I didn't watch the finals but congrats to Daryl Peach whom I've heard is a true gentleman of the sport. On a side note, I will say that over the past few days JAM made it abundantly clear that she wanted Bustamante and then Gomez to win over Peach saying things like "they will have Peach cobbler and what not". I wish that she of all people would have congratulated Daryl after he won, but as I sifted through the thread I saw that she was the only one that didn't.
I was going to say, does she have something against Daryl?
The Crowd - The Peach Pit - Clark Kent
I thought it was the five ball that he missed first, standing up just as he shot the shot. The nine ball cut was another major shot where he stood up. I have had the same thing happen to me in tournaments and gambling matches. Glad to see the champions are not completely invincible.
cuetechasaurus, you are spot on about the crowd. The crowd was the Kryptonite for Superman but they hurt both of the players with all of that hooting, hollering and BOOING. All of that noise would be great in a sport where you needed adrenaline but that is the last thing a pool player needs.
We need the fans for sure and I don't know if we chase the fans away by shooshing them. That's an important consideration. If they don't have fun, they don't support the sport.
Daryl, showed the other day that he had the toughness to be World Pool Champion when under pressure playing Bustamante he pulled out the win under unbelievable pressure.
I was so tired last night watching the match I didn't have a chance to congratulate THE PEACH PIT and when the match was over, I CRASHED like a car jacker with a felony pending and all of the State Troopers after my a**. PEACH PIT is tough even if he botched a couple of chances to win earlier. He did get some horrendous rolls but overcame them. Gomez looked like me at the end, nothing more than a Clark Kent
And that's for both of us. I guess now, Gomez has some serious seasoning and it will not be the last we see of him. He will become stronger and wiser from this tournament and I wish him well and feel his pain. He seemed to be the more talented but just didn't have the toughness THIS TIME, to pull it off.

THAT ONE has a long needle and knows how to use it. 
That ONE's derisive posts are unwavering and sometimes over the top but JAM gets in her licks as well. I think that some people dislike JAM's overt patriotism but I like it and appreciate it. In this match JAM was just pulling for the player she liked most. Some on this forum like provoking her without justification. JAM enjoys pulling for the player of her choice and I like that, whether I agree with her particular choice or not. Me, I'm the kind of guy that simply likes the best competition and love to see ALL PLAYERS STRETCHED TO THEIR UTMOST LIMITS. I like to see individuals reach the Peter Principle, then manage themselves after that. It shows what a player is really made of when they reach the limits of their ability and still manage to hang on and win.
I saw two players stretched to their limits last night and it was all I could ask for. Each had phenomenal strengths and skills and it was a pleasure to see that both of them are human.

I think the tournament officials need to be praised for switching to the tougher table. It made for an interesting match, in which the players had to scratch and claw for many of their opportunities. In a tourney with far too many matches decided by the break, the final proved a far greater all around test of skills, and Darryl was clearly the one with the more comprehensive skill set.
I enjoyed this WPC very much, and will continue to dream of attending one of these.
Congrats to Peach, his safeties were the probably the best I've ever seen over a long match

Gomez did not play his game early on and eventually choked, congrats to him also, he put on one of the great performances of any tournament ever prior to the finals, but make no mistake about it, what he did was the very definition of choke

I appreciate your kind words. It seems I have a JAM Fan Club on the forum who go out of their way to read my every word, dissect them, and then come to their own conclusions. And that's okay.
I enjoyed watching the WPC, but I won't be provoked by those who enjoy instigating a flame. Just because I pull for Bustie or Gomez, why would someone go out of their way to post on this thread that I did not congratulate Daryl Peach?
This forum is such a playground sometimes. I enjoy pool, but I do not enjoy being singled out -- now being singled out because I pull for a player who was not the winner.

. I would have said the same things to Jay Helfert, Blackjack, or anyone else on here. I am sure you used the term "Peach Cobbler" in jest as I do a lot of, but he is a true gentleman and always acts in a civil manner and deserves to be congratulated. Conversely, I would have commended you on congratulating him after rooting against him so hard.

I simply stated that I thought she would have looked better in everyones eyes if she would have congratulated him after openly rooting against him so hard in both matches.
