect. Handshakes just don’t cut it for many women, and that’s okay.

From the matches I saw she did not. She simply shook hands with her other opponents. I think she knew who Earl was. She was trying to show him the upmost respect, as taught in her culture, and he just shunned her. He should be embarrassed. I’ll be rooting for this young lady from now on.

i have not read any replies and just saw the replay
you just got finished competing
earl shook her hand ( or fist pumped i could not tell)
thats where it ends for sportsmanship
a hug is out of line in my opinion BY HER
after a loss i dont think i would be lovey dovey with someone
and in todays climate of sexual harrassment
i wouldnt go hugging women i was not involved with
jmho

I once had a victorious young man step inside my extended hand and hug me. At the time I was kind grumpy at myself for not playing well against a less skilled young player. His hug really brought me back to a good place. Put it all in perspective. It was a big victory for him. It put a smile on my face and I had to laugh at myself.
As for the question of her hugging other players. I just watched a match of hers and she did indeed hug her opponent.🤷

Personally I think Earl is lucky to still be invited to these events and he should have a better approach to losing.

At his age he should really start adapting a more humble approach to winning and losing matches. Female or male it shouldn’t matter and like others said she was probably over the moon to beat Earl and just wanted to hug him out of respect but it doesn’t always work out that way.

Earl is Earl but like I said… he should try to adopt a different approach to winning and losing and be more humbled as he is in his last years of playing at this level.

Side note… I didn’t see the match but if she beat him 5-1 it’s his own fault that lead to that outcome and he should have owned that instead of complaining but then again… that’s Earl 🤷‍♂️

I would guess she is a student of the game and fully respects the older legends.......

I once beat a nice looking woman with big boobs and she gave me a big boob to chest hug, gotta love league play with a little booze thrown in.
One time, a long time ago, my wife and I were spectators at a weekend tournament of the top Seattle players. The wife of one of the Players knew of a cheap meat shoot just up the road so she and I sneaked out and played in it.
I ended up getting second to an attractive lady. The local pool newsletter photographer wanted to get a picture for the monthly paper. So as we posed at the handshake my friend shouted, "kiss her!" I looked into her eyes and they didn't say no...so I did and she did and the photographer snapped the picture. I immediately asked how much it would cost me for the picture as my wife might not find it as funny as we did.🤷

Just caught the tail end of Earl's match with 21 year old Korean women's player Seo Seoa. She defeated Earl 5-1. After she shook Earl's hand, she went in for the hung and Earl shunned her. She was obviously elated to defeat a legend but should she have been more "professional" or should Earl have been more accommodating?
would be nice if you linked the video either at exact timestap or just the video and tell us the timestamp...I couldn't watch none of these due to work.

I just saw it linked above...should have read the replies before posting haha

anyways I saw it, kinda a nice girl why he wouldn't hug her....but in the same time I think she really shouldn't go for a hug with that guy...he should have known better right.
