Who Won at Turning Stone?

Maybe I have missed it, but I cannot find one thread or article about who won the Joss Turning Stone Casino tournament.

The only post I have read on this pool-related forum about this tournament, which ended yesterday, was somebody, ONCE AGAIN, whining and complaining about the payouts.

I guess this is the kind of discussion about pool tournaments that makes some people happy. Who plays in the tournament and who wins doesn't mean squat anymore. It's much easier to complain and moan about how pool tournaments are advertised, how they are run, what are the rules, et cetera. How ironic that most of the complaints come from people who don't even compete in these said pool tournaments.

Of course, if we bully all independent tournament organizers out of the pool scene, then we can be left with one big one. I am beginning to think this is the motive now and why independent events are being scrutinized to the nth degree. :(

Me personally, I'd like to know who won! Does anybody have a clue? I think it did end yesterday, if I'm not mistaken.

Archer. Played really strong. Order:
Archer,
Morris,
Hatch,
Davenport,

Thanks so much. I cannot believe there is not one mention of this on this pool-related forum.

Archer's backer(s) will be happy!

Archer beat Morris 13-11 in the single set finals. Hatch got 3rd, after Archer beat him 9-1 on the loser's side. Hatch lost the hot seat match to Morris on the hill, after leading it most of the way, convincingly. Davenport got 4th.

Thanks for the write-up! :)

How about that Kim?! He's really playing well in everything he competes in, in recent times. I like that!

And to see Rodney climb the charts is also heartwarming. I'm thinking since he wasn't in the Mosconi Cup this year, even though he was there to support Team USA, this was a very satisfying tournament for him as well. He showed us that he's still strong as can be.

Great tournament, and, oh, should I say it? I just cannot help myself.

USA, ALL THE WAY!

USA, ALL THE WAY!

USA, ALL THE WAY!

And who was it that said European players were so doggone superior?

It's on the AZ home page. Johnnyt

You know, I see it now, but it must have not been there when I was looking at it earlier. It's the same picture of Johnny that always gets posted -- or else he just looks the EXACT SAME WAY (muscle control) with every shot -- and I may have thought it was an older article. Thanks for the info! :)

Is there a bracket for this tournament out there somewhere? There were a few guys from my local hall playing and I was hoping to see how they did.

Hatch was playing better then all of them, he just completely ran out of gas after Rodney came back 8-6 down.

I was born and raised in Marietta, GA and still live less than an hour from Mariatta Billiard Club. And although Johnny and Kim are implants into the area they sure have made us home folks proud.
