This is the first time for Hardtimes Bellflower that I can remember. I think that Sac would also be a good pool hall as would California Billiards in Sunnyvale - both would also be be good locations in the future, This large gathering is a first for me to see. There used to be more smaller regional tournies to qualify.

WPBA Mellisa Herndon can answer your question.

This is the first time since this event has been going on that its been played here on the west coast. So exciting for us girls over here for once, when we always have to travel midwest/east coast to do anything.

I know for a couple of years I played it, it was held at Capone's in Spring Hill, Florida. I will not be playing in it, but will be there everyday providing the commentary for the live stream.

It'll be a fun one!

Last year, I flew all the way out to Bellevue, Washington to play in the RTC's that sucked! LOL
But, it was nice to get out to another part of the country for pool.
:)

I hear ya!! Last year it was in Seattle.... very pretty, nice room, but hard on the eastcoast girls. jet lagged.... I suspect this will happen again this year, but I am excited to play! Should be a very fun competitive tourny.

It will be a test of endurance...that is for sure. The round robin format guarantees that every girl will play 7 matches in Stage 1...and then even more if they advance to Stage 2. Then 8 will end up moving into a single elimination to determine a champion. Lots of pool to be played...so be sure to get a good night's sleep.

The nice thing about coming to the West Coast is that your body should be OK with starting at 10 am....which is actually 1 pm for you. And we won't be playing too late each night...so you won't get too tired. (It's not like when us West Coasters have a 10 am match and our bodies think it is 7 am. In Florida last year...I had to get up at 8 am....which was 5 am according to my internal clock. I couldn't have spelled my own name at that point!!!!)

Looking forward to seeing you!!

M

Melissa you say that there's a good player from Taiwan?:)

Shu-Han Chang leads Amway Day Two Upsets
Day two of the Amway Cup has seen its share of upsets that put many of the top players in doubt as to their chances of surviving through to the final four. The day began with Shu-Han Chang defeating Karen Corr 7-5

I see on another thread that there is no WiFI.

There is wi-fi...but it probably isn't public. TAR streamed out of there...and we have already made sure that we have everything we need for streaming.

Barring any unforeseen issues...there will be streaming.

In the other thread I said there is no wifi, wifi is wireless, they can plug into the modem and still do live streaming, just no one can get on the internet there wirelessly, so there is internet. Their router has broke down many times before they just haven't replaced the current one.
