Its my understanding that Keith hasn't played any serious pool in over a year. He has lost alot of speed during the last year and you now want him to play a world class player?

It ain't worth it for Keith to get back in stroke (even for him it would probably take a couple of months) for only 10,000.00. He probably wouldn't do it for 25,000.00. It's just not worth the time and trouble.

The people who have seen Keith play in his prime know how good he played. He is certainly one of the top 5 players EVER in 9 Ball with roll out rules. Again, if you seen him in his prime there would be no arguements here and if you didn't you missed something very very special.

couldnt have said it any better:wink:

Simple question, simple poll. This is not for who was better in their primes, or who would win 20 years ago. This is only for today/right now. This would make for a great TAR match. IMO.

You know, Corvette, I've seen a lot of these posts on these forums, a lot of nitpicking. As far as Chris Batrum goes, everybody knows that I haven't been playing much pool, but if I was playing any pool at all, I would play Chris Batrum some 9-ball, 10-ball, banks, 1-pocket. There ain't much left, but considering I haven't been playing much, I'm not really in the mood to be playing any pool.

Every time I come on this forum, I got to keep defending myself. Nobody's got nothing good to say about anybody. Everybody likes to bash everybody else. If I was to bash people that I know I could bash that everybody else talks about on these forums, it just wouldn't be fair to them. And that's sort of the way I look at it. I don't really think it's fair to me. Every time I come on these piece-of-shit forums, I got to always watch my back about somebody trying to belittle me. It gets to be a little sickening.

And you don't want to talk about the past because you know what the end result would be, or maybe you don't? But I sure do. Chris Bartrum wouldn't even be in the same ball park. Guys like him got the 7-ball every day, every night, every hour.

So you can take that for what it's worth, and last time I played Chris Bartrum, it was me and Ronnie Wiseman and against him and some player in one-pocket. They got 8 to 7, and they got stuck up. Isn't that amazing? Two players past their prime, me and Ronnie, giving two prime players a spot.

And I will think about coming out of my retirement to play Chris Batrum. I'll see how many of my people like it, but I ain't coming out for no small money. If I play, I will play him 9-ball, 10-ball, banks, and one-pocket, a nice long set of each for maybe 10,000 or 20,000 apiece. Then we'll see who gets the last word in because I don't think Chris Bartrum can play a lick. He's a nice guy and everything, but he's got a little Chihuahua in his ass. I know it, and so does everybody else.

It's not my style to have to come on a forum and try to put somebody down, but as for Chris, I thought Chris had a little more class than that, but apparently not. So now I will speak my mind.

Well Now,,,,,, There you have it Sports fans, straight from the man himself.

Keith, if you read this, I'll tell you the same thing I told Jam a couple of years ago. "Don't let this stuff get too far under your skin, there are those of us who like having you here." There are those of us, who remember how you played. I know you're trying to defend your reputation, but it won't help any to argue your point on the internet. You have made your mark in history. You will long be rmembered as one of the best pool players, and certainly one of the best barbox players to ever live.

Keith it is kinda funny that they talk the trash and want to play now that you or some of the other guys are older. The bottom line is that most of them would have never have played you in your prime..just like some of the top players who avoided you. I think they would be getting a spot from some of the champs that you spotted. Not to re hash it, but I do kinda want to. How many of the young guys today could give those huge spots you gave out to the same guys..do you see any of these younger guys playing morro, ernesto, king kong, shupet, little al...and giving them those spots?
Thanks for coming on here and posting I think most people here truly enjoy your game and your stories. Keep posting on here when you can

I read this thread and did not find where Keith was being attacked.

I just think everyone misses Keith in the spotlight. JAM and Keith were fixtures out there and were seen often. Now, you never see them. I understand why but that doesn't fill the void that was left when Keith stopped competing. I know it is not your responsibility, Keith, to keep us entertained, but most everyone liked your style.

But just for the record Keith and JAM, this is a thread I started sometime back and it may surprise you.

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=119640

Believe it or not there are people out there who enjoyed watching Keith play. If it is over then so be it. I can live with that. But I don't think that camparing Keith to this one or that one is belittling him. Fans can still hope for a comeback, can't they????

That being said, if there was a miscommunication on this and if Harry was ready to put his money up that would be shocking but a shame. JCIN - you are a big person for biting the bullet on this one and not seeming to try to get the last word in but people must realize that Chad (your business partner) and you must communicate pretty often. Especially on the possibility of a match of this magnitude.

You know what, I don't even want to talk about this anymore. I deleted my reply to you, Watchez. This whole thing with TAR, the way it's now handled on this forum, is really disappointing.

I have been off this forum for a few months, and it's been peaceful. It just seems like it never stops, the constant bullshit in my direction. It's just too much, especially when you don't even know all the facts.

For whatever it is worth, you guys trying to say that I couldn't get no money to play Billy Incardona is absurd. Because I didn't play Billy at your time, your convenience, so that makes it all right for you to say that I couldn't get staked. I've never, ever had a problem of getting money to play when I'm ready to play.

As far as me talking to TAR, I talked to him on the phone several times about the game. Harry Platis and I conversed about the game as well. Harry said he wanted to have Billy and I play somewhere else, which would have been convenient for him, not you guys.

I am not sure why it is so important for Watchez to say I cannot get staked to play Billy. I told TAR about Harry Platis, and so did Jennie. We both spoke to a guy in South Dakota several times on the telephone about Harry's reluctance to go to Virginia. I don't know why everything has been taken out of proportion, but it usually does on this forum, especially when it comes to me.

I'm going to do it the way Tiger Woods does it. When I am ready to come back and play, I will let everybody know on this forum that I'm coming back. So all you haters who think that I'm washed up will just have to wait and see. I might be washed up in your minds, but I'm surely am not washed up in mine. I'm probably more healthier now that I've ever been in my whole life. So whatever that's worth, it probably don't mean nothing to you because you will find something to say bad about that too, but it means something to me.

long live the "ether" !!!!

Great to hear Keith has that burn starting to fester.

It sounds like it's just a matter of time (and won't it be something!)

JCIN has never given me any reason to doubt his word. Until he does, I'll keep listening to it.

And this is about the fifth post you have made about all the b.s. in your direction. If you would read with an open mind, yes please read it for yourself,.......

Plenty of people on here have stroked your ego - including me. I stated that you being on TAR is what almost everyone wants to see. I stated that in your prime, you could give Bartram the 6 ball. Unfortunately, you have landed in this world of negativity and can't get out. You think everyone is against you but they are not. It is great that financially you either don't have the desire for more money or don't need any free money that people are offering you to see you come out of retirement. Hopefully some day you will have the desire to play pool again. If you did a tour like Archer/Varner/Earl - there is no way that you couldn't pocket $2000 a week. I know you hate me but I could fly you out to St Louis for $300 and put you up in an extended stay hotel for $185 a week. You would gross $2500 in that week without even having to give much effort. You seem to like poker, from what I hear. Do it 4 times in 4 different cities and buy yourself a seat to the WSOP.

To the average banger, you are one of the most known names in pool and have the biggest connection to TCOM of any pool player. T-shirts with your face and the quote 'It's like a nightmare' would sell all day long for $25.00 a piece.

Parica/Efren are hitting them pretty sporty at their age - I am sure that once you make the choice, you will impress the world again. And who really cares if the percentage of people think that Bartram could beat you now. If you had the desire to play pool and could come out at 85% of your speed, you would get some great games and make a ton of money - if you did it right.

But I know, I am just an idiot that can't draw his ball and doesn't know what it is like to be someone like you. I seriously hope you get some positives in your life and you find your happy place. I would think it would be with pool - read JAMs stories about you dancing around the table. That seems to be when Keith McCready is happiest.

It's a shame they can't remember they talked to me on the phone a couple times about the game. If they can't remember talking to me, I'm sort of leery about them remembering about how much money I would have coming from the tapes. I'm sort of glad I didn't do it now, if they got that bad a memory.

Thank you for all your input on what I'm supposed to do with my life, but there's a lot of things I could do differently. It's one step at a time with me. Actually, I've had quite a few offers to go here, go there, and show up and do things. I sort of want to be ready when I do it. I don't want to go there and be somebody that I'm not. That's not my style.

Until then, I'm going to sit back and let nature take its course. I play for 10, 20, and 30 thousand every day, and I never have to leave home to do it. I'm sorry if that's not high enough for you.

I'm in a good spot right now. The only negativity in my life today is when I read this forum.

You should have come to the DCC or made a phone call that week. Your friend and backer Harry Platis was there, all the way east to Indiana. Maybe you could have worked something out then on the TAR match. A plane ride for Harry to Virginia would only have been another hour in his life.

Glad to hear it. Knock em dead online. I wouldn't leave your 3000 sq foot home if I was playing for that kind of dough either. In fact, I would buy an island, have my food delivered fresh every day and be in a good spot just like you. If I only won $10K once a week, I would be happy. I lose my patience too much playing online and cant figure out how to do it and make money. It really seems too fake to me when all you have to do is click and poof, $10K is gone.

For the record Chad and I communicate just fine and have been doing so since this thread started. I am not going to tell you how hot he is.

We are trying real hard to take the high road here. Keep casting aspersions on our honor and character and I will get down in the mud with you and I promise you will not like it.
