Myth or real - Stroke smoothness as a requisite for certain shots

Nobody should be practicing swoop strokes on purpose. It’s a red herring. That goes for everybody.

That’s all I am trying to say. I can’t condense it further. 🙏
Yeah I know - good technique.

I also know - is a highly personalized affair.

Fouette shots - how da fuk?

One pumping - beats the choke?

must be meeyuns and they all seem to work.

Meet My Coaches

A Camel is a horse built by committee. 🤷‍♂️
My favorite analogy.
The build it yourself program is a beginning. Getting lucky with the choice of lessons is Huge.
Just a factor as the fear factor training is uh forged in fire.
I tried to balance my schedule with a lessons budget that allowed the less than 10 percent of the weekly small $5 tournaments and 1 and 2 ring games income.
I had some music theory and without getting into irrelevant detail, there are many problems where you start solution first. Probably goes for architecture and anything else it fits.

Derby City Bigfoot

I cannot speak for everyone, only my own experience. I generally find the 10ft table to be easier for both games. But then my usual table is a Rasson Accura, Ox or Wolf with 4" corners.

I found (and still find) that my 10ball break took a lot of adjusting for me to figure out on the 10ft, takes longer to find it on the extended playing surface than on a 9ft, but besides that, the biggest issue is finding the speed of the table. Somedays I am right on the money, somedays it takes a few racks, or worse, you think you have it and totally F an important ball. My 9ball break works with little adjustment, but there is no box marked on the table and we break from the rail.
The break is something that may not concern hobbyists much (me too) but it's absolutely a functional concern.

Of course it is! Using the same logic that would make it much easier to play 9-Ball or Ten Ball on a nine foot table than a seven foot barbox.
Player wise it would average out that way. I have no such player concern. You hit a shot, it keeps going and finishes itself. :ROFLMAO:

It's Been 3 And 1/2 Months Now

Just wanted to keep everybody updated. Somebody asked about the update in the other thread so here you go.

It's my understanding ETA is about three weeks away. I just wonder if the Derby City and all of this snow and ice and bitter cold weather could delay things. Plus I hope my lane is free and clear of snow. It's about 400 feet long so I hope they can get their vehicle up and over to my unattached garage. Then they have to carry the frame, slates, etc, up a set of outside steps.

Either way, we are getting closer!

I am happy for you

Balabushka

I don’t know about his collection but I think that it is a changing market for such cues. The target market for these cues is aging out for one. Also, the ability to resell down the road is becoming more questionable - at least from a financial investment standpoint.

The money that such cues were exchanging hands 20 years ago and even longer is actually more money than most are sold for today in comparative real value dollars.

In 1992 a former room owner that I knew sold his GB cue for $5,000 - That cue would never sell for today’s 1992 equivalent of $5,000. If it did - it would be break even at best.
