I Like the WNT But....

I
I prefer the predator viewing product myself but I also just don't like matchroom in general. I hate what they've done to the us open (laughably short races for starters I could go on), what they've done to commentary and their insistence on the hideous balls as a standard. Only good thing matchroom has done is gotten away from the ridiculous tournament blue that has always been bottom one since it came out, the gray is a terrific upgrade. If Ray Hansen would get away from the 40' away wide camera view of the room and set up to focus more on the tables, he could really do something but he believes the background and spectators need to be seen for some reason. Meanwhile you can't see an angle from that far away makes it not worth watching to me. Too bad because Ray puts on some great events.

ChalkGate Definitive Answers

I played today with a newly polished set of Centennials and the shots I noticed where throw was the toughest was
long backwards cuts or really severe ones to a side pocket. Inside English applications seem to take better than
Outside and we played for 2 1/2 hours 9 ball and 10 ball. By the time we finished, the throw improved and I’d guess
another couple of hours of play would render the balls even a little better. I’ll play tomorrow and the weekend so I am
curious to see what to expect after polishing the pool balls. I’m going to always polish so it makes sense to learn more.

The new U S. pro pool tour

Didn’t mention it because I forgot it exists- and I have seen it on the TVs at bars/restaurants. 😆. It doesn’t do anything for me and I watch golf. I also listen a little to the PGA channel on XM and heard it mentioned.

I had to look it up to see more about the facility - the studio really. I thought it was in California, should have known better. Of course it is in Florida near where many players live and avoid state taxes. Makes sense. As has been discussed above, a single location team event hasn’t seemed to work. It might work for what it is, a minor off season thing. The father- son off season event probably dwarfs it in ratings, but I don’t know, I’m just guessing. Maybe I’m just an old get off my lawn curmudgeon, but I’d watch the Skins Game, father son, or a resurrected JC Penney PGA/LPGA partners event long before that. I would watch that before some other sports programming though.

Yeah not trying to say its amazing but it is formulaically unlike what has been tried with pool and I think there's something there. A blueprint if you will.

Btw they have some LPGA/PGA crossover stuff upcoming...

Why don't more bars lease Diamond pool tables?

I’ve seen bars with diamonds, and the majority of players I’ve seen play on them are “bangers” and low level apa players.

Very few pool establishments are going to attract majority 500 + Fargo players, but having a table that draws in a loyal crowd of pool players who spend money all the time counts for something.

Wow, the fan who enjoys multiple disciplines has never had it better!

WNT offers great 9ball events all over the world. Predator's PBS offers great 10ball events all over the world. For those who prefer 8ball, there's the Ultimate pool tour, the English 8ball Tour and Heyball. Even one pocket fans have a new tour to watch in the south.

I don't see the need for each of these tours to diversify into disciplines other than their primary one.

And Predator does 8 ball events too

There are people who will say washing your hands too much is a bad thing, not all germs are bad, think herd immunity.

Yeah, my college Biology professor for one and it's not even necessarily that all germs aren't bad. Your skin and especially your hands and fingers emit oils that protect your pores from allowing bacteria in. Washing too often washes away those protective oils.

BK Rush jump break mettalic black $695 shipped

M
I have a metallic black(sparkly) BK rush jump break for sale. I bought it about five months ago and have broke with it maybe 50 times. More of a one pocket player. It has a minor dent in butt that does NOT break the finish. The shaft is in excellent condition. Looks great. Check my feedback everyone gets exactly what I advertised. I ship within 24 hours. $695 shipped friends and family or you can do it as a business transaction but you pay the fees. Cue is $899 plus tax on predator website, Seyberts wherever.

Thanks for that Hu.
At your age, you don't need to be flying anymore my friend. Time to retire that cape. 😉❤️

I was reading a little about shooting guns last week. The things that were innovative and known to only a few of us are common knowledge and accepted practice now. I suspect the same is true of pool practices.

I have pretty much stood still for decades, the rest of the world hasn't.
