Why isn't TV Mike a Gold Member?

TVMike

I've been a subscriber for several years. I think it's a great deal. On the customer service side, I had issues the other day and Mike fixed them within a few minutes. He was in the middle of a stream and got me back on. I'm a gold member here and support the site but honestly, Mike, it's all going to facebook or other social media nowadays anyways. If you don't think its a good deal, just advertise on FB and don't worry about AZ. There are a ton of people that have given up here because of the way folks are treated. Just look how many pros we get here versus on facebook. Every time we get a pro here trying to have a discussion, they get blasted. Just keep doing what you do Mike, some of us appreciate it!

If we are honest this translates as "facebook is for those that can't defend their positions and therefore would rather just be able to censor those that disagree with them instead of letting a good discussion or debate happen organically where many people will learn some things including me sometimes."

If you want to live in a world of "yes men", then yes, facebook is the place to be. If you value learning and free speech though, which means that others will have the opportunity to give opposing viewpoints and may even mean having to defend your own position at times, then AzBilliards has it beat by a million miles. I prefer a place of free speech that is more conducive to learning than to be surrounded by yes men kissing my a$$, but I also realize that some people are weaker than others.

First the TS/Zuglan thread, now this one..

What do you learn here? It's always the same thing. People come here to try and share and the old school regulars attack and run them off. I'd argue there's less free speech here than anywhere.

But, what I was talking about with Mike is advertising. The participation on FB is monumentally bigger than here. Go there if you want to draw to your stream. You are going get way more traffic and no slack....

Well how wasn't it your fault?

You saying it's my fault that you feel you were being spammed? You were a member of my platform and didn't change your email preferences.

So how is that my fault exactly?

I repeatedly contacted you to remove me since there was no unsubscribe link. Then unlike now you refused to reply.

I attempted to block your account and you used different accounts to continue spamming me.

THAT is how it is your fault and if you had read and comprehended my first post we would not be going through it over and over. BUT NO you are so desperate to put the blame on one of your former 'members' that you'll do anything other than except responsibility for what you did. That ends my participation in this thread. Thanks for replying and admitting you were doing exactly what I stated.

A good post, IMO....if you say something on AZ, you got to own it.....
...and only AZ can unfriend you.

I like the gold for the extra PM space...and maybe I'll win one of them draws.

I hardly ever get any PMs. :(

I don't understand why you guys knock a man who is trying to promote pool the way he knows how....if everybody did half what he's doing....imagine.

Flame on I guess....it creates nothing.

We here in Syracuse built a pool hall literally out of ashes....head down, straight ahead, no compromise. All this negativity is poison.

I made this post because Mike, can't even answer a simple question in his own thread.
So, my new question is related to the OP.
Why can Mike SELL his services and not be a GOLD member?
He doesn't support AZB and wants us to support him.
And......he doesn't even respond to questions.
(Not just mine either)
Please explain Mike.

Who is "TV Mike" ? Never heard of him........

The bigger question is why the Chinese 8 Ball employee was personally threatened about this issue, and had a thread deleted, by AZB staff while they remain silent about many other people who spam the daylights out of this forum without a Gold membership.

TV Mike is a relatively small streamer who used to specialize in tournaments and challenge matches local to western Ohio and southern Michigan area. Year after year he expanded his reach and now offers streams from Olathe, KS, Wichita Falls, TX, Syracuse, NY and where ever else someone needs an event streamed. He's covered both the VNEA and ACS National events from Vegas in May. In 2016 he streamed the 14.1 challenge from Derby City. Next week he may be in someones basement showing a private gambling match.

His income is primarily from offering memberships to viewers to offset travel and production costs. Also offers cue raffles in person while streaming. His business plan is different from Big Truck, Lenny and CSI. No PPV. He travels are usually in a van by himself.

Seems some here are never happy regardless of the potential damage they do. Pretty sure some on this thread would prefer Mike to close up shop just to spite him and his followers. Hustler, we're talking about $35!!!! Very few of the thousands of members who offer products for sale on AZ pay the membership fee. They just ride along for free. Pretty sad.

For full disclosure, I've been a TV Mike member for years and appreciate what he does. Not the best but damn good! Who else streams amateur pool events? You can find his stream at www.billiardnet.tv.

Another useless thread.

Why single out TVMike? How is his membership level any of your business at all? Why start shi#? Just curious.

If I were Mike, I would not answer your messages either.

There are those who've been pushing products on AZ for years that are not Gold members. DVD's, books, private lessons, etc... Why single out tvMike?

aaa

I hope I stick around so Lyn can end up writing my biography, he got a few things correct and I deeply appreciate yours and anyone elses support. I am from Detroit originally and started streaming 7 years ago way before most others, inspired by guys streaming then more or less but mostly self taught but here i've been the inspiration for streaming in the midwest for 1,000 miles. Some of my early stuff was the gambling sets at the blue diamond and early on I did the bca ohio state tournament there which zach goldsmith saw my work, I also did the bad blood match with earl strickland and johnny archer way back. Honestly there could be a book written about this life sad part is it probably won't be written because ill have to give up. I probably have done more shows than anyone in the world, I've been doing a show almost every week for 4 years, have the best quick setup equipment, most knowledge technically really than everyone except one guy who is a lazy asshole anyway. I don't ask for donations but being theres many people well off in pool i really could use a benefactor and more sponsors.

The question I have is how come billiardnet.tv doesn't have hundreds upon hundreds more subscribers that pay a measly 9.99 a month? Then I could stop worrying about travel expenses and getting people to help with the IT work. Honestly I've been doing this for 7 years I really do find it hard to believe that someone still would not have heard of me, actually people tell me that if you haven't heard of me then you don't follow pool really. Especially because my promotions on facebook, I only literally post a 1000 times during a high profile show. I mean I really rarely hardly talk about this but truthfully I know how to do things that people don't even know how.

This is more art than anything, it's probably going to fail because frankly it's pool. Who knows... i'm 45 years old I probably could always do tech support on the corner for 5 dollars if I had to.

Most end up turning their passion for something into a hobby or just hang it up and give up on it altogether for the lack of money offered.

Hope everything works out for you.

Good Post Lyn. I'm here quite a bit (maybe more than some folks want) But, I don't recall TVMike pitching anything in the MF. There appears to be some guy is mad about something else, so like a teenage girl, he's going here to cause more trouble. Kind of ridiculous. I don't care who is a Gold Member. It's up to folks to chose what they want and don't want.

I'm not a member of TVMike, but I've met him at a few events, and he seemed like a good dude.

It's threads like this that make you wonder why he would ever buy a Gold Membership. I certainly would not after this. This thread should have been pulled long time ago.

I apologize, I really wasn't trying or wanting to be negative about barbox pool. I have several family members that travel to play on those barbox tables. I just don't care for it. I did subscribe to Mike's site, wasn't trying to bash. I'm going to go shoot some pool. lol
