You know what, I don't even want to talk about this anymore. I deleted my reply to you, Watchez. This whole thing with TAR, the way it's now handled on this forum, is really disappointing.

I have been off this forum for a few months, and it's been peaceful. It just seems like it never stops, the constant bullshit in my direction. It's just too much, especially when you don't even know all the facts.
I have all the respect for Bartrum's game in the world. He is a definite grinder and good for the cash; but, (and you knew I was gonna defend Keith here) Keith was on a SHANE LEVEL OR HIGHER IN HIS DAY! Would Chris play Shane? No. Keith was the Shane (or even more feared) in his day. Now, who cares who would win? One is playing pool daily and grinding it out, and one is having to defend that he could ever make a ball (One of the people that brought pool to the mainstream and most famous ever). Sickening.

I, like most everyone else on here, would love to see Keith come back one more time. My guess is that if he did, Chris wouldn't have to like it. Of course, who knows if we will ever see The Ether do his thing again.

Keith McCready is a legend of the game.

In discussions of ‘who the best in their prime was’, ‘who woulda beat who in their prime’, Keith’s name will be brought up time and time again for decades to come. Some will say Keith would lose, some will say Keith coulda gave him the 7 and still won no prob.

When you reach legendary status like Keith has you’ve got nothing left to prove. He already has proved it time and time again. I mean come on, breaking and running 22 racks in a row(pfft, how crazy is that). I’ve never heard of any top pro today even coming close to that. All the crazy cash games he played in, who wouldn’t just love to sit back and hear Keith tell story after story all night long. Finally, to get a part in a major motion picture along side Newman and Cruz, haha, well that’s just the cherry on top.

Even if Keith did come back for a few matches and lost, so what, the guys fifty plus and hasn’t picked up a cue for years…. But, if he did come back and win, OMFG, the legend continues.

Either way Keith, your awesome!!!

You know, Corvette, I've seen a lot of these posts on these forums, a lot of nitpicking. As far as Chris Batrum goes, everybody knows that I haven't been playing much pool, but if I was playing any pool at all, I would play Chris Batrum some 9-ball, 10-ball, banks, 1-pocket. There ain't much left, but considering I haven't been playing much, I'm not really in the mood to be playing any pool.

Every time I come on this forum, I got to keep defending myself. Nobody's got nothing good to say about anybody. Everybody likes to bash everybody else. If I was to bash people that I know I could bash that everybody else talks about on these forums, it just wouldn't be fair to them. And that's sort of the way I look at it. I don't really think it's fair to me. Every time I come on these piece-of-shit forums, I got to always watch my back about somebody trying to belittle me. It gets to be a little sickening.

And you don't want to talk about the past because you know what the end result would be, or maybe you don't? But I sure do. Chris Bartrum wouldn't even be in the same ball park. Guys like him got the 7-ball every day, every night, every hour.

So you can take that for what it's worth, and last time I played Chris Bartrum, it was me and Ronnie Wiseman and against him and some player in one-pocket. They got 8 to 7, and they got stuck up. Isn't that amazing? Two players past their prime, me and Ronnie, giving two prime players a spot.

And I will think about coming out of my retirement to play Chris Batrum. I'll see how many of my people like it, but I ain't coming out for no small money. If I play, I will play him 9-ball, 10-ball, banks, and one-pocket, a nice long set of each for maybe 10,000 or 20,000 apiece. Then we'll see who gets the last word in because I don't think Chris Bartrum can play a lick. He's a nice guy and everything, but he's got a little Chihuahua in his ass. I know it, and so does everybody else.

It's not my style to have to come on a forum and try to put somebody down, but as for Chris, I thought Chris had a little more class than that, but apparently not. So now I will speak my mind.

You need to either relax or get better at reading comprehension. Nowhere on this thread did Chris Bartram disrespect you. So why dont you think a little bit harder about coming out of retirement to play Chris, but before that, make sure you can bet something. The 10k or 20k sets will not be an issue for Chris playing you 9 or 10 ball so know need to worry about you coming out of retirement for chump change. As a matter of fact, I think you can probably add a zero to the 10k sets. Is that enough to motivate you? If this forum is so miserable for Jam and yourself, why do you feel the need to torture yourselves? I would say that in general people on here have showed you a tremendous amount of respect, but thats just my opinion.

Billy,
You and I don't agree on much, but this is dead on. Some of these people that are siding with Keith haven't even read the entire thread. All Chris did was voice his opinion and that turns into "disrespecting Keith, bashing a champion, etc.."

If I took offense to every time someone disagreed with me then I'd be a miserable basket case. Chris has taken good natured ribbing about his posting a list, Stevie, etc..that was much worse than him saying that Alex would beat Keith, but I never saw Chris whine and say people were disrespecting him.

Reading comprehension is a wonderful thing.

I hope other players are more forthcoming and can come up with that $10,000 to play on TAR. Sorry Keith and I couldn't afford it.

I'm confused, playing poker for 10, 20, 30 thousand daily but can't play pool for 10K???? So which is it?

And before you all say this guy is full of it and won't really bet, Billy has staked Chris twice for 50, a few times for 25 or more, a dozen or more times for 10-20, several more times for 5 or more, staked Corey in the Corey/SVB challenge match, staked John Schmidt playing Alex playing straight pool. All you really need to know is the window is open and post.....

Wow, certain people in this thread and the other related thread have a MASSIVE "victim" mentality. Between this thread and the other one, I don't think you could find more "everybody's out to get me" paranoia in a schizophrenic's convention. It's time to seek help. Seriously, it's time to get help. Here, I'll get you started:

yeah and wouldnt/ couldnt go to the DCC this year because it was in a casino??

McCready vs Bartram

I'm willing to bet that Keith has more 7-8 packs than Bartram has 3-4 packs in each others pool career. Enough said.

What does that have to do with this thread? JEEZUS, read the question at hand. NOBODY is debating who would win in their primes, even Chris said it bluntly that Keith would beat him.
This is strictly on who would win if they played RIGHT F'ING NOW.

Do people really just post sh*t without reading the other parts of the thread? or, do they read them and simply not comprehend? The world may never know.

Hello pot, meet kettle :D

Vette, most of your posts make me roll and definitely bring the funnae, but the off-topicness is strong with you ;)

With Keith getting back into stroke with some practice, methinks this match would be a good one to watch....

I think it would be a great match too. Thats the reason I posted this poll to begin with, but some of the people don't even read the subject content and go off on tangents about people in their prime, hurting peoples feelings, bashing pros, etc....when all of that is irrelevent when dealing with someones opinion on who would win in a match betwee Keith and Chris TODAY.

Dude, I gotta bite because the shits bugging the hell out of me--- and has for a long time. WTF is that owl-bird thing?? I don't quite get it - yet, it's oddly funny as hell. I just can't make sense of it.

Sorry for hijacking the thread...but I have to know and the thread's been hijacked like 10x already.

lol, you haven't seen the "O RLY" owl? You know like if someone says, "Hey, I think Corvette would beat Keith in his prime" and then you say, "Oh, Really?"

The original O RLY owl has been a staple on message boards for a while now, but apparently a few people have created new ones. Google it for more info.
