He broke and ran 9 racks on Scott Frost at Qmasters last year and won the ten ahead set in 12 or 13 games and Scott was done with eightball. Period......

i bet that gives him nerves of steel not hearing anyone

1 pocket against Efren would be my suggestion.
My suggestion is Shane play some snooker with Stephen Hendry, some 3C with Torbjorn Blomdahl, and some pyramids with Evgeny Stalev. Gimme a break with these out-of-left field fantasies.

Shane knows his strengths, will play to those strengths, and will bet to those strengths. Smart, huh?

These wishes to see him play Danny Harriman and John Schmidt are just retarded.

Retarded? I think these would be the best and smartest match-ups for Shane. I especially would like to see him play Danny Harriman seeing that during the World 10 Ball Championships, Harriman kept Shane in the chair for the entire match. There is also some history between the two. I'd like to see them play a longer race, and my money would still be on Danny. I also like a match up with John Schmidt and I think either of these matches would be a great test for Shane.

Just curious.
Some of us at a pool room were discussing Shane and his beating on Corey. It was mentioned that there were some other games offered (woofed) on here.

Would Shane play Efren, Busta, Archer or some others?

Just curious if people would put him in the box and against who.

I watched the first night of the Action challenge and thought he played very well. I also havent seen that many balls go on ten balls rack before.

I know here in SoCal there are some people that like to stake the Pinoys and are willing to stake it.

Congrats to Shane for the win... he showed me something when we played Orcullo even 8 ball on the bar table in Vegas with his own cash.
The kids has plenty of balls and heart.

As good as he plays, he should play anybody.

There is as you said a long line of Phillipine players that will step up and still plenty here in the U.S. that will and should play. He still has a long way to go before no one will play him.

The more he plays though, the longer he'll be able to maintain the high level of play.

Matches I'd love to see SVB play even:
10-ball race to 100 vs. Orcullo
9-ball race to 100 vs. Bustamante or Yang
8-ball race to 30 bar box vs. Efren Reyes

If he thinks he's the best in the world (and he might be), here's how to find out. Play 3 of the most dominant players at their games, and see how he does. I think these would be awesome to watch.

Now you're talking sensible. Those are all good games that I'd bet on andn pay to watch. Honestly I think all three of them could go either way but I'd be rooting for Shane. I'd want to see the 8-ball game the most.

I think he was talking about the one pocket and 14.1 games people are proposing. I don't think Shane is gambling at those games. I'd love to see him play either of those two in 8 ball, 9 ball or 10 ball.

Bar Table 8 ball?

Haven't seen him play enough to have a good enough read -- but I'd love to see him match up with ANYONE... just because that'd be a great game to watch.

I saw what Shane did to Jesse in Vegas....I don't think anyone will play him bar table 8-ball after that....It wasn't even a match...Jesse Didn't have a chance in hell...then he asked shane to play 9-ball and he said no lol..

To answer your question; he can give up weight if he wants but he won't win. Besides, I seem to remember John Schmidt saying that he'll play any of the filipinos even 9-ball, 1-pocket, or 14.1. This is all just woofing from across the globe. Put Shane and Dennis in the same room together and they'll end up playing even. If Orcullo gives up the 8, I know Schmidt would take it. So would Shane. But Orcullo won't give it up. Guaranteed.

actually what John said was he would play them all a round robin type thing with 9ball, 1-hole and 14.1... they play all 3 set and whoever wins the most, wins the match.

i could be mistaken but me and John had a conversation about this a few weeks ago and from what i understand thats what he ment...

why would you put him against the greatest one hole player in the world right now??? maybe even the best of all time at it...
Because a lot of people apparently thinks he is the best is the world and bla bla bla.He is a great player no doubt about it, but he hasn`t won anything yet.Which is normal at his years. He just began his trip and he is a long way from being in the same company with efren,ortmann,strickland... and even schmidt, harriman,archer...In a couple of years hopefully, but certanly not now.

I like Darren Appleton as a possible opponent in bar table 8 ball..:D

They played for tons of money (I heard numbers up to 30k, don't know for sure) at the DCC and Shane won in like 12 hours, must have been a heck of a match. Not sure if it was on a bar table or big table. I bet it was on a diamond though.:D

Let's see...three-time VNEA national eight-ball champion, made the final of the BCA Open Nine-ball Championship, competed in and dominated the inaugural World Ten-ball Championship, picked up the BCAPL as a sponsor, made the final of the World Summit of Pool. Don't forget that he has taken down a lot of $$$ games lately.

Can you claim ANY of that? I can't...I give credit where credit is due.

Can his mantle rival Reyes? No, but that doesn't mean he isn't at the top of the game at this moment.

see your mixing apples and oranges here...

since he just beat a world champion and known tough customer for the $$$ playing 10 ball poeple are starting to realize just how good he really is... but One hole is a TOTALLY different game... i know poeple that i would torture even playing rotation games (9ball, 10 ball) but i need weight from (and alot of it) playing one pocket... they are totally different animals.

not on the topic exactly but does anyone know what he can do in 14.1? He's prolly run a century before, right?

I'd arm-wrestle him for a hundred. Can someone set this up?:D

shane van boneing

In olathe Shane didn't play the 1pocket. Shane wanted to play the best for 1thosand,2thousand big table small table 10,9,8 ball for 1-2 thousand. Scotty Townsend was the only other player gambling for 1000. at night . Shane made this comment I own them. He was that confident playing in the ten ball shoot out. Remember these five. Shane , james w, Dennis o. jr.banks and Steve m. Shane said I'll play cory even nine ball when the action report was trying to get this started . If schmidt made short work of earl Shane surely will. Get Schmidt to play Shane after Earl. Johnny would be a good game How adout Gabe. Mika thorston all those guys in Europe.

It's becoming very clear that The South Dakota Kid is the stuff of legends.

I was referring to the thread about playing Schmidt 1-pocket and 14.1 and the post about playing Harriman banks and 1-pocket. People are trying to put him in games he doesn't even play. He's obviously not the best in the world at EVERYTHING, but he's got my money in bar-table 8,9,10 ball and big table 9,10 ball. To be honest, it has a lot to do with his monstrous break. That break won't do much in a 14.1 or 1-pocket game.

Edited out.

As long as we're making stupid matches for the kid. I'll bet $10k I can hear better than Shane. Any takers???

i know this was meant as a joke but it was in VERY bad taste...

nobody in the world is perfect... but for you to blatently make a joke about someone's handicap like this is very rude... i just hope Shane (or his family) doesnt see this rediculous comment and get offended.
